  1. With anything aftermarket, if they can pin the fact that the 'modification' caused the problem, they will not cover you.

I am pretty sure it says somewhere in the fine print of warranty that whenever a car is modified, warranty becomes void ...

i think that the warrantee is only void for the suspension components if you've modified the suspension... i.e if you have an engine failure it should still be covered. However its only if they somehow can prove that the lowered car contributed to it, say if an engine component is rubbing on the ground or something due to the car being too low... but I beleive technically if the modification and the failure are unrelated, then you will still be covered.

That said i think those 'checks' are full of crap... all they do is tap around with spanners and have a look... for $99 i wouldn't bother... if they do the service properly, they should have already covered anything that could go wrong.

mopiko as in the cream for mozzie bites ?

I tells you what they do at that service, they loosen bolts and cut cables so you have to go back in 12 months to fix those items :P (that's a bit ctnical isn't it)

thats why u make it loose 1st b4 they fix it

  2. hope ur car is still under warranty

clutch adjustment needs to be done.. 90% of 03 model corolla sportivos had that problem.

my car is JUST out of warranty, (03 stivo) and i think i need the clutch adjustment done as well as sometimes when i hit lift i hear a rattle / vibration from the gear box area.

Can ones normal mechanic do the job? (can they find out the info from Toyota?) - if your out of warranty, what would it cost to get the adjustment done?

that noise will be your gear selectors :)

clutch adjustment can b done at any mechanic.. but if u have warranty than do it at toyota (FREE) =)

The cost without warranty im unsure... but i think its like $50-100 for them to inspect the problem.

  3. Yer the 1zz is sufficient enough. Go a sedan if ur gunna mod it. Just a bit more un-common and I reckon they look like a baby lexus with a nice set of 18s on it.

Im gunna be in the market for a new car soon. Im waiting for the new suzuki GTI. If its turbo and well priced im interested. Other than that I'm hoping the next gen corolla sportivo is a jackhammer like the 3 MPS. If not im holding out til this comes out. Hopefully they bring out a 3 door Tiida with a meaty engine that looks like this concept.

on that pic.. is that a nissan gti-r baby godzilla?

  4. Woohoo!!! I will get a chance to drive the MX5, RX8, MPS6 and MPS3 at Oran Park on Friday! It's the Mazda Performance Drive Day, i got the invite from playing a game  however its only for a lap i think in each car, better than nothing though.

    pick me up ? :(

i would man if u r not in Melbourne  and if my car is not full! I have a couple of people wanting to come as well and i am not even sure if i can bring spectators. Maybe let me get back to you ;)

    its a date

    '

I think its ur TRD short shifter.. lemmi trial it on my car to see if the problem can b fixed?

  6. sportivo stock should pump out about 103.5-105 kws atw.

    depending on the weather also..

yes it does feel slow if u r from Turbo to NA.. but its fun when u drag cars without lift, coz u actually see the lift pulling you away

i had a gti-r before.. but cant compare turbo to NA. :)
