  1. Probably should.... Dont want to burn any bridges though
  2. rang a brake shop, and now im getting it done for over $100 less, love how he was transparent in the fact its a 30min job. Great. so i ring toyota to cancel the brake flush, but still keen to go ahead with the wheel alignment, and they had no issue with that
  3. Spend an extra $6 per tank for premium, which wouldve bought an extra 4.6 litres of 91 @ $1.30L Then think how many km's 4.6 litres of 91 would got you..... Is premium actually that economical?
  4. Done the last service myself, apart from the brake fluid flush as i thought i'd leave that up to the pro's Almost everywhere on the internet $99 seems a fair price for new brake fluid. Toyota quoted me $170, and since theyre doing a wheel alignment for me, im biting the bullet to get both done at same time. Thing is they dont understand, they can rip me off & make some extra $$ from me now, but i will never be going back there for mechanical work unless i really have to, so they lose.
  5. Nice work krigeroz with the lights, inspired me to do something with mine, will msg you instead.
  6. Its 18-20% tint....... not limo, had it on every car ive owned and never had this problem. Can you recommend any brighter lights for the rear that will work?
  7. I find the headlights on mine to be very narrow which has become increasingly noticable since i fitted 18% tint. Pulling into my driveway at night is a guessing game until the car straightens up Also while im here, i want to upgrade the miserable reverse lights with cree led's. They will be 16w, do i need error free versions?
  8. Thank you for the comments!! Did a little more today, as ive never been happy with the over abundance of silver in the dash/console. The woodgrain splits it up a little, similar look to the earlier accord euro's...... but i hope to never again have to remove that flip door pocket thingy, what a pain!!!! I couldnt remove it without ruining the spring (was this part put together by aliens?) then had HEAPS of fun bending it 50 different ways & re-engineered it to do its job sitting in a different spot
  9. Wanted a luxo looking interior in my touring SE. After fitting a presara steering wheel, i couldnt afford the crazy prices the wreckers were asking for a couple bits of fake woodgrain, so i imported some high quality vinyl from the U.S. and went to work. I never realized when ordering the vinyl, it had a matte finish, bit of a bummer, but im pleased with it being my first attempt at vinyl wrapping anything
  10. its disgusting how there wasnt a recall on these cars for the ruined dash. Yes im aware theres people getting looked after, and being the original owner helps alot, but i betcha theres 10x more people who are being turned away, given the conversation i had with toyota whilst researching these cars before i purchased My 17 year old fairmont sat in the sun for its entire life & the dash looked beautiful when i sold it, how did toyota get this wrong?
  11. Car isnt supposed to be submerged in water. Youll find once u stop driving through flooded roads, this issue will go away
  12. Thats better than factory figures Tony? I drive with a light foot and 12.5 is the best i can get which is reasonable for a 1500kg 200kw V6. Better than 19.5L i was getting in my previous car lol
  13. MY11 gets 12.5L around town, pretty sedate driving. Highway not sure yet as i couldnt work out how to bring up the consumption meter when i first bought the car driving back
  14. Thanks, im happy with it. Removing the cluster, also gave me access to fix an annoying rattle in the dash next to the drivers side tweeter. Jammed some rags above the aircon ventilation tube and all good. Absolutely stoked as i thought id have to live with that loud rattle forever
  15. Really wanted the sportivo blue lights, and rather than spend $100 on a cluster from ebay, i got inspired by thread on here to use coloured plastic, in this case from my kids school books haha Was tempted to go crazy with it, but chose to keep it a factory look as with everything im doing with this car. Comparision
  16. yep i found out today the 0.1L stays inside the engine, and 6L is enough to fill it. Regarding the oil filter, the middle section wanted to turn with the whole filter so i didnt bother with that as i couldnt really see any way of holding the outside still.
  17. So is changing whatever oil pours out (30%) going to be beneficial? Do these transmissions have a history of failing at a certain amount of kms? I ask because i was going to have this done at my next service, but dont want to throw money away for nothing
  18. so where would one go to from there? Just curious, because the dealership was trying to wipe their hands of any involvment
  19. While on the hunt for a used aurion, i contacted my local dealership regarding this issue to see if a melted dash was a deal breaker or not, and was told they evaluate these on a case by case basis, and you have to be the original owner. Would not like to try my luck there!!!
  20. dont want anything on a platter. just didnt think swapping steering wheels made me a pioneer? and you can see my last two posts contained info, hoping it would help someone else out, i certainly didnt mean to offend!! while im here, does anyone know if the silver dash spears just pull off? Its a shame you dont see many presara bling pieces on ebay, inner chrome handles, woodgrain etc
  21. Wheel came in the mail today, bolted up fine, changed button pads...... happy days. Im a little surprised nobody had a definitive answer, because this is one of the most easiest things ive done on a car lol. As long as you change over your original button pads, changing wheels is a breeze, although im not sure about the paddle shift wheels? now will order some rosewood woodgrain vinyl wrap and attempt to do the door & dash spears and i will be happy with the interior
  22. mechanic checked, everything ok apart from minor scrape in the flexible exhaust joint causing minor leak.
  23. was told by seller AFTER i paid for it/posted that it will require different clockspring, im not sure why, but its more info than anyone here has offered. Will update.
  24. figured that the button pads swap over easy enough so i guess the answer is yes & have gone ahead and purchased
  25. Did a search on the site couldnt find the answer. Can a presara steering wheel fit & work properly on my 2011 Touring aurion? Im not concerned about the extra buttons not working for the climate control, hands free phone etc. just would like to know if the original buttons i already have will still work as normal and if the wheel itself is a straightforward installation. Cheers !!!!
