  2. Looks like he is a bit too over confident with himself, silly boy bolting on inters on the first lap of Q2. That was a very entertaining qualifying session, and awesome work from Vettel and Webber. Good to see the old Minardi crew getting a break. Keen to see how Vettel goes in the race tomorrow, Berger reckons they will be just as good in the dry :o And hope Webber doesn't do a Webber.

    JOKES !!!!

If you don't get it, look up Rick Roll
  4. Looks like Hamiltons head is getting bigger and bigger Lewis talking about this fight in the last few laps at Spa with Raikkonen: As anyone could tell Lewis, Kimi of anyone has the balls to put his car on the edge, the car he had at Spa simply just didn't have the grip to do so. We all can see Lewis is good in the wet, but say your great yourself is a bit
  5. Just make sure the awards are this big, and everyone will show up :D
  6. "It'll buff out" -so to speak :P Seriously, don't think thats too bad. My ABSi has done a lot worse :P
  7. Need to remember that a lot of parts and even cars were never intended to be sold and used outside of Japan, and in many cases, these items are sourced by or licensed to local resellers to market for them. I'm sure most of these JDM companies are still quite comfortable with their own domestic market, but are closing down their offshore branches or stopping production of certain items due to lack of business and just ****** off that their stuff gets copied as soon as they hit foreign shores after so much R&D. Yes there are many products which ranges from the softcore to hardcore levels. But you got to remember that these things don't sell in the millions like iPod. The volume of most parts sold are only in the hundreds maybe thousands. And as a manufacture knowing that, and have a hardcore product fresh off the R&D in your hand, would you really make and sell a softer/watered-down product that could potentially waste the time and money of 70-80% of your potential customers? Some of these JDM companies maybe a bit stubborn with their marketing I agree, but you get the feeling they are hardcore racers too, don't want to waste their own and the customers time with products not true to their own potential. One example on TOCAU is with the coilovers. We all know there are some great quality coilovers available to us but costs bunch, then came the cheaper watered-down variant. Many many of us jumped on (including myself), having later to find out it wasn't worth the effort nor the money. A good chunk of these people who got these "entry" level coilovers had simply just turned away completely from the whole thing (coilovers), which was a shame cause I and some others went on and bit the bullet and got the coilovers that costed a kidney and realised how they were supposed to be and couldn't be happier.
  8. One thing to note here is that car parts are not just about fashion and looks, it needs to be of quality; unlike fake designer jeans or Hermes/LV Bags. The main issue here is that the Japanese take great pride in the quality of their work, and when other people make replicas of their trademark design of lesser quality, it tarnishes their name and reputation. Unfortunately its much harder to distinguish between real and replica car parts, compared to say fake LV bags. Therefore what these Jap companies fear most is when people who have only seen photos of their items on websites/magazines, will one day see a replica thinking its genuine and think "Damn it looked a lot better on net and the quality are a bit dodgy too. These crazy Japs are full of BS!" So in the end of the day its not about their failure to penetrate the world market or make its so cheap that every boy-racer can fit their items as a fashion statement, but rather for real car enthusiasts who will fork out the big cash cause at least they can understand and appreciate what they are buying. Yes, some of these JDM companies are closing down or discontinuing items due to competition from the replica making companies, but a good part of it is their way of saying a big F-U we're not going to associate ourselves with the other rubbish being sold. Everyone wants cheap AND quality, but most of the time you can only get one.

  13. Pressure gauge? What the space tool is that? I just let some air out and feel how fast it comes out
  14. Yeah I have no problem with their service and prices, in fact they're the best compared to most places. And Cameron was the one that recommended me to the RE001 :D Just wish they could hire people in the workshop that is smart enough to do something as basic as filling 4 tyres with the same pressure.
  15. I've been through a few tyre places here in Brisbane, and have to say there is not one shop that I'm completely happy with. Just want to share some the dodgy things I've seen and also the good things (to be fair). Hopefully others will make some posts on their experiences and warnings, so the members can be better advised next time out. Brisbane ones: Bob Jane on Kessels Rd Macgregor Cons: Rip off, if the monkeys in the workshop can't fit the blocks under your lowered car they will lift your car up by the fenders and therefore bend it, and sales staff are arrogant. Pros: none Bottom line: Stay the hell away Bob Jane Underwood Cons: bought 4 brand new tyres from them with 4 different tyre pressures (ranging from 28-36) , very slow to get the job done on 4 occasions but they are usually pretty busy. Pro: Friendly service, gave good advice on quality tyres and a good deal Bottom line: Would go back, but check everything afterwards Ozzytyres Coopers Plains Cons: Most arrogant and hustling staff I've ever seen (they seriously think they are too cool for someone that works in a tyre store), promise a load of extras to make it seem like a good deal but won't deliver (like good tyres we orginally agreed on but decided to change in the last minute) and will drag things out. Gave us back our car with new chrome wheels without center hub rings!!! The workshop staff look like they will take turns on taking your car out back for burn outs, and make a copy of your key if you blink. Pros: They do stock some unique wheels Bottom line: go if you have to, otherwise stay the hell away, worse place I've been Jax Slacks creek Cons: Tried to rip me off for wheel alignment. Asked them not to use airguns due to the design of my lock lug-nuts, but of course they still used it anyway. Have no idea how to adjust the camber on coilovers, only one dude did, and it still took him ages. Pros: can't think of any Bottom line: there are better places Jax Macgregor Cons: They've gone bankrupt :( Pros: Cheap and quality alignment, workshop personnel knows what they're doing, even used a torque bar to tighten the lug-nuts without request (seems those days are over). Great waiting room. If anyone in Brisbane know of a good tyre place please post, as all the ones around my place are dodgy as
  16. Track report: Very very very very happy with these. There's two things to look for when on track, grip and stability, and this tyre has loads of both. Wish I could give you guys a time advantage with these on track, but I've had a few mods since the last time I was out, plus it was a different track layout. BUT, before I wouldn't dare to go over turn 1 (QR) much over 110kph and now I do 125kph quite comfortably (even 130kph once, but was a little scary). Note: I've also changed my coilovers from D2 to Zero2 too, so that would have played a part of the increase in cornering speed and stability too. The outer edge did take some beating (only on the most loaded tyre, front left), but nothing too serious for me to worry about.
  17. Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load! The story: Nineteen-year-old Ravi Bhatia is all over news channels past few days. This small town boy has dashed off a legal notice to the makers of Dadagiri. He's upset with what happened on the reality show. Reality shows may have their fixed scripts and sensational turn of events, but Ravi is in no mood to take things lying down. "This incident occurred four months ago. The participants of the show had to pass through the litmus test of abuses and spats. And it was all scripted! We were all given our parts where 70 per cent was to be said as is and 30 per cent would be improvisations," says Ravi. "There was this girl called Isha opposite me who was supposed to abuse me and I was to retaliate, but calmly. After a while when it came to improvisations, I presume she was out of words and came and slapped me hard. I was shocked and in the heat of the moment, I slapped her back. That led to the entire unit of about 70 people jumping on me beating me black and blue. It was a miracle in itself that I managed to escape from there," he says. So how did this incident get flashed in the media now? "Luckily for me, somehow the tapes got leaked out and they were being shown on all the channels. I got myself a copy from one of the news channels and was happy that finally I acquired the proof to support me. And this time I will not be quiet. Just because they have power, it doesn't give them the licence to pull down people. I have sent a legal notice to the producers and asked for an apology publicly for defamation," avers Ravi, who is currently working in Ekta Kapoor's Kahaani Humare Mahaabharat Ki on 9X.
  18. For the people that's never been to the "train" before. You enter the undercover carpark on Albion Rd off Hudson Rd Map pin
  19. Some pics from the day Team DDR B) Race prep HSV GTS GT3 RS
  20. This is my best lap of the day (1:11.4) The black car in front is a HSV GTS. Its V8 hammers down the straight but on average was only a second or two faster per lap :P Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!
  21. I'm sure theres plenty of track videos of club members, so post them up and share them :) I'll go first :P This one is me having some fun with a WRX at QR clubman circuit last week. Managed to get past and hold him off for a few laps. But my poor little 1ZZ Auto was no match down the straight :( still had loads of fun though :D Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!
  22. I'd keep your stock rims as I can't imagine the tyre shop giving you a decent price for them.
  23. If only the good old inkjet printer was as fast :P
  24. I'd like to beg the differ, i reckon Tokyo Drift was the best :P it had a lot more hawt cars and hawt chix B) and the storyline was bearable 2 Fast 2 Furious was by far the worse of the three.
