  1. i appreciate the disclaimer at the top saying that this is only directed at the bad sheep.

the sad thing is, the bad sheep P platers will never learn. They are always going to think their freedom means they drive however they want, and the only way they learn is by losing their licenses or their lives. it sucks, but its just in the nature of a teenage male with control over a car.

all this crap the government brings in like not allowing P platers to drive turbos and things like that. i think its a waste of time, and the pansy cheap way out. i can get my 1973 Corolla with 36kw(ish) at the rear wheels to get to a speed in which i could die.

what i think the problem is: to get your Ps, you need to be able to manouver a vehicle through the roads. thats only half of driving. when something different happens (traffic changes quickly, car pulls out when it shouldnt, or even a quick aqua plane), how are you meant to know how to respond when you've never driven on your own before?

i think the government should stop stuffing around with how great they are for bringing in restrictions on the cars kids can drive, and start spending the important money in teaching kids how to react to hazards...

ive done an advanced driving course, and i still stand by my belief its gotten me out of plenty of accidents because i was taught exactly how to control my car in different scenarios and at different speeds.

anyway that was messy and im not thinking clearly... but thats what i think on your P plater issue.

  2. hey V6_Kamree...

i think i did have a domain at one stage, waaay before i did any mods, but i just never got round to updating it...

we have a member's ride section now, so all you have to do to find our cars is look in there... each first post should have some pics of the owner's car...

alternatively, if you click up the top where it says registry, you can search through the pages we've created on the forum for our ride.

its all very simple. i think we would use cardomain more, but we have 2 different and effective domain style things on here...

just another thing: i'd like to apologise for the people who wrote the comments above. i realise you're new to the forum, so i hope this can be forgotten and you enjoy your stay here. you'll learn there is alot of senseless whining because we have some keyboard heroes, but all in all its a very fun group of people. are you in sydney? if you are you should come out to one of our meets. :D

  3. thats not so bad man - at least you got out there and had a go. all you'll do is improve.. i dont think the weather was on your side last night either..

maybe soon we can organise another wednesday night for all the sydney folks to head out together... i dunno maybe its getting too hot for it to be worth it...

  4. well they are both 20V engines...

the silvertop was the original one, and easily the most common, and as a result, the cheapest...

the blacktop is the newer one, only released in a few cars, and more expensive... the only real difference is the blacktop has VVT technology...

you'll easily be able to pick up a 20V SX seca for under 2 grand, but it would be in questionable condition... it depends how much you wanna spend i guess...

if you wanna get JUST the engine, check out the jap motor import places for a rough idea of prices...

and as far as modifying a 16V over a 20V, the 16V IS easier because theyre more common, and they came out as the 4AGZE, so all the performance parts are there...

the 20V was a fairly shortlived engine... its an awesome idea, but for my project, ive decided to opt for a 16V just cos parts are cheaper and more available...

  5. yeah yeah.. just so nobody is confused..

we will all meet at villawood at 8pm... when we've had enough chatting and inspecting cars (if you're new, make sure your car is up to scratch!), we'll head to aqua golf from there...

ok if you're new, im just kidding... if you have a toyota, your car is as cool as the next person's... we dont judge a stocker, we've all been to meets in a stock ride... (well most of us :P)...

  6. hey man,

i watched your O.P run video and your toyfest one too.. i loved the toyfest video- top stuff for your 2nd attempt...

the footage is good too of the O.P run. i know how hard it it so get steady footage in a moving vehicle, and you've done a great job... my only criticism for that video is the music is too loud and dylans sexual engine is too soft...

i've made a couple of videos of our TOCAU meets, im sure if you hunt back to the kiama meet you can find a link to the one i made... i do all my stuff on windows movie maker...

anyway... keep up making the good work - you'll develop new ways of doing things and the quality will only keep improving..
