It was only a Hyundai Excell. It hit low near the petrol filler but pushed the back of the car up an embankment wich caused the rollover. The airbags didn't go off as it wasn't a full side impact. The pretensioners worked fine though. I wasn't driving, it was my wife, and my son was in the car. They are both fine.

Goodness me! Is that your car in the pics? What happened? Someone went through a stop sign and hit the side at the rear. It rolled a couple of times.

Did you check the file I attached? I don't think my sunroof will ever close again.

Exactly. I have always, slightly, increased my tyre size when replacing the factory originals. One thing to check on the Kluger is the clearance between the rear tyres and the strut. There doesn't seem to be much room there. 255 should fit fine. I have 275/45-20 (8'5 x 20 rim) on mine............has 8 mm gap between tyre and strut. My new wheels are going to be 265/35-22 (9x22) gap will be same. Do they fit into the spare tyre holder? Do you have any photos? I havent seen a Kluger with different rims yet.

The same tyre with a larger width should have more grip. It can also be more prone to aquplaning, but with 2 tonnes pushing down on them, I don't think the Kluger will have that problem.

My street, which has less than 100 houses, now has 3 Kluger Grandes, that I know of. I am on a T junction and there are 2 Kluger KX-S within 100m down that road. They are definitely increasing in numbers, not becoming common. I am also still thinking of buying a second one. That should be the first KX-R in my street.

I think if you need to have baby capsules in the third row, you probably have the wrong car. Access isn't too bad, but trying to manouver past the second row with a baby sounds like a bad idea.

The animation of system check is very likely a gimmick. The animation is most likely shown while the screen hardare boots up and establishes communications with the main system.

I attempted to test the traction control a couple of days ago when it was raining. I used full throttle around a corner, the back drifted a little and then appeared to correct itself. I didn't see any warning light or here any chime and I didn't do a Bulmer. Has anyone with an AWD seen or heard the warnings?

Thanks. Thats good, but not perfect. My wife and I are generally in the house by the time our kids get out of the car and there is not much chance of them putting one in the front of the car when they are busy arguing about which side to get out from.

My idea of the order of things would be: Get in the seat, put on seat belt, make adjustments, start the car, select gear, release the brake and start moving. From the starting of the car till the start rolling you shouldn't have to wait for the screen to start displaying what your doing. So changing the order of things would solve the problem? All microprocessor based systems take time to boot. The time taken depends on the way the software is read and what the system must check before being enabled. If the program is kept in non-volatile memory and must be transfered to faster RAM at start-up, you have to wait. If the program is run directly from non-volatile memory, it will generally run slower. If the system used for the camera is also a main component of the vehicles control, which may be the case with the small display screen, there would be a number of system checks performed before the system is released for other functions such as the reversing camera. This could be the reason that the Grande can display the image faster than the other models; I don't think that the audio/navigation system would need to perform any critical system checks before enabling operation. Before we complain too much it would be interesting to find out how long other cars take to display the reverse camera image.

In other topics, people have complained about some dash rattles; I don't have that problem. The problem I have is the headphones rattling in the door pockets when not being used. Has anyone found a good storage solution for the 3 sets of headphones that come with the Grande DVD. The remote is no problem as it can fit in the seat pocket.

I can't see how anyone with a Grande has a problem. After pushing the start button you need to put your seatbelt on and release the park brake. Unless you don't use the park brake and are one of the many people I see putting their seat belt on as they drive down the road, it should be on by the time you select reverse.

Hi just joined the the club too .Just ordered a black Grande with nudge bar , side rail ,beige leather.About a 3 month wait.Has any one got any pics of there black kluger?How does black go with our hot summer? The aircon works really well. I didn't get black because you can see every bit of dirt on it. I had a black Grande for a test drive for 3 days. It didn't rain and I only drove of sealed roads, but it looked filthy when I took it back. The graphite looks cleaner for longer, even though it's not. Once we order in about a month, we were debating over tidal blue, pearl white, graphite, but even though its alot more maintenance(washing), we have decided the black will look the best(If kept clean). Im going to use the waterless wash and garage it nightly, so hopefully i can get the kids involved in doing some of it too! I agree ,black does look the best when kept clean ! I've also ordered the sand beige leather interior with black mats,dont know how hard beige is to keep clean compared to black leather.Any one out there with the beige leather ! I heard its a bit cooler in summer than having black interior. Black does look the best when kept clean; if it was my car and not the wife's, I would probably have gone for black. My wife and kids are good at drtying cars, not cleaning them. I liked the beige interior but got the black because of the carpets, not the seats. Light coloured carpets are pretty much ruined if they get a grease stain.

Mine is the same. I was thinking of saying something when I take it in for service, even though it's hardly noticable.

My Grande got quite confused one time in a tunnel. The traffic had stopped due to a car broken down. After changing lanes twice at low speed the GPS lost its bearings and thought that I was creating my own tunnel under the city. It knew not to use the streets above. It coorected itself quickly after leaving the tunnel.

It is a drive by wire throttle. After everything I've read about the Kluger traction/stability control and what I've seen with the cruise control, I'm starting to think that Toyota's solution to criticism that their previous sowftware was too obtrusive was to just introduce a delay to when it operates.

Shouldn't be too hard on a Grande as I assume there will be a fre RGB connection where the reverse camera normally goes. If you have the front sensors, it could even be activated by the same switch and speed sensor. It could be a bit disorientating as the display will be mirrored. It would probably be obstructed by dead bugs as well.

How do the front sensors work? Do they just turn on at slow speeds? Do you remember how much they cost you? Cheers. Check the topic "Parking sensors" on the next page of topics. Everthing you need is probably there.

Anyone noticed that the Highlander in the US has an option to have a button near the sunroof buttons that is a universal programmable remote for garage doors? I want that.

As I had said in another topic, I would fit Yokohama ADVAN ST V802 in size 255/55R19. They are only slightly larger, should fit and would be a much better tyre than the originals. There is no other tyre in the size 245/55R19 other than the originals. Original tyres on new cars, other than performance models, are generally not very good and overpriced to replace as people buy them just because they are the same. On every car I have had, I've noticed a big improvement in grip and sometimes road noise after replacing the original tyres with something else. Better tyres don't generally last as long, but I think that safety is much more important than saving a little money.
