  1. Its probably 5mm less then 1cm i guess.

Dont even park next to the trolley thing. Its very risky. Have you seen kids that flung the trolley like a bowling ball? Fingers crossed he better hit the lane otherwise its going straight at your car.

And parking too far away in slient places. You run the risks of car break ins.

Parking next to a wall pole and next to expensive cars are the way to go. Never in the middle slot as you get hit both ways.

  2. Paintless dent removal (PDR) is very good. Results are superb, especially seeing as you wont' have to pay to have whole panel resprayed.

However, if there are scratches, you will have to get those tended to seperately.

Also, PDR can only do very small areas. I have a dent on one of my doors a little wider and longer than one of my fingers, and the PDR guy said he cant deal with that. So it sorta expensive in that regard...

How much does PDR cost for a tiny dent?

I seen a video on youtube on how they fix it, the result looks pretty good.

But wouldnt there still be weak spot on the metal after all those scratching??

  3. tried it. doesnt work. When i press it, it just quits flashing.

I'm not quite sure but i think you need to turn the knob when it is flashing. give it a go.

I tried pressing when both numbers were flashing, didn't work. Tried turning the knob when it is flashing also didn't work. My wife took it in for the 1,000 service and Toyota said the clock can't be changed out of 24hr format. Doesn't affect the performance of the car but it is bloody annoying a new car with all the nice bling that this model has and you can't change the clock format, unless there is some secret way someone in Toyota might know?

    Cheers

    Rob :)

just live with it i guess. I'm used to it. I also bring up the am/pm time on the cd player so it doesnt matter, i still get both.

  4. Called in to my local service centre. They say there still isnt any fix to this. I told them UK Toyota has a fix to this and they say Aust doesnt have any bulletin out about it. Ask if they could check up with aust toyota. They said call them yourself. Ask about the number. The guy says you should have it and hangs up.

    WTF??!!!

Anyone has the number to Aust Toyota??

    Here it is

i havnt been checking with the dealer since my last visit which they explain the same thing. Its the brake pads compound that is making the noise. They dont have a different branded pad. so it would still be the same changing the pads. Europe actually have a fix for this. This is a known fault. Tehy had different pads and some even have modified calipers.

    Are you in Sydney?

I was thinking if we could get all the people here on the board with the brake problems to group together and storm to a service centre and explain what toyota europe's fix, then they will probably do something. One technical told me nothing will be done unless theres a lot of complaints. So our only chance to fix this is the group up and hit the service centre.

  6. omg

    thats bad

i reckon people are so ignorant and screwed up sometimes. I have 2 experiences with my new rolla too. both in a carpark. Once i just parked and the guy got to his car which parked next to me and he just fully swings the door and doored me. i was like, what da ****. why do u have to swing it out so badly. there was plenty of room and you just wana to hit my car or what??

2nd time, parked in a carpark. was listening music in the car with a friend and this fat lady walks down after shopping. i duno why but she choose to walk down my driver side when she could pick any route to walk, and bang right into my side mirror. i then stared at her...she said ouch that hurts..oh duh.ofcourse it hurts..my car hurts too...over 250pound of force..almost snapped the mirror...***** me off real bad that one..

  7. Hi all,

For everyone who has a 07 corolla, just wanna ask what are your usually RPM when driving? mine seems to be around 2500 when i pedal it, and sometimes up to 3000 when going up hill. Its automatic and is this normal?

I've been in my friend's car (honda jazz), the gear change on that car is around less then 2000rpm. So just wondering what all you others have?

  8. hey all

as mentioned above in my post I have had... "HAD" the same problem as you guys and well I took my car in for service and told them that it was the belt slipping. Please when you take you car for service next please tell them to lubricate and check the belt. I play both the piano and guitar by ear, and if we are all talking about the same problem then I can guarantee that its the belt.

Its worth a shot and well it costs nothing aswell.

hey, what style of guitar you into?

btw, i think we differnet problem, this guy from the service center and i have narrow down the problem, we are both 200% sure is the brake pads. He checked up on the brake pads and said the ones they are using coming metal elements and he suspected that its the brake pad compund itself. We have also inspected the brake disc surface, we can see a very light scratch which we also suspected it from the squeal. However, because it only happens on cold start and goes away when it gets to normal temp. nothing can be done. He said he can deglaze the brake pads but it will come back in when the metal compound surface again.

Its the left hand side passenger side rear brake pads

This is a known fault on Auris/07 Corolla. Have a look at the auris forum on TOC. Uk toyota offers change of different brand of brake pads. But the guy told me they only stock one brake of brake pads which is no use.

  9. why not just get a set of hids?

might cost more, but at least you know it'll light up

yeh, for the normal lights it will be good, but its also bit too hassle to fit that in to a new car. paying the price of HID could get my self a proper levin ZR at the time of purchase.

I m just looking for something direct swap.

  10. they only make them in a T-10 wedge at the moment so they wont fit your fogies but will fit your parkers

    + $110 for some LED's is a bit ridiculous don't you think?

nope, they make H11 specially for fogs, 2 colours . white or blue.

the wedge ones are super led.

Getting them from overseas, but should work out about $80

I dont mind if they are really good and reliable. And something that actually works and lits the road, not just cool looking.

  11. I'm looking for a front skirt probably like the ones they have overseas.

way better then the black rounded plastic

yeh the front skirts add a more sporty look to the front side... they look really good

dont the original toyota weather shield cost around $70??

nah uhmm ... i think its 170 for one side... so for 2 it becomes 340[or its 170 for fronts ( 2 pieces )]... the weather shields being sold i think turn out to be 25$ before delivery and what not

whereas these are the sportier looking types and theres 4 pieces instead of the two.

but the auction comes with front 2 only?

i m pretty sure the camry ones are like $69 for one

    shippings quite expensive i reckon

how much would it work out??

  12. hey guys, just came across these two, they seem pretty cheap, and was wondering if anyone was interested.

    Weather Shields

    Fog Lights

I haven't really looked into them that much, just found them looking for parts for my 07' rolla, and thought i would post these up, if anyone wants to get them for themselves, or even for a Group Buy :P

Yes they are from Ebay UK, however being new (the car) to AU, haven't really found any places in AU, which sell either of these / any other ZRE-152R parts. So i basically posted these two, for someone trustworthy to start a Group Buy on these, or even for the people who want to be one of the first in AU to have these items on their car.

dont the original toyota weather shield cost around $70??

if so, its not much point trying to import something 13pound, works out similar after shipping plus the hassle

I'm looking for a front skirt probably like the ones they have overseas.

way better then the black rounded plastic
