  1. I got mine ordered in from Bob Jane. BBoss wheels is in Melbourne. Any bob Jane store should be able to order them in for you. And Yes i think the wheels would suit the black SX6 well. The wheels work best on black or white cars. I've seen them on a gold ZR6 and they didn't look so good.
  2. I'm Guessing that was you that passed me on King Georges road on Saturday night at 11.30. (Near the M5 turnoff)!!!
  3. Did you disconnect the factory tweeters in the top of the dash. This should reduce the excessive brightness. The Auto Level setting is still on my menu.
  4. Thats doesn't sound right. I ended up with lots more bass all round. Sure you didn't wire up the terminals in reverse. That would cause a loss in bass response. Since i did my speaker upgrade last year, i have made additions. A few weeks ago i added a JBL amp, and an LC6i convertor to convert the standard speaker output from the stereo to RCA pre-outs for the amp. I also sealed both front doors with Dynamat. All this extra work was for more power not more bass. You should have good bass response without the amp/sound proofing etc. Have you got a tight seal between the baffle/custom mount. No Air should be able to escape around the speaker/baffle and baffle/door areas. I used a 2mm rubber to make sure i had a perfect seal. I only added the dynamat to the doors, as due to the extra power from the amp, the speakers would cause the door lining (plastic) to buzz and vibrate at really high volumes. The dynamat prevents this. Running the stock head unit however, will not require the Dynamat, as the speakers aren't being driven as hard as with the amp. Double check your connection polarity (as reversing it will cause the problem you are having). Also Double check your seal with the baffles.
  5. I had mine lowered with Pedders springs. I had sports Ryder springs installed. The drop was way more than 40mm. At was around 55mm. I had no problems with wheel clearance. (running 18x 8.5 rim). I did have however a problem with ground clearance. The front would scrape everywhere and some times the chassis rails would also scrape (over speed bumps and durved driveways). It started to bug me. I have a client who manufactures springs. He offered to remove my springs and reset them to a new height. I had him raise the front by 25mm and the back by 15mm. Height is perfect now. Ends up being 40mm lower than standard at the front. Looks great, handles great, and the extra height has smoothed out the ride a little. Not sure what Pedders will do with your car though.
  6. Definately go for White. I am a little biased though. <_<
  7. Very Nice. I was also going to buy the black until i saw the white one in the showroom. Great Choice.
  8. I've done the following: No Mechanical changes to the drivetrain at this stage.. Lowered 55mm 18" Wheels New JBL Amp, 6x9 speakers, LC6i signal convertor, Dynamat on doors Tint Lowering it, and adding wider wheels made a huge dufference to the handling. F#CK that looks good in white. Love your work. Who lowered it 55mm? TRD springs or after market jobbies? I got my local Bob Jane to install Pedders Sports Ryder Springs.

  10. Have you signed a contract yet? You could try Clintons Toyota in Campbelltown, or Narellan. If the dealer has not given you a firm delivery date then you should be able to cancel the contract due to there not being a delivery date. The deal you got isn't bad, maybe could have squeezed a little more out of the dealer on the 08. If you plan on keeping the car for a while, see if you can find a new 07 build. could save $,000's
  11. I think that your 700km should only be a guide, there are too many variables to consider such as type of driving (heavy or light foot), road type(freeway or city) and road condition. Thats why i look at the average consumption. It gives me a guide as to how i have been driving my car since i last filled it up. I've done 22,000km now and not once have i run out of fuel.
  12. Considering you got a 2008, thats not a bad deal. Congrats on the new car. When do you get it?
  13. Yeah, the guage is innacurate. I usually work it out myself. I know there is 70 litres in the tank when full. I check my avg usage on the trip computer, if its less than 10l/100 (its usually between 8.9 - 9.3l/100) i drive 700km before refueling. The distance to go says 0 around 600, but i take it to 700 no probs. (this still leaves 5 litres in the tank.. always) If my avg is over 10 (sometimes i push it, or i get stuck in bad traffic) i full up after 650km. Don't really rely on the guage too much. I reset the trip meter each time i fill up and just do 700km
  14. You can definately get it for 19k driveaway. without a trade in. You are buying a 2007 build model. So you will save heaps. Look at my other thread. We bought my mum a YARIS YRS Auto Sedan with the airbag safety pack for $20k driveaway. The yaris sedan YRS Auto - is $19490 not including options and airbag safety pack which is $750 $19490 + $750 + On road costs + dealer delivery = approx $24k We drove it away for $20k exactly with floor mats, headlight protectors, and safety pack You should be able to get your car for the website RRP price driveaway - Toyota list your choice YRS Hatch Auto for $17,890, you should get it for $18k provided the dealer has it in stock. Don't back down. They are keen to sell 07 build models. good luck
  15. You will be able to get a Yaris YRS 5 door auto for $19,000 without a tradein. - Is the $19,000 your changeover price? What is your tradein? If $19k is your changeover then the dealer isn't doing you any favours. You should go get a deal on the YRS 5 door auto for $19,000 without a trade, and then sell your car privately.
  16. that's a really great deal, your drive away price is like the RRP listed for that model. Is that excl / incl insurance? I am looking at a 5dr auto YR model. It's listed as $17,890 rrp (excl dealer delivery + on road costs), let's hope I can get it like $18k drive away. Yeah it was a great deal. You should be able to do similar deal, especially if you get an 07 build. $18k should be doable if you push hard and the dealer has it in stock. Go for your local dealer, apparantly according to the manager at our local dealer, the dealers get better incentives to sell locally. (might not be true but who knows?) Timing is also important, we went in to get mums yaris at 11.30am on 31st Dec. Did the deal by 1pm. Dealer had the silver one in the yard so they registered it and did pre delivery the same day and we picked it up at 3.30pm on New Years Eve. Dealer must have been keen to push december sales up. Insurance was $520 extra for my mum, but we transferred the policy over from her old car which we just sold. So she didn't have to pay anu extra now. Goodluck.
  17. wow. with tinted windows and floor mats too. I think you should push for a better price. Try for around $16,750 (especially for an 07 build). We got a YRS Sedan for mum, its a 1.5 Auto with Safety Pack, Mats, Protectors etc for $20k exactly drive away. Considering the YR is a 1.3 and a 2 door hatch you should be able to get a better deal. www.discountnewcars.com.au has it listed at $16,264 not including on roads or tint. From personal experience you should be able to get a better deal than discount new cars lists including your on road costs. for example they list the YRS sedan in auto with Safety pack and metallic paint for $19697 + On roads and dealer delivery. We drove it away for $20 exactly with mats, protectors etc etc.
  18. Hi, I have my mums Camry for sale. Its a 2004 (first registered in 2005) Still under toyota warranty. Its a V6, with 49,000km on it. It's Blue, Automatic with Air conditioning. Excellent condition. I advertised it yesterday for $18,000, but am willing to negotiate if you are willing to increase your budget a little. What area are you in? The car is in campbelltown. pm me if you are interested.
  19. Went out the other day and bought a Yaris YRS 1.5 Auto Sedan for mum. We signed on a Oct 07 build Silver Sedan. Got Auto, 6 year warranty, Floormats, Headlight protectors, and the Safety Pack with the extra airbags. Drove it away for exactly 20k. Brand new, they had it in stock. We went in at 12.30 on the 31st dec, they were keen to deal and rego it that day. (wanted to boost figures i think). It was in their yard, so they were able to rego it, do the pre delivery and we picked it up 3.30 the same afternoon. She loves it. We had another price from another yard without the safety pack for $20,800. Good price?
  20. My Zr6 is my 12th Car. I've had a lot of fords, subaru's and a nissan. Ford are definately bottom of the bunch in terms of build quality and after sales service. Subaru are leaders in terms of warranty service, however i wouldn't rate their cars as being more reliable than my Aurion. Each brand has some bad examples. My Aurion after 20,000km is the most reliable car i have ever owned. Nothing has failed. My $60k spec B liberty which i sold to buy the Aurion was on its third engine after 55,000km, thanks to an issue in the design of the 3litre engine. The car had numerous other little faults includng an anoying click from the front and rear windscreens that took 2 years to fix. That changed my opinion of Subaru quality dramatically. Resale wasn't that great either. On the other hand we still have an 06 Outback for my Wife and its just as flawless as the Aurion. Never had a good ford (5 falcons in the last 10 years). Not one didn't have problems.
  21. Have you had your windows Tinted? I had a similar problem and it turned out the be the stuff that sticks the tint to the glass. During installation, the installer uses water and a squeegee to apply the tint, it sticks a bit like a lick on postage stamp. As the installer pushes all the water out from under the tint, some of the glue/water ends up on the rubber seal when they close the window. The glue sticks to the seal and sometimes causes the window to jam. Get some hot soapy water and a sponge, then clean the rubber around the window opening (with the window open). You will find that you wont have the problem again. If you don't have tinted windows then something else is the issue.
  22. I think you are going about it the wrong way. I know you are angry, and i know how you feel (i've been there). However threatening to sue will get you nowhere. Toyota will have a list of lawyers as long as your arm and will not spare a cent defending themselves in order to prevent a precedent being set. Leave your car at the dealer, You then need to be on the phone everyday morning and night to Toyota head office, asking what the progress is on your issues. REFUSE to pickup the car until headoffice comes back to you with an acceptable answer to all your concerns. Trying to sue them over your kid getting into a 50' car is going to result in you wasting your money. Airconditioning is a luxury not a standard. 33 years ago when i was born, do you think many people had air conditioning in their cars??? I remember countless summer trips in mum and dads (new back then) XC falcon without airconditioning sitting on brown vinyl seats.!!! I was in high school (late 80's) before they got a car with airconditioning in it.
  23. AAMI. No questions asked. I told them i lowered it and added mags and tint. They said ok. As a matter of fact i got my renewal yesterday. Insured for 40k. $813. Age might be an issue if you are younger than 25. I'm old 33. Im 21 insured my car for $50,000 and im paying $671 With AAMI too thats really cheap!! What suburb/state are you in? How much did your car cost? They normally won't insure it for more than the replacement cost of a new one.
