  1. I assume you've not installed a brake controller yet. There is a few on the market, with the most popular from what I've researched being the Redarc Tow Pro Elite as it's good, plus it can be installed in small places and you don't end up with a box that you're likely to hit everytime you jump in and out of the car. You can pick one up from $260 - $360, then you'll need to have it installed unless you can tackle yourself, I believe you can buy a wiring harness to make that easier. An auto electrician will charge $300 - $500 to install from my recent experience.
  2. From my experience, having the load you are towing weigh less than the vehicle which is doing the towing is a very good start. The camper would have it's own brakes to be legal I am guessing, are they manual or electric? On a camping trip to Europe 6 years ago I was amazed at the amount of what we consider in Australia to be small cars towing these Euro light weigh full on caravans. It was not unusual to see VW Golfs with small vans on the back. So I recon you can trust in the number Toyota is quoting, and as always when towing, drive with much more caution, as physics works against you when you double your mass with a trailer on the back.
  3. Hi All, We have recently purchased a 2009 GXL 200 series and are wanting to add some sheepskin covers to the front seats. I have done some searching online and found covers that maybe look okay, but they are not customised for the seats which makes me a little concerned as we're not wanting them to look dodgy. Can anyone share any brands that they have used where they are obviously happy with the fitting and comfort. Or if anyone who can recommend a company that does actually make covers specifically for the LC 200 seats. Cheers, Ben
  4. It could be worth having a look if the earth wire is well connected, my son recently had an issue with a light bar on his 105, it started to flicker a little. After making sure the light was earthed better the flickering has stopped. So I recon yours thoughts are correct about the earth wire.
  5. Did you end up doing the modifications as listed above? I am considering a similar project at the moment and have come across the dts, so interested to understand if anyone in the community has done it. Also interested if someone can recommend a good shop, i would potentially carry out some aspects, but other parts I'd have to pay the experts. So any recommendations in the Sydney area, preferably more North West would be better, but willing to travel for someone good obviously. Cheers.
