  1. you can do what now??? where how and when do i go about getting this? my local dealers knew nothing, emailed toyota and then told me no chance, everything is intranet for them..... Just go into your local dealer and ask them! It is available as a spare part. If worst comes to worst, tell them to get the CD Part Number off the disc that their in-house workshop uses.
  2. You can buy a CD Repair Manual for the ZRE152 Corolla. Some of the features in the CD you won't be able to access, unless you are connected to Toyota Intranet, like all the dealers are, but you should be able to access most of the information that you need. From memory it is less than $100, but you would need to check to make sure.
  3. did you recieve my pm. Indeed I did. And I shot one back! Or at least I think I did!
  4. I can, but my merchandise orders from the supplier have to be over $100 wholesale.
  5. Hi Mick, I just signed up as a new member and am still finding my way around. I'm getting my new Presara tomorrow (can't wait) and I have a question about the built-in Bluetooth system. Thus far, my dealer hasn't been able to give me a satisfying answer. The Presara brochure says that "Bluetooth will only operate with telephone enabled with compatible Bluetooth wireless technology (HFP [Hands Free Profile] version 1.0 and OPP [Object Push Profile] version 1.1 international standards)." I don't want to buy a phone that is not compatible, but it seems that all mobile phones currently on the market are "compliant with Bluetooth Specification 2.0 supporting the following profiles: . . . Object Push, Handsfree, . . . " (quote from the phone connectivity specs). Is the Bluetooth system in the Presara old technology or is it compatible with any Bluetooth mobile phone that supports Handsfree and Object Push??? Hope you can help. Cheers noble Noble. I was going to say something very similar to what Yoshi has just said. I don't think it should be a problem to connect up to the unit.
  6. Theoretically every dealer can access TRD parts. We all use the same ordering system. Not many dealerships out there have the TRD parts catalogues, which can be very hard to get a hold of, expensive and usually written completely in Japanese! And I guess also to, that a lot of dealerships, when it comes to"go-fast" or modified bits, probably don't have a real interest in them and therefore might say they cannot access the parts just to get out of. The only website I can think of that may have the TRD part numbers you are looking for is http://trdparts/jp/english/ . This is the Japanese site obviously but a lot of the part numbers are the same to the Australian spec vehicles. I have just punched in a few part numbers and they do work in my system. Hope this helps!
  7. Indeed this is true. But in someway, it is just the same as taking your "ordinary" Toyota or TRD Toyota, or any other manufacturer for that matter to a dealer for service or your local mechanic. Anyone with a set of spanners and a little bit of know how can do a service. It is a personal preference who you want to work on your car. I feel the same as yourself. If I owned a TRD vehicle I would want a TRD Mechanic on it, just for the piece of mind that if anything went wrong you do have a leg to stand on. Any dealer can access the TRD tools, but they may not neccessarily have the people trained to use them correctly.
  8. Thanks for the questions guys. Just to answer a few: Unfortunately I don't work for a registered TRD Dealership. In saying this however, TRD Dealerships are the only ones that are able to sell the cars, but any dealer can handle the service and the parts for the TRD vehicles, as to my understanding. At this stage there are 6 Melbourne TRD dealers and I don't think there will be any others, just for the immediate future anyway. I am lead to believe (the TRD program is still yet to be fully rolled out) that dealers will only have access to Australian delivery TRD parts catalogues, i.e Aurion, Hilux, Rav4 and Yaris. I can however get prices for TRD Japan parts, but need to have the part numbers to do so.
  9. I look forward to hearing them. With any luck I will be able to help out!
  10. Hi all! I haven't been on this site for a while. And haven't posted in even longer! Just to let you know that I am now working in a major metro dealership in Melbourne, as opposed to working in one in rural Queensland. A bit of a difference let me tell you! Anyway, just a quick note that if anyone needs or wants some help or a question answered, (parts and accessories are the specialty!) I will try my best to help out where I can. Look forward to hearing from some of you. Cheers Mick
  11. I guess it depends how big your caravan. If it getting up over the 2 tonne mark may be an idea to put anther one on, just to be on the safe side. Gearboxes arn't cheap when they break!
  12. If your still looking for some, I can get some brand new ones for you. They would be $264 each
  13. Just got a memo come across my desk..... " All Corolla Sportivo models will cease production from 31 October 2005." "There will be no immediate replacement for Corolla Sportivo in the foreseeable future"
  14. Hi there, Prob the best thing for you to do is to go out and buy Version 10, this is latest update and will show most country towns nowdays. Costs about $300 from your local Toyota dealer. The Versions are just the updates ie Vers 10 has more stuff that Vers 3
  15. Just looked up the part numbers on my computer. It lists 90915-YZZE2 for the Sportivo and 90915-YZZE1 for the standard Corolla. Preety sure the reason is something to do with the oil pressure, overheard one of the techs saying something about it the other day.
  16. Some of the Lexus cars and the Prius use a "smart key". Looks like a mini phone with out any buttons on it. You don't even have to take the key out of your pocket when approaching the car or put it in the igntion to start the car. Oh the joys of having a wad of money to spend on a car........!!!
  17. Hi Paul Being a UK car the region code for the Sat Nav system would be different. Maybe if you just change the actual Sat Nav Disc bit and not the head unit that might be a cheaper solution. They (by rights) should be the same connection plugs and all that I don't think the colour system would be affected, over there I think they are on PAL too aren't they?? Those are my thoughts anyway. Hope this can be maybe at least a start
  18. When selling parts usually dealers will use two prices. Some use the list price, which is what you would get charged (+GST) if you went to a panel beater or a mechanic to get parts fitted. Other dealers if selling over the counter will use a retail price, anywhere from about 5-15% mark up from list. Can be a common thing for prices to vary like that even across town. Can be for a number of things, just pure profit, or to protect their account customers. Competition can also be a issue too... On another note I am happy to help anyone interested in buying genuine parts at a dealership level for a good price. :)
  19. Hi. You can buy a kit which does both ends of the shaft, comes with the dampers and nuts and bolts and a bit of grease but. As far as I am aware you can only get them genuine. The part number for the kit is 04374-28010 and costs retail somewhere round about 486 plus GST
  20. I don't think it is possible. The pre facelift Camry did not have any provisions for the remotes simply because they wern't even an option. Besides would you really want to spend over $1400 on a steering wheel because, sadly, that is what you going to be up for, not including labour.
  21. Hi Blueduck Working in a Toyota Parts Department, we tend to see a pattern emerge with some vehicles and the parts that usually fail with them. For example with Hiaces and the air cleaners hoses etc etc.... The only thing that stands out in my mind with the TCR series is the Equipment Drive Shaft. If you have a look there are some rubber-type, I guess you would call them dampers, on the ends of the shaft. These cannot be replaced separately, they have to be bought in a kit costing around about the $540 mark. Rarely do they need to be replaced but it might be something to be weary of in the future. At the start of 1996, there was a minor cooling system change but nothing too major, the water pump and radiator stay the same all throughout the series. With regards to the long trips, the best information I can give you is to make sure the car is serviced, or at least looked over before embarking on a big trip. If you know that you are going to go somewhere remote, take a few spares, ie: coolant, oil, fuses, bulbs and anything else you deem neccesary. Look after your car and it will look after you.......
  22. List Price is $6545 for a newby, one out of a Supra in $10500 for comparison
  23. We had a 100 Series Sahara in the workshop the other day with 22's on it!!! Looked quite good
  24. Not service, in parts. For Toyota, Lexus and Daihatsu
  25. Lexus Gearboxes ain't cheap!!! Over 10g for the gearbox
