  1. Nothing positive as yet im afraid. I have now officially lodged a formal complaint about Jarvis Toyota and Toyota Australia and i am also seeking legal advice in terms of sueing the dealer and the sales representative for deceptful conduct for false advertisement of the car purchased from them just 2 days prior to the end of the month. They even told me they needed the sale to meet the monthly target so no doubt it has all been lies. Dont you worry Mr Jarvis (Toy)ota, i put you on notice that i will never stop until i rightfully receive what is mine. I will continue to tell my story until the whole of Adelaide knows of your pathetic attitude and the lies you forward to your customers to make a sale. You think i might back away, wrong, this all gives me more ambition to keep on going and soon a little bit of advertising will soon be seen outside your Clovelly Park branch on public land seen to thousands of motorists who pass by on Adelaide's busiest road.
  2. Well i took the car in today and there isn't anything they can do withthe airconditioner. They checked it again and its fine so i can only put the issue down to poor quality and poor design of the airconditioner ducts, certainely not the "airconditioner is fantastic" as advertised by the dealer at Jarvis (Toy)ota. This is deceptive conduct and something i am persuing legally now also as the car was sold to me based on false pretences. Yes, i have lodged the official complaint with the OCBA and advised (Toy)ota that i have done this and they did not reply. For all those who think (Toy)ota is so great get off your highorse and learn from all this. Toyota are useless and are NOT customer service focused in the slightest. They sell you a dud car and then dont want to know you. LEARN FROM THIS and buy another brand and please, please stay away from Jarvis (Toy)ota. So now on a hot day of 32deg if more i need to drive half way around Adelaide so i can pick up my son just 5kms away or else he is forced to jump in a car at over 50deg. I will sue your ****s off Jarvis (Toy)ota and (Toy)ota Australia if anything happens to my son and my solicters will ensure we win, especially when very young children are involved.
  3. Maybe the faults are just with Blue Aurions One thing is certain, i am not going to have to drive 25kms just to cool the car down so i can pickup my son from daycare just 5kms away. It's just bull****. One theory is that the ducts for the airconditioner in the dash are not insulated and use cheap plastics so they heat up real quick and stay that way hence why it takes so long to receive cold air from them. It might also be the reason why they keep clicking for so long as they contract after being so hot. I have never had a car (and i have had lots) that has ever had this design problem. Time for class action i think! Poor quality Toyota? You bloody betcha!
  4. Update - I received yet another email again from Toyota again dodging my request. I have asked many times to change my car over but all they want to do is keep trying to fix it. So i called the Office of Consumer Affairs again this morning and told them i have had enough. I explained to the operator what has been happening and he could not beleive what he was hearing. Furthermore he was shocked to hear what Jarvis Toyota was offering in the way of a trade-in so i could replace the car with the exact make/model. He has sent out a "Request For Assistance" form and can't wait to read all the documented letters i have sent and received from Toyota/Jarvis Cars. I am certain that the OCBA will only be too happy to assist. I am also calling the Ombusdman at midday today to seek their advice to the matter also. I am going all the way out now, i have had enough. FWIW - The car is booked in for the 9th time and for the 12th day for rattles and airconditioner faults. What a bloody joke.
  5. Guys, I have been constantly emailing Toyota directly and each time they forward it to the drop kicks at Jarvis Toyota. Naturally i don't hear a thing when this happens. I have just emailed Toyota again (for the 6th time) advising them of this and that i want Toyota to resolve this, not Jarvis Ripoff Cars so i will see what comes about from this. I had a long chat to another dealer a few days ago who could not beleive what Jarvis Toyota have done and how they wanted to fix the issue (charging me a fortune to replace the car with the same make/model) and suggested herself that i should contact the CEO of Toyota Australia to step in. I have tried gaining his email address from Toyota but they are refusing to release this information so i would like to kindly ask if anyone here knows of a contact in Senior Management at Toyota who can help out. I am going to persistently push the fact across that Jarvis Toyota is as fradulent as they come and should not be selling Toyota Cars but rather something more like icecreams or lollipops. Then again if Jarvis owned a Wendy's franchise and they dropped your nice cool cone they would probably charge YOU to replace it.
  6. Hi There, As most know my airconditioning in my Aurion is crap and doesn't appear to work very well at all. I need to drive somewhere between 20 - 25kms before the air is actually cold and all other times it's just cool and does little to cool the car down. I also noticed driving at 60kms/h in top gear also affects the airconditioner and you can smell the air heating up (turn your aircon off and leave the fan running) which is just not right. So i would like ask what your airconditioning is like in your Aurion? Thanks in advance. Greg
  7. Guys, I have a blog going at www.toyotasux.com which i am currently updating. I had a return email from Toyota again today which just confirmed they received my email but nothing more, as usual. I really dont know how and why some of you swear black and blue about how great Toyota is as i beleive their Customer Service is absolutley ****house. I emailed Today Tonight this afternoon and received a confirmation about a follow up call on Monday so i will advise how we go there as well as the email to Toyota today to which i doubt they will bother to reply to. I was given several ideas today to the detriment of Jarvis Toyota and i will action these next week.
  8. Thanks for the tips guys. I have been emailing Toyota many times since day one and they keep wiping their hands clean and forwarding it straight to the assholes at Jarvis Toyota. All i get back from Toyota is "Thanks for your email, it's is being forwarded to Customer Relations" and thats it! I received a call this morning from the The Managing Director of Jarvis Cars who again was on no help. He reinterated that they wanted $8000.00 to replace my car to which i said NO, he then said he would meet me half way to $6500.00 and then went on to say it would be an SX6, not a ZR6 as per my request. So overall all to buy an Aurion SX6 costs $38,000.00 on road if you walked in off the street, they expect me to pay $46,500.00 for the same thing all becuase THEY sold me a dud car! What a bunch of ******en ****ers! Who do they think they are???? I am now writing a letter to Today Tonight and plan to do everything i can to expose Jarvis Toyota as a crooked and sly dealer that they most certainly are. Please, please, Adelaide buyers, avoid Jarvis at all costs what ever you do. Don't make the same mistake i made by buying a car off these morons.
  9. Update - Well i went down to Jarvis Toyota at Clovelly Park today at the request of the Sales Manager and they valuated my car. The figure came back to $30K, yet i paid $40K just three months ago. They also wanted me to part with another $8K to which i strongly refused to do and counter offered $5K to which they would not even listen to. They did not give a rats about all the issues i have been having or the inconvienience taking the car back so often has caused me (do they forget others work for a living?). This is also the 2nd new car i bought from the Jarvis group within 12months so it isnt a fact that they have lost money but rather the opposite. To me Jarvis Toyota want your money and doesn't give a toss if your happy or not. The Sales Manager only wanted to talk $$$ and showed zero compassion over the DUD car that THEY sold me. With that in mind when i returned to work i contacted Jarvis Head Office and requested the email address of the Dealer Principal for the Jarvis Group however he is overseas but his Personal Assistant provided her details and guaranteed it will be forwarded to him upon his return. I also CC'd the email to Toyota Australia and faxed it to the Office of Business & Consumer Affairs to keep them up to date. I have also contacted Wheels Magazine in order to write a small article about my experience and offered to even pay for it. I have also just registered the domain "toyotasux.com" and once i have a site running (shortly) i will list it to all search engines globally (i own a webhosting company!) If Jarvis think i am going to roll over and forget all this they have another thing coming becuase i have just begun this crusade. I WILL NOT let a money hungry dealership get away with selling me a LEMON and think they can get away with it - period. These wan*ers need to be more accountable for what they sell and learn to put customers first, not there bank balance. ADELAIDE BUYERS - DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM JARVIS TOYOTA
  10. Out of interest mine makes that loud clunk also and it only happens after you take off for the first time, in my case every morning.
  11. Update - It seems that now the Toyota Regional Manager is involved (about time too). I have received a call from Jarvis indicating that they want to keep fixing all these quality problems in my car to which i said no, i want it replaced. It seems that Toyota will not replace a faulty car that they produced so i suggested we talk turkey on changing the car over for a ZR6. A Sales Manager called me up from Jarvis and advised that 9K - 11K will be needed to which i refused as this amount is just ridiculous and certainly unfair on my part considering all the crap that this car has caused. So after another phone call i am going down there tommorow (Thursday) to see if i can strike a deal to upgrade it to a ZR6. Apparantly there is a promotion on Aurion's at the moment meaning you can pick up a SX6 for around 38K and a ZR6 for around 41K. I will let you know what happens and if they won't be fair about the situation and i walk out without something reasonable i will be emailing the Regional Manager myself and telling him what i think about Jarvis and their cars.
  12. My wife's family mostly all own Toyota and swear by them, that is till now. It is with their disbelief the amount of problems and hand balling i have had with Toyota so by the sounds my car is certainly an isolated issue. Thats said i went for a drive up to Mt Barker today to visit some family and in some back streets there are a few relatively bumpy roads and the car has more rattles then a baby's cot. Mostly from the dash, up where the sun glasses holder is, drivers door and something tinny in the back (brace maybe)? I had a TW Magna previously (which arent all that great in the quality department) and the Aurion has 2 - 3 times more rattles than even that. They just come from everywhere! We have been up that same road in our CH lancer and i barely heard any rattles in that. I still beleive as it's been ripped apart (doors and entire dash) that this is the cause of most of it. I can still move the dashboard and the arch above the clock etc which all creak and crack. Is there anyone in Adelaide with an Aurion that lives on a bumpy road? Regrettably Toyota Australia and Jarvis Toyota collectively seem disinterested in making further contact with me regarding the replacement of this heap of crap so unfortunatley it's likely i'll trade it in December / January on something else of high quality (and it wont be a (Toy)ota). I don't want to sell it privatley unless the buyer is deaf or immune to an orchestra of creaks and rattles and / or its a warm-hot day.
  13. Well i emailed Toyota again first thing this morning to both their Customer Relations Department and to another person there and surprise, surprise, not a single response, then again they can't make a quality car so how can they type and email or make a phone call or are they hoping i will simply disappear like many others? If it's the latter i have only just begun my quest (Toy)ota. Next step is to poster the windows on the car and leave it parked outside Jarvis Toyota. I am sure the guys at the Mitsubishi plant next door will have a good laugh and take it in their stride! I already have a collegue making a vinyl sign in large white lettering which will be placed on the rear window next week. There is nothing like advertising huh? I went to see legal today and they said there is no law in Australia to protect new car buyers and they hope that one day it will be like the USA whereas if you return your car 3 times for similar faults it must be replaced for a new one. If this law kicks in over here (likely not) it will sure put all the manufacturers on notice.
  14. Well i thought i would pop back and let all know what progress so far. After 4 days in the dealer the remote control problem was fixed, finally. But now the Air conditioner is not working properly and after a 25km drive in 27deg heat the inside of the car finally cooled down. If i drive the car at 60km/hr the air conditioner is not cold at all, the only time it it cool is at high RPM! So i need to drive around in 2nd or 3rd to cool the car down - WTF!! So here we go again, back to the dealer for the 7th time and so far 11 days and counting. There is also creeking and cracking around the radio area and where the clock is now no doubt contributed to pulling the entire dash out previously as once you pull things apart they are never the same. After responses from Toyota they simply wiped their hands clean of the problem and reffered it back to the dealer who would rather sell icecreams then change a car over. And yes, the dealer is Jarvis Toyota at Tonsley Park, SA so for all you Adelaide people, avoid them as they dont do pre-deliveries properly (you paid for it remember) and they take your money and don't give a s-h-i-t. I still reinterate that this car is a heap of s-h-i-t lemon no matter what the views of others are like and as mentioned i wont be buying another (Toy)ota again. I have just had it with this car.
  15. Out of curiosity does anyone else hear a lot of clicking in the dashboard area when you turn on your airconditoning after the car has been in the sun? It's kinda of like a tic, tic, tic as the airconditioning piping contracts etc.. I have never heard this before in any other car and i have owned and driven many but the Aurion does this for about 20 mins or so every time.
  16. Or park the car out the front of the dealer with huge signs on it "This car is a lemon". As it turns out the road that the dealer is on is Adelaide's largest and busiest by far and is extremely close to a competitors manufacturing plant!
  17. Update - Finally Toyota has responded to my email and is following this up with the dealer. I'm not sure what will come of it but knowing how car manufacturers and dealers work they will do anything to ensure the car is not replaced and just keep on fixing things not matter the inconvieniece to the customer. Stay tuned for further updates.
  18. Thanks for your comments. The car is back at the dealer now and will be there for around 2-3 days i'm told. The car had 17kms on the clock when i bought it so maybe it's just a Friday car or something. Never owning a Toyota before and reading all the press about the high quality and reliability of Toyotas is what sent me off to buy an Aurion, its just unfortunate that i ended up with a lemon and the more the dealer pull the car apart to fix something the more rattles are going to eventuate so in my view it's a downward spiral from here on. I also found another quite large paint defect on the bonnet this morning but i doubt i will mention it to the dealer as the bonnet will likely need respraying and it will likely never match 100%. I am just very dissapointed that Toyota hasn't responded at all. I havent bothered to email the Dealer Principal to where i bought the car from because they would never swap a car over, they rather have the money in the bank then have an irrate and dissapointed customer driving around a lemon that they sold. I did tell the salesperson this morning that i wont be back and i wont be buying another Toyota despite the fact that he knows how many times i have been back with the car but they never offer the prospect of talking to Toyota about replacing it. I will resend my email to Toyota again and find contacts in both the RAA (Royal Automobile Association) and the Department of Consumer Affairs to see what they have to say about the matter. I personally beleive the car should be replaced with another brand new one. One unhappy customer that talks usually leads to several boycotting the brand, and in this case the dealer too and Adelaide is a very small place. The only way to get results is to make it public and at the end of day much more could of been done to prevent this issue.
  19. I thought i would vent my frustration about all the problems i have had with my Aurion since i bought it new just 2 months ago.. 1) Firstly the car was filthy and had more scratches then a cats scratching post. The dealer was apologetic and surprised that the car was left in this state and dutifully logged about 13 areas requiring rectification. The interior even had stains in it. 2) As soon as i drove the car out of the dealers lot i heard dash creaks, cracks and other noises and thought great, here we go. 3) I took it to the dealer and was told No Fault Found, here we go again i thought. I had all the paint rectification completed and it still wasn't satisfactory. 4) I took it back to the dealer and they fixed the issues with the paint i still was concerned with. Finally it was resolved but again, no creaks in the dash noted. 5) I called past the dealer and took the foreman for a ride and he heard the creaking and cracking from the dash and soon picked up something is wrong. We booked it in yet again. 6) Left it with the dealer and after 3 days the dash had been pulled out, modifications made and was told a clip wasn't even in place under the dash. 7) One of the remotes stop working. Back to the dealer again. Remotes reprogrammed and all good. 8) A few days later the remote fails again so back to the dealer. This time a problem is recognised with the onboard computer and it wont let any new remotes be programmed into the system. They tried contacting Toyota for two days to no avail, they were unresponsive. I then find out that they need my car for a further 2 days to investigate and perhaps change the BEM (body electronics module). So Monday in it goes yet again. Within two months the car has been at the dealer 7 times and after this repair has spent a total of nine days at the dealer, all within 2 months! The Sales Rep who sold me the car swore black and blue these cars were of high quality and cant beleive how many times it has been back and i am sure it's not the end of it either. Whats worse is this car has rattles and squeaks coming from everywhere, i just can't track them all down. I think the steel brace in the rear is causing rattles too and the front end sounds weird going over bumps in the road. Conclusion, i will NEVER buy another heap of **** Toyota again and fully intend on passing my experience to as many people as possible. Whilst some of you have been lucky i havent and Toyota really dont give a stuff. I have emailed them to advise them what i have experienced and that in hindsight that the car should really be replaced but they never responded. The dealer said that have never seen so much trouble with an Aurion so i am at wits end why i have a car park down there with my name written on it, i'm sure they are sick of me taking it down there. I paid $40K for this car and i rightfully deserve a car that is free from defects and operates to manaufacturers specification, not a car that needs to be returned to the dealer almost weekly for repairs! To the dealers credit they are trying hard with all the repairs but not cleaning a brand new car at pre-delivery is a big mistake to start with and something told me it was just the beginning. This is my first Toyota and now will be my last. /end rant.
  20. My "checkover" was done at 1000kms but then again the dealer is used to seeing it. It's been back 5 times and going back again for the 6th time tommorow, all under 1500kms. I did think Toyota was a high quality car but my mind is now changed on that assumption. I really dont think these cars are going to age well (just like Fords). To the dealers credit, even though they had it for 4 days at one stage, yes, 4 days they seemed to have fixed all the creaking and rattling in the dash which was immediatley noticable when i drove it out of the dealers lot, brand new. I doubt i will buy another Toyota though. Enuf is enuf.
  21. Chrome on black always looks good. Have you been down to Wheel Worx on South Road Richmond? They have a massive range of wheels on display but if you buy from them take the wheels somewhere else to be put on your car..... Enuf said...
  22. If you get a black one put a nice layer of Merguiars Wax on it so it will only need a squirt to get the dust and **** off it.
  23. I went for a long drive and had the Tom Tom XL running. I found the speedo to be about 6kms/hr faster then the Tom Tom but only from 100km/h on. Before 100km/hr the speedo was on par with the Tom Tom. They say the GPS readings are as accurate as you can get as the GPS Satellites are synched with the atomic clock.... Hmm..
