  1. Thanks! Hopefully soon I will have proper reason to be here.

  2. Thanks so much for your reply - that's really useful information. How many years use are you hoping to get from your 99 Tarago? We currently have a forerunner which is a 99 Tarago GLi for $8999 from a woman (2nd owner) who has had it for the last 10 years. It's done 274000 km. She seems to have pretty immaculate service records and the inside of the car is beautifully kept - but of course it's really hard to tell as I just don't know what to look out for in a car of this type/age/mileage. Your decision to go through a dealer is very sensible (becuase of the warranty) and makes me think twice about buying privately. I hope you are enjoying your car.
  3. Hello, I'm a wannabe Tarago owner! Any advice from owners would be very welcome. We have been looking for about three weeks now (in Melbourne) at second hand Taragos with a budget of around $5000-$10000. This means we are looking at Taragos from the 90's. Nearly all the ones we have seen have between 200 - 300000 km on the odometer. Seems like the advice going around is NOT to buy a car with that many km. Does that mean all these Taragos we are seeing are really bad value and we shouldn't be looking at them? I am wondering how many Km a well cared for, regularly serviced Tarago should live on for. Has anybody got any ideas about this? Neither my husband nor myself are very mechanically savvy! Our only other possible option is to stretch the budget and go for a Japanese Estima instead as they seem to come with very low mileage for around 15000. I'm not quite so keen on spending this much BUT is it a false economy to go for an older and cheaper car??? Any advice much appreciated. Thanks
