I see you put stage 3 cams as a mod you would do in the future. Interested in my ported head?
-
do you still have the head, and do you have the flow chart for it?
Yes still have the head. No chart I'm afraid.
-
omg... i didnt know u had the c-one cooling panel... :( i would have taken it off you when i got the seats.
it was for facelift only anyway
oh yeah true, i just reading up on it and they are different :) i'm thinking of fabricating my own since these are soo rare, paint it either red caliper or colour code it and chuck a TRD sticker on it HAHA :P
I wouldn't really say they are rare. More expensive when bought new. I should know I bought 2 lol.
Shame this car is being parted out...

How about an internal hex style lug evan? Not many people will have that style key
-
Lol either way you still owe me dosh hehe

The only real headers worth having on a 2ZZ are the PPE 4-1 headers. Much more gain in the top end.

Sucks about the swipe :(
Keep going with the mods. Save for the respray later. Perhaps you can cover it with some sort of sticker for now. That's what I had to do with my rear bumper. I like where this car is going btw

had a ride in a 2002 mx-5 today top down sunny day cold air intake and exhaust beautiful thing :P how does it compare to the tivo? in all honesty loved your tivo too mate pure class same as the mx-5
Cheers mate. I try to make my changes functional B) , but sometimes you need the extra rice :P
My MX5 is a completely different beast. The sussy is still relatively stock (only on lowered springs, stock Bilstein shocks and stock SE swaybars), but very 'crashy' over the bumps. More so than the D2s on the stivo. New suspension and sways would definitely make it handle like its on rails.
Btw if you (and others) weren't aware, SEs are turbo'd, but atm makes similar power to the stivo, albeit through the rear wheels :P . Full boost from the IHI VJ35 factory turbo (tiny lil thing!) comes on around 3500-4000rpm and redline is at 6500rpm, so definitely different there compared to the 8200rpm redline on the stivo. With an aftermarket ECU, injectors and current mods, it should be somewhere in the range of 170-180kW atw!
Oh and the Torsen LSD helps massively

That sucks Lee. I know how pedantic you are. Very much like me!
She'll be right in no time! Keep harassing the panel beaters until you are satisfied with the finished product. I had to chase mine up for 6 months till it was satisfactory <_<

Seat and cage are my favourite bits, and the rims ofcourse...Looks so hot, I can't see those white walls lasting too long
Looking forward to your new bits....
Thanks John. I'm actually contemplating selling these rims and getting something else. Something in the vicinity of 15x8, +0 offset Although I'll probably just wait till the tyres are shagged.
-
So I don't have many bits left. The thing I really want to get rid of is the 2ZZ-GE ported head. As I have explained before it is ported on both intake and exhaust sides. Valves and springs still intact. No cams, no valve cover, no manifolds.
$300
Also still have some genuine facelift headlight protectors for a ZZE12#
$50

A majority of the usual and original members of TOCAU.WA have disbanded; moved on or just aren't on here anymore. It's a shame. It was good times :(

Been a while since an update.
Not too much has happened.
I remounted my HID ballasts so they are out of the way:
And while the bumper was off I yellowed my foggies JDM spec yo! :P
Then I managed to get my hands on a relatively new Sparco Sprint V! For those who have been in MX5s, the seats aren't the most comfy, nor supportive in the twisties.
End result is a much more comfortable seat that sits me lower. Best part is that it bolts to the stock rails with very minor modifications.
Now just some happy snaps!
And what ya reckon with the white walls LOL
My gf has ordered me some awesome interior parts. Can't wait for when they come!

Hey guys still have some parts hanging around.
-2ZZ-GE ported head. Factory valves and springs still in tact. No cams or valve cover. $400 ONO.
-Genuine Toyota facelift headlight protectors. In pretty good nick. $50
-2005 Mazda MX5 SE wheels. 4x100, 17x7, +45 offset with 205/40/17 tyres all round. $550 ONO.

Headlights now sold!

Are you chasing boost? I'd keep the corolla, get some money and upgrade to something more fun later on.
For me, its going to be rwd, turbo and japanese.
That's why I got my MX5 :D
Turbo MX5 ftw!
I was thinking more along the lines of an S15. Something abit harder to drive!
Blarg! Who needs all that excessive weight
I can also wheelspin 1st and 2nd in the wet.
Back on topic a version 6 or version 5 sti is definitely worth it.

Umm you'd be losing out if it wasn't a version 6 sti or something..
-
Nice betty! What swayed you away from a similar priced peanut sti?
-
Yeah from the top. When you unclip all the clips you have to pull it out on a slight angle.

Qyestion about the head, Is the valves a ***** all stock its just porting thats been done? and its a bare head?
Yep all stock. The valves, springs and retainers remain, but there are no cams. It has been ported and cleaned on the intake and exhaust ports.
And yes bare head. No manifolds, cams or valve covers.
My new ride. Now its Team Red FTW!!!
