  1. I have one from the first group buy. They are are cut perfectly and fit like a glove above the radiator. The aim of these is to prevent the air flowing above the radiator, so that it enters into the radiator. Not sure how effective these are, but if you're a person that likes to track your car or go on spirited drives where you're at high rpms most of the time, then I would think that these will make a difference then.

Also, everyone on here that has eyelids, c-one wing tips is a ricer anyway...so nothing to be ashamed of. :D

  2. Whats the difference between getting stainless steel compared to mild steel?

Is it just that S.S will last longer or its better performance, i think i read somewhere on this forum that s.s is a bit lighter and gets the exhaust gasses out better????

The mild steel piping will look absolutely crap after a year or two. Similar to like old pipes left out in the rain, with the thin coat of rust. Go for SS with mandrel bends if you've got the $$$.

  3. Don't get yokohama s drive. Absolutely crap in the wet as they struggle for traction on take off. I'm trying to wear them out quicker so that I can replace them with something better.

Bridgestone adrenalin re001 in 205/50/16 cost me $189 at five dock bridgestone I have them on the rears at the moment and they seem like they stick to the road pretty well, can't wait to get them on the front to give them a good test.

What about trying the toyo semi slicks ?

  4. This evening 6.05pm spotted black facelift sportivo lowered to the max on stockies rego number JCC**0 in Albion laneway behind thai brothel in Surry Hills.

Nicely lowered clean car. Your right headlight aims to the sky and needs to be adjusted.

Beeped and gave the nod of approval, but got a blank stare instead :)

  5. This project is coming along nicely.

I love the ae82 twincam hatches, owned and 88 series 2 one for 10 years and regretted selling it but had to because rust was becoming a pain in the proverbial. I wanted to do the 4agze conversion, but back then the halfcut costed 6K, then another 4K in labour costs to have it fitted professionally. When these came out brand new they were around the 17K mark if memory serves me correctly.

I wanted to get the roh casino roulette looking wheels for it similar to the ones that were used when they raced these but those wheels were stopped production many years ago.

  6. Look into these... http://www.tein.co.jp/e/products/super_wagon.html

The spring rate on these is 3kg, so they are comfortable for street.

On there softest damping setting they are only slightly firmer that the whiteline control springs with stock shocks. I use to run whiteline on stock shocks and the handling although better than stock, the rear would hop when ever I hit a bump mid corner. With the teins, going over the same bump mid corner, the rear stays planted to the road.

  7. I remember reading about these, they're suppose to automatically adjust damping levels on the fly as you drive. Looking forward to the review.

btw. when you say Tein was stiff, did you adjust the damping levels lower ? I have them at 14 from max hard, and it rides very very close to stock sportivo comfort. The missus can't even tell the difference.

  8. the other combos i was looking at were KONI shock and pedders springs and pedders quoted me about $1800 fitted. i searched around and found that some people have reccomended Bilstein shocks with eibach springs, but is it something that i really need? i want a good balance of comfort, slightly lowered, better handling (remembering the car has good tyres now, 17" wheels, front strut brace and rear sway bar)

(i only want a 30mm drop, not 35mm because NRMA will insure me up to 30mm drop )

Seeing that you've gone whiteline for everything else, why not look at whiteline control springs and koni yellow shocks. That 30mm drop that you want, will soon turn out to 40mm given a year or so, as all springs will sag over time. It might be better to change insurers, GIO don't worry about ride heights, as long as it's rta legal.

  9. These sort of people get no where in life anyway so you'll at least know they're screwed later on no matter what.

This statement is so true. I recall going back to a 10 year high school reunion and the racists kids back then never showed up and on asking those that attended, they either served time in prison for drug/theft related crimes etc... either way they weren't successful at all.

  10. Was there a definite group buy price on the 2zz headers, or is this yet to be confirmed ?

Also, I have an 03 sportivo (think earlier one) which might have the better exhaust manifold that people speak of in the earlier threads. Does anyone know of the difference and how to identify if it is indeed the older and better one ?

  11. You did the right thing to refuse it.

A scratch in the panel is just not on. Even if they respray it, that front quarter panel may not match the rest of the car particularly if you've chosen metallic paint.

Tints can get redone. Make sure you check all the interior panels, head rests adjust okay, and everything...

I once had a dodgey nissan dealer try and sell me a hail damaged pulsar q for the price of a new car. He promised to drive the car to me for delivery which we refused, and when we went to pick it up, it has droplets of water on top of the car to try and conceal the hail damage.
