  1. Update, I found the wobble comes when ur lazy rotating the wheels, and the fronts seem to wear unevenly & cause the wobble.
  2. Forgot to update this. When went to pay for the Toyota wheel alignment, they tried asking for 20 bucks more because "that price was only if u did the brake fluid here too". It wasn't happening haha
  3. Also is it possible to clean up the thread a bit to keep it on topic (including a couple of mine) to make it easier to read for anyone looking for exhaust info on these cars, cheers
  4. Well I got the resonators (I supplied) fitted, along with new tips (they supplied) & 2" pipe with flanges for easy changeover if needed. Bad news first...... I got raped bad. Completely ripped off. This covid crap must have businesses desperately trying to recoup their downtime. They took 100 bucks off when they seen the look on my face, & even after that it's shocking. Now for the good news..... The drone is gone. Just when it starts to build up & about to reach the previously mentioned sonic boom,...... It just tapers off. General volume wise, well inside the car is very quiet & having the radio on low hides any exhaust mod. So I got someone to Rev the car while I stood behind, and gladly it has a deep muted tone & sounds nice. I would happily recommend this mod with these resonators for someone who wants a deep tone for their aurion, and still have it relatively quiet inside. Just make sure u first get quotes, instead of assuming the local shop will do an honest job.
  5. Thanks mate, yeah only use the cheap sca stuff, does the job. For the paint, I spray on some bowdens boss gloss on the big green thingie when drying the car...... Does wonders for the shine
  6. I steered away from from loud exhausts when I got this car as it was a pleasant change. But since I dropped the mufflers, I have actually been looking for excuses to drive the car now. So disappointed about the drone just in that small Rev range, but quite surprised how the 3 cats & middle ressie do such a good job volume wise even without the rear mufflers.
  7. Car looks beautiful when clean, but unfortunately lives outside in the sun, so gets dirty quickly then I think what's the point haha
  8. Yeah I researched the muffler delete to death, most threads coming from this site. There was a mention of someone happy with the sound, but as like me they planned on fitting resonators, but they never came back to update. These ressies are glass packed, should do much better than hotdogs.
  9. For those that don't know, yes they fit even though they sink in 10mm over stock factory alloys, and use the factory alloy wheel nuts. After seeing the updated versions, I decided to black out some of the polished bits to get rid of the "petal" effect. It's not the best job, as I should've rounded off the tips a little, but I think it's an improvement Before & after
  10. Removed both mufflers from my 2011 aurion to see what it sounded like, & because I've gotten bored with the car. Suprisingly, these engines have a nice burbly note, & at full throttle a bit like a sportscar along with a hectic double pop between gears in manual mode. Volume isn't toooooo loud, I'd say 6.8/10 Ive read the this mod won't do anything other than make noise.... Rubbish. There is a clear increase in acceleration at full throttle, & my fuel consumption went down even with harder driving. Wonderful. Now for the bad stuff...... There's a massive resonant drone @2200-2300rpms mainly when the transmission is in too high of a gear for the speed, which with damn autos, is most of the time. The drone is pretty deafening & it has to go so I won't be getting straight pipe made up to replace the factory setup. Below is a Pic how it looks now I've got 2 oval resonators ready to fit on Friday to combat this drone. The idiots sent me 2 different brands, but the specs are the same. 16" x 5" x 3" and will be fitted with 2" pipe along with a pair of decent sized tips. I'm hoping the volume won't change too much, but the drone dies. Will update how I go. If the issue is still there, then will do a pair of J-pipes which I've worked out to be 29.4" long for this engine at those rpms
  11. yeah been meaning to have a closer look, but it seems a bit of mucking around to remove the seat plastic
  12. All done. Drivers side was plug n play...... all wires and plugs exactly the same. However the height function doesnt work, which is pretty damn upsetting as the wreckers shouldve checked the seats out properly before selling them. Passenger side......... easy enough to wire in if you get the power plug for the electric base!!!. Manual base & electric share same airbag (yellow) plug. Manual loom has a white plug with 2 wires for buckle/occupancy. Electric loom plug uses these buckle/occupancy wires and shares it with the power wires (pos/neg) into a single bigger white plug Oakwood leather soap cleaned them up good. Big difference clean vs dirty, and this is before the applying the conditoning cream !!!
  13. i think ive found the plug which i'll tap into for power. according to the manual its the green wire in the white "N27" plug.
  14. Ive purchased Zr6 electric seats (currently in transit) for my 2011 touring. I figured since ive already got an electric driver's as standard, it 'should' be plug and play, and i could run some wires over to the passanger side....... but after having a look, there are a couple plugs and i dont know which ones do what or which i should run over to the other side for power? I downloaded the pdf manual but its way to confusing for me Coming out of the floor on the drivers side is a yellow plug (airbag i assume),........ a white plug (2 wires= green & white/black stripe)........ grey plug (4 wires= white & black & red & green)
  15. thats pretty bad. i wouldnt wash a filter thats not made to be washable though. Water tends to destroy single use elements
  16. Couldnt reach where i needed to, so rags piled up behind eachother did the trick. Then the rattle popped up again few days later, then disappeared just as quick. Now gotta find one near the rear window....
  17. thanks Akkadian will leave it now i reckon, dont really want too much vinyl going on..... plus i cant see myself being able to do any more without making a mess of things
  18. Ive seen quality cabin filters in a car for years, and unless u like breathing in mould spores & white powdered particles of broken up filter, i would suggest getting the cheap stuff, and rotate between cleaning/replacing every service. Just my thoughts..
