  1. Are there any new kluger owners out there........if so what do you think so far.

    Were still waiting for ours.....

100 views and still no reply they must have all purchased Territories or something.

3/4 of the way through the first tank......still early days yet, very nice car. I would not like to drive it every day as its too big and slow compared to the Subaru Turbo XT.

The wife and kids are happy thats the main thing......The center seat still concerns me on week one with 3 boys as luggage will be always in the boot section (wifes tool box). We came from a Berlina wagon huge tool box area and better middle seat.

Any one else got a new one yet?

Auto entry/start takes a bit of getting use to still go to turn the key off on the right side...makes the process very quick when starting in the morning.

  2. Is that the pearl white ? - it almost looks a bit silvery.

It will be interesting to see what you think.

It is pearl white and it does look silvery under the Melbourne spring sun.. :yahoo: 2 colours for the price of one :yahoo:

I keep going to the dealer which is just across the road.....

What disc are you going to put in the audio. I think it will take anything so I am putting some TDKs... I used crappy CD-R for my RX-8's MP3 player and it never has trouble (tell you Mazda is using Pioneer with Bose speakers -- cheap  )

Two colours for the price of one I would have sworn that was Silver from the top Bonet shot. Our is defiantly a BLUE ONE....

    I bet you cant wait?

  3. I saw my car in the lot today. Picking the beast up Monday.

The handle is nice. I like it (not fully silver but silver white and ... silver)

    Nice not far away now...

Does anyone know how the hill holder is meant to work?

And does your bluetooth drop in and out on the main big screen

  4. Looking Good there. :yahoo:

I knew I should have convinced the Mrs to go for the bull bar though. looks Good.

Thanks for the nice words its defanitley a looker every one loves the colour that has seen it in the flesh

The nudge bar was on it we did not option it with it, I tried to trade it for the tow bar, its growing on us now.

I got the new CX9 DVD today looks like it has a better 2nd and 3rd row seat lay out bigger donk 3.7L and 204 Killer wasps just to out do the Toyota.

    Time will tell

  5. Hi All,

I would like to upgrade the headlights in the landcruiser 100 to HID's

My preference would be to get them fitted professionally, can anyone

recommend anyone who is fitting them, and/or anything to watch out for.

    Thanks, Andrew

Mate, aftermarket HIDs are illegal in Australia doesn't matter which state you are in. The design law states that any car fitted with HID lights must have a headlight washer, headlight leveler as well as projector lenses (For a sharp cutoff at the top of the beam). The cops aren't so hard at the moment, but i can see it changing in the future when people starts to complain about all the glares that causes blinding to oncoming traffics...

All true except for the projector Lense bit (recommended but not compulsory my XT Forester is proof of that with angled reflectors & HID'S STD ) Have been using after market HIDs for over 3 years now never going back to Halogans unless forced on the Toyota which should have come with them.

  6. maybe have a look at this link, not sure if it helps.

TA Me thinks the US Sports version is the KXS model may be I keep looking the dealer said it needs an upgrade MP3 cable?

The 2008 Highlander Sport does have one AUX port located inside small compartment underneath center front console and behind the gear stick. This small, narrow compartment also has 12V plug and small shelf large enough for IPOD. We use AUX to plug in satellite radio and our IPOD, although satellite is used more often.

Had a look could not find it

Because you have the Grande the head unit is the SatNav and there is no AUX input. The KX-S Aux input is on the unit front (bottom right corner).

    Ripped OFF!

  8. Congratulations PC XT, great to hear you picked it up on schedule. I guess you'll need to spend a bit of time to get used to it and get the feel of it.

Do you have a picture of it?, any plans for any additions?.

I already have plans for our one addition and I think it will really set the look off and give the front a bit of a boost as well as enhancing driving on the long dark freeways and country roads. Two or three 8" Hella Rallye 2000 pencil beam spotties behind the front grill, it should fill up the back of the grill and hopefully not restrict too much air flow.

Already got some small HID driving lights to go on and take my HID out of my Berlina for the head light up grade.

  9. On a side note does any one know where the MP3 input is on the new Grande head unit, I want to connect the rear DVD to the car speakers

Simple answer PC XT: There is none.

Awsome its limited like the Forester now I have two dud Stereo cars and the new Klugers got last years GPS mapping on it any more good news about the car I should know about before we head to day 3 with it :ph34r:

  10. I was out racing the night this ran the 11.5 it hauled a$$ like nothing else Ive seen in the luxury wagon world (seven seats)..........I was going to buy/ test drive an TTG After I saw the mighty potential, then I thought this is going to be my family car. The car is modified very well but it only had 3000Kms on it lets see how it feels with 100,000Kms on it after that type of abuse and boost.

Still that said what an achievement! At Least Ford can say that one eats sports cars for Breakfast! The TTG has still got two thing over the new Kluger Grande AWD a better normal 2nd row seat and more power...posibly better handerling.......but thats were the comparison stops because the Kluger wins everything else hands down.

  11. On ya guys,

I dont think the Kluger should be effected by the same engine issue as the rav ( hope not any way ) as it sounded like it was an engine management issue, the computer?

yeah ECU (engine control module/unit) controls fuel delivery with air fuel mixture in different speed, gear and throttle amount, and it is standard on all fuel injected engines. Because it is a variable valve system in most Toyota engines, ECU now is more sophisticated than 10 years ago. Also, nowadays ECU controls traction control module, cruise control, hill descent, EBD with information coming from ABS system, and even the audio and air con will be integrated in the ECU. Don't forget the immobilizer as well.

That is why the fuel mileage show up on the screen, it is because the fuel is calculated in the ECU and info is transferred to the screen.

If I start to talk about fuel map I will bore you, so just leave it as that :P

I discovered that bit today very weird

Does any one have trouble with the blue tooth connection and icons that fade so you cant access them (should read the book I guess) I dont think my hill holder works either not like my XT does any way. The handling/ suspension is very soft and a bit to springy for my liking but then again I wont drive it from one week to the next.

It got a lot of thumbs up from every one today even with the colour which is even more out there than the interior

  12. It will be interesting when CX-9 rolls off the floor Very true, but looking at the dash I have to give Kluger a thumbs up the 8" display won us. I simply did not enjoy the test drive of the KX-S AWD, We had the same experience the car we test drove had not been through its pre delivery checks so it was very dull, lights were flashing on the dash as we drove it not very relaxing and the sales man was not the best after just sat on the Sand colour beige interior Grande (even it is not my choice of colour on both front). Mine either Go the Blue and Black

My wife loves it now, since she worked out mentally how to fit someone in the center when both left and right middle seat has a baby capsule attached.

It is now to work out how to enjoy the car.... suggestion? Drive it and smile :yahoo::rolleyes:

  13. Cograts on picking her? up Thursday. I cant wait.......it will be 2 months by the time we get ours.

Let us know what you think.

Ours was a fleet price, thats probably why it was such a good deal, but we still had to do a lot of wealin and dealin from the different dealers to get the best possible price because the fleet people wanted the three best quotes. Eventually Terry Shields did the job.

If you work for a large organisation or have an ABN you may be able get some sort of fleet discount.

Wow.. I wish I had the same deal. I should have gone for the fleet company....

Anyway, I am waiting for mine to come in Dec. Company are paying for it in a way, but I had to work hard for it. (So boss, get my drift????) haha.

I think I am going for a White one, although currently the lockin one is Graphite. It is coming down to this 2 choices anyway. I also went for the Grande - suck in by those gadgets. Do you think Grande worth it?

Do you know that Kluger looks like Vanguard in Japan (EDIT: I double check there is nothing in common :(), and you may be able to buy Japan parts for it.... :yahoo:

    Congrats on the good taste.

Only one more sleep to go before we pick up the wifes blue beast in the morning, thanks for all the info guys, Im pretty happy with our deal ( My company and fleet is my family) Only got one price as you can work out whats a good deal by the web these days. Ours was a company DEMO driven by the dealer principle (and many more I assume) with 3000KMs on the clock, they are now hard to get I was looking at the Turbo Territory Ghia, but happy I chose the gadget bus instead the fords a good car but getting long in the tooth now the only thing that really excited me was the Turbo factor the standard Ghia is a slug.

Hope the engines last longer than the new Ravs Do too. I think the Grande at the right price is light years ahead of the opposition with a lot of standard feature included where the opposition are mostly extras or not available at all, time will tell as they are only relatively new, still Not sure about the Gadget middle seat!....Now to save up for that rip off tow bar.... its only a bit of metal :spiteful:

    Adrian

  14. did u guys get yours yet???

which model did u guys order?

and what price did u manage to get it down too??

    thanks!!

Still waiting for ours, hopefully only another couple of weeks away.

We ordered AWD Grande, Metallic Paint, Aero roof racks, HD tow pack, front and rear park assist, mudflaps, front tints, floor mats for around 62K drive away. When we compared to the other manufacturers the decision was easy. For what you get nothing came close.

Thats a great deal Was that a fleet/business price it seems very cheap? Which dealer? We just did a similar deal on the same car not as many extras though  Pick up Thursday :yahoo:
