  1. Hey, THe method below works. But you need to do each time you start the car if you want the TC off. By default it turns back on each time you start the car. 1. Make sure the car is in Park and the parking brake is disengaged before you start the car. 2. Start the engine. 3. Engage the parking brake. 4. Fully depress the brake pedal and then release. 5. Fully depress the brake pedal and then release. 6. Disengage the parking brake. 7. Fully depress and hold down the brake pedal. 8. Engage the parking brake, then disengage it (while holding down the brake pedal). 9. Engage the parking brake, then disengage it (while holding down the brake pedal). 10. Release the brake pedal. 11. Engage the parking brake. 12. Fully depress the brake pedal and then release. 13. Fully depress the brake pedal and then release. Its a bit convoluted, but i tried it and i works.
  2. Hi, I've got a question about the fuel gauge and Distance to Empty reading. The tank in the the Aurion is 70litres. My average fuel comsumption is 9.8litres/100km I should in theory (using 65litres leaving 5 in the tank) get around 660km per tank. My Distance to empty gauge shows 0km after only travelling 520km. Any my warning light comes on around 500km. At 500 km theoretically i can do another 200km before the tank runs dry. i've run the car to 600km and it only took 58litres, leaving 12 (another 100km at least). To me, the guage is way out of calibration. Does anyone else have this problem, or is your reading accurate and correct. Daniel.
  3. ey guys, i just picked up my new zr6 aurion 3 days ago, and i can say it's a damn nice car...well anyway with my new car, it comes with a odo dimer so i am able to dim it to as dark as i like to as bright as possible to light up the whole front. So maybe you guys could ask your dealers to get this dimer installed on your cars? cheers, dice The dimmer in my ZR6 only dims the Instrument cluster, not the panel surrounding the radio. Are you saying that your radio blue light surround gets dimmed when you dim the dash display? I looked at pulling apart the display to replace the led's however it doesn't look that easy. I was able to get the stereo/hvac control panel out easily, but there seems to be a fair bit of dissasembly required to actaully get to the lighting around the stereo.
  4. So i decided to go with new speakers for my Zr6. The stock ones just didn't sound right. Bass seemed uncontrolled, and there wasn't enough crispness in the high ranges. Since the stock speakers are 6x9 all round with tweeters in the top of the dash, i decided to get a set of eclipse 6x9 4 ways to replace the 4 6x9's in the car. I decided to leave the factory tweeters in the top of the dash to help with the staging. Here are some photos. 1. Removal of door trim was easy, just remove the grab handle cover, and door handle cover and remove the three screws. The trim then just pulled away from the door. There are clips all around the trim to hold it in place. 2. You can then see that the speaker has odd mounting points, the hole in the door is much much larger than a standard 6x9 speaker. You can also see that the oem speaker has a plastic frame, i bet its worth about 50c. 3. Once removing the speaker, i needed to remove the green plastic mountig plugs. They protruded from the door frame and wouldn't have allowed the new baffle to sit flush against the door panel. 4. I then made a cardboard template for the new baffle base. I used the template and cut out the baffle with my jigsaw, i used the template provided with the speakers to cut out a speaker hole in the new baffle. I mounted the baffle in place using nuts and bolts through the existing holes. I also used a 2mm rubber under the baffle againt the door frame to ensure a perfect seal. 5. The new speakers were still too deep to mount directly on the new baffle, they would have hit the window. So i made another spacer out of MDF to mount onto the baffle. This allowed me to mount and screw the speaker directly onto the main baffle. 6. Once the front doors were done, i moved onto the back speakers. Removing the rear speakers involves (in this order) Removing the seat base, the seat belt bolts at the base, the seat back, the left and right c pillar trims, and then the parcel shelf. The speakers are mounted on the deck with bolts, easy enough to undo. Again the holes are too big for a standard 6x9 so i made another plywood baffle using the factory speaker as a shape template. I cut out the baffle and then screwed the speaker to it before mounting the baffle. I then mounted the entire baffle/speaker in once piece. This made it easier to work under the glass. The baffle screwed into the factory mounting positions. The baffles also provide enough clearance for the bottom of the speakers against the boot springs. I only have one photo of the rear, as my camera battery ran out, and i couldn't be bothered waiting for it to recharge. RESULT: The difference is absolutely astounding!!! Nice tight controlled bass, crisp clear highs, and a sweet mid range. The amp in the head unit has no problems driving these speakers. The timber baffles i'm sure help dramatically with the sound quality. All in all i'm really happy with the new speakers and my install. Not one hole was drilled or cut into the car. No rattles or unwanted vibrations in the car either. It would simply be a matter of unscrewing the new speakers baffles and screwing in the original speakers to restore the car to factory condition.
  5. The replacement fascia turns it into a double din slot. You can buy a pocket to slide in which will make it a single din. I know 6x9's are not ideal however the exisitng cutout in the door is for 6x9's. It would take a lot of custom work to fit anything else in. The standard system already has tweeters in the top of the dash, which in my opinion sound crisp and clear enough..
  6. Hey, I've been looking at upgrading the stereo too. I've bought two pairs of Eclipse 6x9 speakers to replace the factory ones. Eclipse and Fujitsu Ten are the same company. Fujitsu ten make all the gear for the Aurion. There is an ipod adaptor available for the head unit. Eclipse also have a replacement dash fascia for the stereo which allows you to install a standard single or double din stereo into the dash. The replacement panel replaces the entire piece that houses the standard stereo. Pricing to be confirmed, but estimates from the dealer were around $60. At this stage i'll be replacing the speakers (probably wednesday), and i'll see how it sounds. If i'm still not happy, i'll go with a new head unit, amps and a sub. Will post some pics/info once i've done the job. I took the door trim off to take a look at the front speaker mounts, i'm going to need to make custom mdf mounts as the factory 6x9s have a design where they protrude from the door rather than recess into the door frame. The cutout in the door is too big for a normal 6x9's to mount straight in.
  7. It came from Toyota Cardiff. Not sure if anyone drove it. It had 8km on it. The white ones are probably harder to sell, can't see why. I think with window tint, they look very classy.
  8. I ordered my ZR6 in late March and got it a week later. I initially ordered the blue, which they had, then i changed my mind and got the white, the dealer swapped it from another dealer. Got the ZR6 with sportivo floor mats and tint, for $42,200 driveaway. (seems to be the going price) Absolutely love it.
  9. Thanks. Cool. Yeah i thought it would be something like that. I'll get the service guys to check it out anyway when i take it in on Tuesday.
  10. Hi All, I'm new here. I just got my Feb 07 build Aurion Zr6 in White last wednesday. Awesome car, absolutely love it. I came out of an 05 Subaru Liberty 3.0R-Spec B. I wanted something bigger with Auto, and the ZR6 fit the bill perfectly. Anyway i have a question about the car. When you first drive off in the car, at about 10-15km per hour i get a clunk coming from the front engine bay. Not really loud, just a noticeable thud. It only happens when you first drive the car after its been parked. Once you are going, you can stop at the lights, start and not have any sounds. Its only after its been parked. At first i thought it may have been the 1-2 gear change, but lately i've noticed it after or before the gear change. It sounds like something is engaging or disengaging. I have my first 1000km service on Tuesday and will get Toyota to look at it. I was just curious to see if anyone else had the same problem? Anyway other than that, i absolutely love the car. Here are some pics.
