  1. I have gone from stock 205/60/16 to 235/45/17 and my speedo is only 1.4 out. There is a tyre size calculator at www.miata.net.

Thats fair enough Rolla Boy. I only have one car to work on so I guess that why im so keen. Anyway the eyelids are on their way from the U.S so will post a photo when they are painted and on. :)
  4. Ive got the 2003 model camry sportivo and I have a squeak in the steering and rattling noises that sound like they are coming from the front end somewhere. Its getting looked at tomorrow. Could this be the steering rack problem too?? Would it rattle??
  5. Yeah I am about 15km out of Innisfail. No not many up this way on here, but there are two others on Auscam from Cairns. Ah ok. Im in Mareeba. Thanks for the Auscam link. Definately going to have a look there. B)
  6. Paid $55 for one according to the invoice. I agree though, they couldn't possibly have done one, just charged me for it. <_<

LOL...wow, 2 years. Im lucky to be able to wait 2 minutes to get something new on my car once i've bought it. Yeh I love em too. You definately should get them on. Cant wait for mine to get here. :D
  8. Mabe its just Jax anywhere then. I very recently spent $1850 on new rims and tyres at a Jax Quick Fit. After driving my car for a day it felt really weird so I took it to my local Beaurepairs to have it checked (the Jax store is a hour drive from me and I didnt want to drive that far how it was). After checking my car it was found that no one of the tyres had the same pressure in it as well as .... Rear Axle individual toe left - +3.3mm, right - -0.3mm Front Axle individual toe left - -2.9mm, right - +5.0mm Beaurepairs was horrified at how bad it was. I am heading to the Jax store this week to have a few words and will NEVER be going back.
  9. Reliable, fuel efficient, great to drive, fantastic looks.....and my father sells them so I got a GREAT discount. :P
  10. Definately genuine. I ve just had my 115,000 service and the factory brake pads are still going strong. mbruce...you said you live in the country and your profile says NQ. Anywhere near Cairns? Not many this far up on here I think.
  11. I found these Altezza Lights for a camry from an overseas store. Does anybody know i you can get them in australia?? And if yes, where?? Thanks :D

Your not really covering them. They dont interfere with the beam. I dunno I think the eyelids look good on lots of vehicles. Personal choice I guess. :D

Not really getting at anything. I know a few people who have lost their eyelids regardless of what they have stuck them down with short of locktight super glue. Whether they havent fitted them properly I dont know. I actually said APPARENTLY they stay on better, I didnt say they did. I figured people whould give their opinions on what they thought. Whether they thought they would stay on better or whether they thought they looked ok. Guess I need to be more specific in what I type.
  15. I found some eyelids for my camry sportivo that I can get from the U.S for $60 including postage. Apparently because they are moulded to fit and extend further down the headlight, over the ridge, they dont lift.
  16. Hey now those head units dont look too bad..might just head to the shops for a look on monday. Some of my friends have also mentioned Alpine so that might be the way to go.....Thanks :D
  17. Im happy to spend $500-$600 on the head unit. The main thing I do know is I want a 2 din. I personally prefer them to the 1 din and pocket. So many brands to choose from out there and I just dont wanna buy something im gonna regret.
  18. Yeh thats true. Well have shopped around and have found my head unit. Going to get the Kenwood DPX-MP3110. $299 for the unit and $100 to install it. Pretty happy with that.
  19. I'm upgrading my stereo and would love to hear who has put what in their camry's. I drive on bumpy country roads so its gotta be a decent one. I dont want any skipping. There is a Kenwood one I love ( DPX MP3110), but ive been told by a few retailers to get Pioneer cause they are heaps better. Wots everyone else think???? :)
  20. Thanks for the advice on tyres and rims you guys gave me. It took a LONG time but I finally have them on. I ended up getting 17x7 and 235/45ZR17's. I have pictures posted in Members Rides. Now I just need her lowered!!! Thanks again :P
  21. Hi. Have been a member for a little while but have been a bit slack on adding some photos. Not a lot of mods done yet...changed standard grill to colour coded grill, 17" Advanti Medusa rims, high rise spoiler and side tattoes. Next step hopefully is lowering her.
  22. Hi. When I bought my 2003 camry sportivo I think I paid around $400 for it back then. I am in FNQ and have not seen one on any other camry so obviously they dont seem to be a popular accesory but I think it looks great so push the dealers to find you one. Have attached a photo of my camry with the high rise spoiler.
  23. Thanks for your opinion, thats great. (I agree with the ***k friend bit :D ) I've already picked the rims, they are ROH Mantis Shadow Crome. The size options I was looking at were 17x7 or 18x8. Now with your input I am sure to go with 18x8. As far as I know in QLD its illegal if your wheel sticks out of the guard, but I will look into that more. Also I travel country roads so I had ruled out 19". Being female also, I'll go with what your gf said about driving on 19" dannywss. Had a look at your car and it looks fantastic. My 12yr son had a fit when he saw it. Thanks heaps. :D
  24. Hi, I'm after some advice from people who have changed their rims and tyres. I own a 2003 camry sportivo and I have been told by a friend that putting 18x8 rims and 225/45/R18 tyres on it would be illegal, an extremely uncomfortable ride and totally stupid. Anybody out there that can give me some good advice would be great. Thanks all.
