lol funny story at work todayabout airbags. a customer managed to sett off 3 airbags within 15m of the driveway out of my work brand new mk6 golf 6 TDI hit a merc ml ran up a gutter hit a pole and drove into a brick wall. the car is a writeoff from it damage to almost every panel except rear left door. 3 airbags went off in the process so yeah exciting. the driver went to hospital with leg injuries of some kind not to sure ho bad though but my plan was to buy a wrecked sportivo, swap the gearbox when i take out the engine for the build, interior over into my levin after everything else is done but... i contacted the rta and im not allowed to remove airbags of anykind that were factory fitted unless engineered by an approved rta place so big paain. i argued to him that only 1 version had side airbags and the rest didnt so it does not affect safety in any way to making it below what toyota designed it to have but he repeated himself saying enginnered this laws and beaurcratic mumbo jumbo so im looking into a retrim with less side flex for better cornering :P

and the celica gearbox be exactly the same as the corolla box. would have to check toyota catalogue for that one im guessing. and the drive shafts are from 2zz aswell??? it would be better to run both shafts from the 6spd

um then why do i have airbag warning stickers on the inside of the front doors and stickers on the seats saying srs side airbags not to mention i saw the airbag wire harness that connects to the floor cmon guys levins have double the airbags u should know that by now. this is my second levin now... after i found out how to deploy the airbags in the first one by hitting a wall on the front left corner

and obvoiusly you will use a 1zz-fe flywheel and u said for 1zz clutch

just curious to know exactly where they are??

ydoit4 aka dave and i bought these mount inserts and we we just wondering if anyone else has done the same, and installed these. how easy was it etc we started on it last sunday and found they had also packed the 3/4 inserts being ok but the 4th being the same as 2 others.

dead set??? so just bolt in and bolt out and reconnect everything and obviously the tranny mounts are in the same spot if its the case i will do that soon too cause it will be cheaper than getting a recondt 1zz box. awsome :P :P :P

my mate grabbed the engine harness from work today so we are all sweet to go ahead on sunday meet at 9am hes gonna meet me at work and im directing him to ur place

lol easy install no doubt dvd player, ipod integrated double din with bluetooth kit. now thats class :P

ok little update i sent off the pistons for testing and refurbishment yesterday, should get them back in a week or so. taken the turbo to performance shop will be checking the turbo, wastegate and all welds on the manifold. taking the head for a quality control test, to see if it indeed up to par. next up will be ordering some stuff aroundd the middle of september to bulk send the parts and save on postage. getting polyutathane engine and gearbox mounts in prep for this build. thats happening on sunday.

evan im aiming around the 15psi mark around 200kw atw, im getting alot of new internal items, what was angelo running on his out of curiosity???

i have 215/40/r17 and i get scrubbing round hard corners with coilovers on, im soon gonna put 225/45/r17 semi slick on so will see what thats like soon

ok so the main things i will need are the full exhaust setup, intercooler and piping, intake for the turbo, bov, boost controller, new ecu and new tyres:P new injectors and new fuel pump, new conn rods and any other minor things that i cant think of

lol yeah it was alot of custom work involved with that im im chucking away the 5th injector, cooler only gonna use the dump pipe as a guide gettin new intank fuel pump, new fuel rail gonna go crower upgraded rods btw those pistons are wiseco custom pistons from us. he obviously never heard of mwr for stuff like that. was gonna also ask about the vipec setup which i know ill need

im gettin my mate who has built a 400kw atw mk5 r32 golf to help me throughout so ill have a very experienced set of eyes watchin and looking after the build

fine looks like ill be the one who is gonna get it all u stay away its mine, its about 80/20 of me gettin this kit so its lookin good. i wont be guying that intercooler ill prob go for a xr6 item so wish me luck guys !!!!! and i should only be payign around 1500
