  1. Hey, Firstly i apologise for this post... there is just so much stuff in the previous 18 pages.. i'm just trying to clear the details up seeing it's only a week away... ............................................... Date: Sunday 29th June 2008 Time: Location: Duration: ............................................... Apologies again... but im really interested, just dependant on time of day
  2. Im not sure quite how many mp3 cd's i will need to hold my 125gig of music but it's close to 180cds which i might have trouble fitting into the glove box...hehe
  3. Yeah, i found that with the aurion badges and for me the sportivo and sx6 badge came off with the adhesive still attached to the badge
  4. Yeah... Hairdryer worked for me and using a Credit card to help prise it off...
  5. That stretch of road is located between Eucla and Noresman (part of the Nullabor drive).. Its a nice one That pic wasnt taken by me - that's speeding and illegal... But hypothetically the car was kicking back just before 250 and in like 245 and it wouldnt sit on cruise any higher than 200 (hypothetically of course!) Im a fan of the rims and theyve got the same physical rolling size of the stock wheels and rims (Just a larger wheel, smaller profile tyre) so it means i can still drive on the stock spare. Those red sticker on the side body moulding is a decal it semi-shimers at night... Ive got 2metre blacklights mouted underneath each side so when you walk past at night there is a nice glow on your shoes hehe! and it makes the decal look pretty good. Just about to get some tinting done and then thats probably enough for this car.. i think i might look at getting another Aurion, probably not a TRD - i still cant justify spending that much cash, but getting another aurion (ZR6) with 0km on the clock would be nice.. Sort of waiting for a second version release.... Anyone got tips on window tint, ive had a few quotes but im not sure on percentages and levels of tint... Comments?
  6. And if anyone is after a really nice drive try this section of australia out..
  7. Just hitting 50000km time for some new wheels & tyres... My latest purchase: Ive attached a screenshot of a dash from an Aurion... dont know whose it is...hehe
  8. I'll update my spreadsheet and post that as well because i consistently get much lower readings... It's most likely due to the distances i drive (i do alot of longer drives than city driving). And i have been known to "angel gear" down hills.... hehe My best run is from Melbourne to Canberra @ 6.7... I literally filled up at the Shell with V-Power racing and drove... Find pic below As ive said in previous posts, im really happy with the fuel performance of the car, and im not trying to promote V-Power racing, but i seem to get really good results.
  9. Ive my aurion since january and apart from someone backing into me 3 days after i got it....(driving across the nullaboar as well). The only real thing ive had a complaint about was the dash rattle that has been mentioned in a previous topic. Which ive noted for the next service which is on thursday... what i was quite surprised about was the fact that the service guy didnt know what i was talking about... But all in all, ive drove just on 40,000km and the car has been great. I'll echo the comments of the people above in regards to the bad luck on getting a lemon.
  10. As i said in my posts above i found Shell V-Power racing to be the best fuel for my driving anyway.... Everytime i have filled up it has been $1.54 and ive got an actual fleet card as opposed to a branded card and it lets me fill up with V-Power Racing....hooray
  11. Just saw a truck load of them... literally a truck load im driving along and as normal saw the aurions on the back..... then im like .. hang on its got reverse parking sensors ... but a spoiler... what... presara? and then i saw the Touring Badge and went ahhhhh .... They look very.... AT-X with a kit and sprinkle....hehe
  12. I Will Make The Comment that Shell V-Power Racing (100 Octane) Shell V-Power (98 Octane) Just to clear it up... i had a very in depth conversation with a guy today who was trying to say that there is no difference..... which i kindly pointed out the 20cents per litre price difference, which happened to drop his jaw a little... hehe And i notice no signifigant difference between Caltex Vortex 98 and Shell V-Power (98 Octane)... But since i hit the 30000km mark ive been running the car on nothing but V-Power Racing (100 Octane) and the results are remarkably different. (See Below from spreadsheet) V-Power Racing 729/7.2/Highway V-Power Racing 751/7.1/Highway V-Power Racing 699/7.9/City V-Power Racing 739/7.0/Highway V-Power Racing 681/8.2/Highway Here's a dashshot (sorry .. its mobile phone quality) [
  13. Just wanted to know if anyone has had thier dash fixed/stopped rattling...??? Im just over 35000km now approaching the 37'500 service so im going to be asking about it then. Because it seems to be progressivly getting worse, especially with the A/C on cold, and coming onto summer... its going to be getting cranked up to the max.
  14. Sorry for taking a while....(work calls) Ive got all the photos ready for the Radio Backlight Mod, and i'll chuck them up shortly. Just got to put some words with them.... Cheers
  15. Ive tried Shell V-Power Racing Caltex Vortex 98 BP Ultimate (mainly because i refuse to put anything but premium fuel in my aurion) But ive had far better results with V-power Racing i count my fuel from when i fill up, till when the trip computer says 0km cruise range V-Power Racing 733/7.0/Highway Caltex Vortex 98 689/7.5/Highway BP Ultimate 694/7.9/Highway i found that driving around the city, the fuel type doesnt make that much difference.
  16. I went and bought another badge from toyota (i had the part no but not any more) and then i just took that piece out and stuck the sportivo bit there. It looks ok.. and keeps the car semi-genuine.
  17. Now i know that there is a variety of ways to do this. And that this may not be the best. But its what ive done and it works well for me. I dissasembelled the end of a doble adapter extension cord for 12v and fed it through a small hole in the top of the ashtray. which when you have the angled panel at the front closed you cant see. (see picture above). and then i plugged all my 12v accessories into the double adapter/ however many things you can put on there, i only needed 3 so i put only three in. So ive got a mobile phone charger, which feeds around to the drivers side into that little coin pocket beside your left leg. and my phone sits in there. I fed the navman charger up behind the dash and through where on the presara i believe is the seat adjust buttons thingo just to the right of the wheel. (im sure you can find another spot. And my black lights which go to both the passenger and driver side. Thats the frame arund the infamous backlight you need to get the allen key thingo that opens those pictured. (I'll refer to this in later posts)
  18. As mentioned above. This is what you should see once youve got the console open. I'll refer to this one later on, but its how ive soft mod'd instead of cutting wires. I'll refer to this later as well, This is the frame behind the accesory panel, if your going to install that dimmer switch or audio jack, this will become your new best-worst friend
  19. Accessory Power - Ive installed a Phone charger, Navman, and 3.5mm jack (what you would use for an Ipod for example) and all the cables are hidden. Find Below... The Console Before Starting... You need to take the shifter off, it just unscrews like normal but to lift the actual console off acround it, it needs to be in neutral otherwise even with the shifter off it will catch. The easiest way i found is to turn the car to 'on' and then depress brake put the car in neutral and then turn it back to 'acc'. Get the console off (see below) and then return the shifter to the 'P' and turn off the car. If you lift the lid on the dickie seat, both the tray and deep lids, you can see where the console meets it and you should be able to open it up by applying pressure upwards there, it maybe a little stiff. Once you've got it seperated lift it over the shifter and then to a side (the opposite to where your sitting usually is best)
  20. Wow, I just read the topic and went 'yep same problem here'.. I found my squeek is reduced when i turn the heater on full and have the air directed up to the windscreen and versa if i have the air con on full at the windscreen it gets worse... I thought that it may just be my car, seeing i bought it in Jan 2007 in WA, and then drove it across the Nullaboar in 46 degrees. But is sounds like a universal issuue. Im going to ask the service guys to take a look. My Aurion is going in for its 22500 service althought its already pushing 25000km. Ill post and let you know the feedback / result
