  1. I also drove mine out of the dealer 10 years ago. Mine's been quite reliable with only a servo motor for the climate control/heater box going, and a passenger side drive shaft bearing which is a wear and tear item.

Not replacing it anytime soon, but wouldn't mind waiting for a gt86 second edition.

  2. I had year old sagged whiteline control springs that look like I was on kings super low height. Not pleasant as side skirts scrape the kerb, front lip gets damaged on road dips. Couldn't get down or up steep driveways without scraping the underside of the car - at one time I was stuck on steep carpark ramps as car was like a play ground see-saw.

Car did look good though at the time, just not practical.

  3. Hi,

I'm looking at getting a light weight flywheel and the xtreme chromoly one looks very similar to the monkeywrenchracing one. Does anyone have the proper part number for this flywheel ? I checked the manufacturers online catalog, and I think there might be some confusion when looking under corolla as the same part no is used for both zze122 and zze123 whereas for the celica it's a different model number.

Sent an email to the manufacturer and was told that the celica one wouldn't fit because they didn't know if it would mate with an exedy hd clutch.

    Appreciate your help.

  4. One thing I've noticed over the years on a prefacelift zze123 is that the engine movement during gear changes causes the trd cai tubing to rub against the chassis just above where the pod filter sits on the cai. It was also the cause of an irritating thumping noise that I was getting during gear changes which I thought were coming from the gearbox.

I would suggest purchasing a 3 inch silicone hose joiner along with some hose clamps and protect that area of the cai, otherwise you'll end up with a cai with a hole in it.

  5. Anyone know if +38 wheel offset on a zze123 will rub the inner or outer guards, or will I need to get some guard rolling done ?

With the aussie dollar so high, searching ebay for enkei rpf1 in 16x7 can get them landed for just a smidge over $1K and it's very tempting at that price. Anyone run 15x7 wheels on their sportivo, if so, what tyre size do you run ?

  6. I'm no mechanic, but if I had the same problem I would be doing the following:

Try cleaning your maf sensor - there's a work shop submission here.

Reset ecu - also a work shop submission.

Clean pod air filter and ensure no cracks in rubber elbow of cai

Spray Carburettor cleaner into throttle body with engine idling.

Do iscv clean - also a work shop submission but better to get a mechanic to do it.

    Replace thermostat.

  7. Don't care about stretch. How about scrubage ???

    stretch is the bomb guan.

    So 16x7 with a 38 offset and I won't scrub on a 205 50 16 tyres ???

I'll let you know if it scrubs or not Guan ;)

I'm keen to find out if it'll fit as well. I recall reading a thead here that someone had 16x7 +38 had to roll the rear guards.

  8. Can anyone recommend a ultra high performance street tyre with decent rim guard to protect (my precious - golem voice) rims from being guttered rashed ?

I have yokohama s drives and they have a decent rim guard like 7mm, these tyres wear quite well, but grip levels aren't great in the wet, so I'm searching for a better alternative.
