  1. The SatNav unit in the Aurion cannot retreive phonebook data from the iPhone. Only specific phones work in this scenario. I have an iPhone and it works fine except for the phonebook transfer feature, which this I used an old Nokia N95 for. (had my phonebook on it prior to going an an iPhone) The iPhone does not have this capability hence why it does not work on the SatNav unit. Tofuboi, So is the Iphone able to use the phone book which you had previously loaded to the Satnav? Derek.
  2. This is my 07 Silver Presara with the Lexus Style Grill. Derek.
  3. Please can anyone confirm that if these smart keys have been previously registered to a vehicle then they CAN NOT be reused on another vehicle! Example; One from a Wrecked vehicle being reused. A service adviser at my local Toyota Dealer told me this! He said to be careful of the ones on Ebay.
  4. Hello JIN, Can you please give us a quick rundown on what is required to Remove original Grill to do the replacement. Does the bumper have be removed etc. Thanks Derek.
  5. Hi Freddo, The Lowering of the Mirrors when in reverse only occurs when the Mirror Selector switch ( Used when adjusting the positon of mirrors ) is NOT in the center position. You can leave it in the center position when you do not require the mirrors to lower. Regards Derek.
  6. Hello Aurion ZR6, I just checked the Manuals and it looks like the Connector is "F13" position 5, See Photo below. Where did the "H" connector diagram come from? The reason I need it is because I have a very low Trailer and cant see it in the rear vision mirror. Also I just like to "play with switches" When I do the Modification I'll let you know. Regards Derek. Well, it took a while but I did it, connected a toggle switch to Pin 5 on connector F13 to 12V+ and it works great. The Warning to "check surrounds"is still there but I can not tun on the Reversing Camera any time I wish. All the best Derek.
  7. There's a factory reversing camera? o.O? Is that just for Presara or u can actually install it on ZR6? How much did it cost u btw.. Hi VF-X Camera is standard on Presara and is included in price of car, If you have Factory Sat Nav option, I guess it should work. Maybe someone that has the Factory Sat nav Option can tell us what is Displayed on the Nav screen when they put their car in Reverse? Does the Screen change and a warning appear at botton of screen? Derek.

  9. Hello All, I have a 2007 Presara fitted standard with factory reversing camera, My Question is: Has anyone worked out a way to activate the Reversing camera without putting the car into reverse? I'm hoping its just a matter of installing a toggle switch to override it. Preferably without the reversing lights coming on. Thanks Derek.
  10. Hi Quark, One day I left my ignition on in the car ( not use to the press button then ) and about an hour later I get a phone call on my moble phone from a Toyota link operator to tell me that the battery in my car is getting low. Hows that!!!!!!!!!!! I love it. Derek.
  11. Hello All, I thought I would share this you all, I have a 6 Month old Presara that has done only 5900K, nearly all city driving. I have noticed that bugs are being caught in the radiator fins and causing the alloy to be discoloured, as well as their bodies blocking the radiator fins. See Photo A, Note: I removed the bugs with a water hose before this photo was taken So in an attempt to reduce this I have fitted a Aluminum insect Screen in front of the radiator, the screen is secured at the top and bottom via an alloy rail screwed to the bottom brace and the top radiator mounts. See Photo B This View is Front of radiator with screen fitted. I think if you are doing a lot of country traveling a Bug Screen fitted to the Aurion will be worth while in the long term. Derek.
  12. No Oil Change Sorry, My was NOT washed or Vacuumed, but I did get a FREE Coffee and Biscuit while waiting for the courtesy bus. Derek.
  13. OK There is a trick too it. After much experimenting. To TURN OFF TRACTION CONTROL The Procedure below MUST be completed quickly, less than 30 Secs from my testing. 1. Make sure the car is in Park and the parking brake is disengaged before you start the car. 2. Start the engine. 3. Engage the parking brake. 4. Fully depress the brake pedal and then release. 5. Fully depress the brake pedal and then release. 6. Disengage the parking brake. 7. Fully depress and hold down the brake pedal. 8. Engage the parking brake, then disengage it (while holding down the brake pedal). 9. Engage the parking brake, then disengage it (while holding down the brake pedal). 10. Release the brake pedal. 11. Engage the parking brake. 12. Fully depress the brake pedal and then release. 13. Fully depress the brake pedal and then release. Good Luck & Drive Safely Derek
  14. Derek, could you please update or modify the steps below since you got it work because if I follow the steps below it doesn't work. Thanks 1. Mash, This is strange, The instuctions above are correct as far as I know, ( It did work last weekend for me ) But now I'm having trouble getting it to work, I suspect it's a timing issue. ( or I'm not holding my mouth in the correct position ) I'll see if I can work it out and let you know. Derek.
  15. Hello MASH, Ive now been able to turn off the TRC via the procedure I detailed above, ( With car in Park ) But I was unable to turn it off via your procedure while in drive, I must be doing something wrong. Maybe the foot brake needs to be held on when doing the two park brake operations , If so, that wasnt in your description. Derek.
  16. Hi Derek, Cool, maybe you can share the procedure. Anyways, sorry about the spelling mistake, meant to be 'brake'. Ok when I say brake, I mean the normal brake pedal. Foot brake = hand brake. So - Put in drive with foot brake (handbrake) locked - press brake 2 times (normal brake) then foot brake 2 times (must see the handbrake light turn on and off 2 times), then normal brake again 2 times. It will take some practise. It takes me maybe 2 or 3 goes sometimes.. thats why I don't play around with it too much, once you get it, on the right corner you will see the icon light up. Let me know how you go. I'll Try yours later. I have not been able to get this procedure below to work as far ( No light comes on at least) May you can get it working! Member DKzr6 Posted this in June 2007 see Topic heading "Aurion ASC: Has anyone worked out how to turn it off?" Hey, THe method below works. But you need to do each time you start the car if you want the TC off. By default it turns back on each time you start the car. Its a bit convoluted, but i tried it and i works. Good Luck. I let you how I go later. Derek
  17. Hello Mash, I seen another more involved procedure else where on this forum, Regarding your procedure, I'm having trouble understanding exactly what to do, 1. Brake is spelt incorrectly. ( no big problem ) 2. I'm not sure if your refering to the Foot operated "Park Brake" or the main "Brake Pedal" which is also foot operated. Please rewrite and specify EXACTLY the procedure. Thanks in advance Derek
  18. Have you talked to your Toyota Dealer about the Genuine Toyota Headlight protectors? I have a Presara fitted with toyota headlight & bonnet protectors, they seem fine to me.
  19. Lol... really Umm i dont think there is a way to force it to play DVD's...... so im guessing you paid a $2000 dollar GPS unit, toyota would be smiling. Well did you ask which one you are getting?, if you didnt you can guess by the price of it. over 3k RRP will be the factory looking not black one... i paid over 3k so it should be the silver one then. :) i asked her which 1 i would get and the lady told me that theres only 1 sort and that its the factory fitted version. i just dont want to be shocked last minute if i see an ugly black thing in the middle of the console. :D i paid over 3k so it must be the good looking one :) why is the black version also cheaper? i couldnt also find any features of the sat-nav. would there be any info in the aurion manual? Well according to the Toyota website, its basically the same as the stock unit unit, minus 2 cd slots, plus GPS and bluetooth which generally comes with gps units anyways these days. http://www.toyota.com.au/Accessories/acces...64_1312,00.html (though this ones for the black unit). Im guessing the black one is cheaper because its a pretty much like an aftermarket option, doesnt blend as well as the silver one and plus the silver one i assume Toyota assembles these whereas the black one is probably from a cheapo company rebranded. Some thing I just noticed is the Black version has a AUX input, which is definitely NOT on the Factory fitted version. And the Black one does not have FM2 ( I dont what this is, but it hasnt got a button for it )
  20. You Didnt read the post, he said he had sat nav! Which means it is a 4 x CD NOT a 6 x CD Happy New Year to ALL Aurion owners.
  21. Hello Drew, No that was not what I needed, Thanks Anyway Derek
  22. I've just brought a 2nd Hand Smart Key for my Aurion Presara, It’s exactly the same as my other two keys. I believe it’s from a wrecked Aurion. Does any one know how to 1. Wipe the memory of the 2nd Hand key. (If necessary that is) 2. Assign this new key to the car so I have three Smart keys? Any Help would be appreciated. Regards DerekD
  23. Ahhhhhhhh I see, Thanks Unknown2 That answers a lot of questions. The Mod to Bypass the Nav system " Safety Feature" does NOT affect the I agree screen. But I have just fitted the VAIS Ipod interface from http://www.advancedice.com.au/ and with this interface the agree screen is no longer there. Hello AL-Sayegh I'm sure there will be a "Fix" for your problem, but as your Nav System is Not used in the USA or Australia, its going to be difficult. There is No reference to "Park Brake" on the Australian/US Block diagram. See Photo Below. Good Luck.
  24. You forgot to answer the MOST IMPORTANT Question , What procedure do you do to get the DVD to play? The Mod I used to get around the Nav system 'Safety Feature' has been posted previously, BUT here it is again. This little modification works for me I have a new Pressara, I put the switch into the Ashtray area, just to the Left of the ashtray. This is from the US Toyota Owners Club Forum, "Toyota Owners Club - USA > General Toyota > General Toyota Discussions" Originally entered by Member vic334 2007 Camry Navigation Modification to enter destinations while moving, Adding a switch to defeat the speed sensor There is a way to enter destinations while driving. I added a switch in the back of the center cubby. If you pull the radio/navigation unit out of the dash there is a gray plug that has 3 wires. The center wire is purple/violet colored and this is the speed sensor. When you are moving more that 5 mph the speed sensor ghosts out the input buttons on the screen keeping you from entering destination info to your nav unit. I cut this wire and connected a 2 wire speaker size line to the free ends of the violet wire and put 2 terminals on the other end and connected these to my secret switch in the back of the cubby. This works like magic. Going down the road I flip this switch and the ghosted out destination buttons on the screen light right up. If you are mechanically inclinded at all this is relatively easy to do. The only part I couldn't do myself was remove the air condition vent above the navi unit. Your dealer or a stereo installation place could do it for you. There are winged clips 2 on each side of the vent unit which must be pushed inward on both sides before the vent assembly comes out. After this you unscrew the shifter knob remove the 2 wings on either side of the cubby by pulling them straight out toward the back of the car. Then you remove the trim around the shifter pull it straight up and back. Then remove the top of the center console by lifting it straight up. Remove the 2 phillips screws holding the cubby in and remove it. The entire radio/navi unit and aircond controls are 1 unit and are held in by 2 10mm bolts on top and 2 on the bottom. The radio unit then pulls straight out of the dash. There are 8 or more connectors plugged into the back of the radio but you are looking for a gray plug in the middle of all these with 3 wires with the center wire being violet/purple, the speed sensor. I soldered my wires but you could use crimp connectors and a rocker switch #275-693 from radio shack. I used a dremel tool to cut a hole out in the back of the cubby between the power point socket and the ipod connector. I knew this could be done because I did a similiar deal to my 2006 prius. This procedure works perfectly on both cars and now I dont have to pull over on the interstate for my passenger to input things into the navigation. This may also allow you to input into your bluetooth phone but I haven't tried this yet, but I know there is only one speed sensor on the back of the navi unit. The prius has multiple speed sensors to the display so there are more wires to cut if you want to enable all the features once you are on the move. You will notice when you activate your secret switch the little wheels on the consumption screen will stop moving just like you are stopped. I know the early 2007 camry had a secret diagnostic screen you could access and people think version 5.1 of the nav DVD is the thing that enables this override button, but from my discussions with technicians the lockout is built int the nav unit itself and not controlled by the DVD disc, I have version 6.1 in my car. I had a toyota service tech look up the wiring diagram to tell me which wire was the speed sensor. I wish I knew how to post pictures but this description is pretty good. As long as you are gentle you won't break anything, but you will need to have a special tool or help getting the aircond vent out to do this. Hope this helps everyone. I just couldn't help it, I hated being locked out of my nav unit going down the road. This would also be a good time to add an XM receiver unit to your car as the radio must be brought out from the dash to plug in the XM harness into the back of the radio. The XM receiver mounts in the right side of the trunk above the battery, the antenna mounts under the back window next to the 3rd brake light. I got my unit from camelback toyota in arizona for 159.00 and the fit kit for 80.00. Be sure to get the 15 page installation instructions available only from a dealer and you can put this XM in yourself and save $200-300 labor. It takes some time 2-3 hours but since you are removing the radio anyway you might consider it.
  25. Hello 'AL-Sayegh', Please clarify a few points, Are you saying that you have been able to play & view a DVD movie on the Aurions Standard Nav Screen when the Car is stationarty in "Park" and has the park brake on ? If so, What Model Aurion do you have? What year? What Nav System Manufacturer ( If known ) and software version? Also what part of the world are you in? What 'Region' is the DVD? Can you post a photo of a DVD playing? What procedure do you do to get the DVD to play? Please advise as I have been able to disable the Nav System "safety feature" that stops Destiation changes and Blue tooth phone book access while moving. DerekD
