  1. Hi I also have Vaistech SoundLinq2 installed in CD-MP3 Changer emulation (which is apparently the only emulation possible for Kluger and I am happy with it except for the "Folder List" button which is also disabled. However page 11 of the Owner's Manual (at the bottom of the page) says quote Please note all Toyota vehicles except for Prius, do not have a list of files or folders display available on the screen due to Radio limitations Unquote. Regards to all
  2. The Altitude specification broshure under Sound System lists, quote "AM/FM radio with single in–dash CD player withMP3 compatibility, Audio Input compatible with iPod®^ or other portable MP3 players" unquote. Would it be too difficult to have this feature installed by the dealer in Kluger 2008 (Non Altitude model)?

    I got one!

Hey! Easy Taka! :) May I say welcome to the Sage Green club - its a very distinguished and elite club. You did well to get both the 7 seats and AWD for that price I think. And yeah, if you're planning to keep it for a while, the resale wont be an issue. Ours is a 2007 build too. Welcome and congratulations. Sage Green is very special colour and as Scott_C pointed out, you are now memeber of a very special Sage Green Club. Our car is also 2007 build, we plan to keep it for a while hence resale value should not ne an issue particularly if you look after the car. Once again, congratulations Green is a colour you either love or hate ;) and it really would have been the colour I picked if I had a choice. I love the fact that its not the most selected colour. Have driven a white commodore wagon for 8 years and it seems so does a large majority of the population. There are 3 cars the same in my street alone! looking forward to getting something a little "different". Thanks for the welcome :P
  4. Any feedback from Toyota?
  5. Scott, I thought so, nice choice (my Kluger is the same colour, there are not many around in Saige Once again congratulations on your purcghase and enjoy
  6. Congratulations Scot_C, this is a very beautiful vehicle. The colout look svery nice, what is it?
  7. Thank you Scot_C but how do I get around this: "Note: At this time we can only accept accounts from subscribers with US mailing and billing addresses"? This may help.....http://www.priceusa.com.au/ Thank you Scot_C
  8. That's where they were - both front and back... B) Thank you all for your input which helped a lot. I have referred Toyota to this forum and this is what I received yesterday quote ....there should be in fact manual available...unquote. Now I am to contact the dealership. Will let you know when I have the manual 'on board'
  9. Scott_C thank you for your information. I think I will be tempted to do likewise (my brother lives in Seattle)
  10. Attached are a couple of relevent pages from the manual. Hi Mikeboy, Toyota insists there is no such manual available to public (I take it they mean owners). Would you be good enough to post the title page only ("Front Corner Parking Assistance System Owner's Manual") which I could onpass to Toyota emphasising the words "owners manual" and not a service manual. It would help my cause a bit (I simply want a full set of manuals for my new car). I fail to understand why is Toyota so uncooperative if there is such a manual and reading the posts here, it seems obvious it is available Regards
  11. WTF??? I don't understand their logic... please explain
  12. Alex, it was only a matter of time before I registered here I guess. It's an annoying error margin, hope enough provide feedback to toyota during services. To enable an acceptable 3 to 4 k margin fix down the track. Garry Similar problem here and same response from the dealer. I have two GPS's one of which I use for professional navigation against which I tested the speedo. Dealer dismissed GPS as not being accurate because .... there is too long delay between the GPS and satelite .... honest
  13. Thank you Scot_C but how do I get around this: "Note: At this time we can only accept accounts from subscribers with US mailing and billing addresses"?
  14. Is there a Toyota or after market sevice manual avaialable for Kluger 2008? It is not that I want to do any work on the car, its just a quirk of mine always wanting to know a little more about the car than what the standard owners manual provides, for example I would like to know where is the oil filter located and a few other bits and pieces
  15. This is part of email I received from Toyota Australia when queried about the parking sensor manual which was not supplied to me. In my email to Toyota I attached two pages of the manual kindly posted earlier by a member of this group Quote I believe the pages you have received come from some sort of installation manual which is only used by Toyota dealers as they install the parking sensors. As previously stated, we are happy to help with any specific questions relating to the system installed, but there is not an Owner's Manual as such available to the public. Reading the documents you sent, they do give a fairly detailed run-down of the operation of the sensors. Please also bear in mind the sensors are there to assist in parking, and do not take the place of commonsense and the usual caution that should be exercised whilst operating a vehicle. Unquote It is not crucial for me to have the manual but it would have been nice to have a complete set of manuals for the car
  16. Thank you all for your comments and thoughts, it helped a lot. I agree the bull bar is somewhat heavy and chunky looking and in the end, I have decided in favour of the Toyota nudge bar. Hopefully will not regret my decision. You made the correct decision Leeder, you want your new Kluger to stand out for the right reasons, I do some country driving as well and have hit roos in the two last cars they like jumping into the side of my rides, may be they dont want to walk or hope any more. I did not like the nudge bar at first (it came on the car as a demo) but now the others look strange with the standard broad face bumper look with out. Thank you PC Xt, appreciate your comments. 90% of my travels are country and half of it is at night. My old car was 1991 Nissan Patrol with solid bull bar ( I would prefer to call it "roo bar") and I did hit more than once (unfortunately) some big 'roos and if it had not been for the roo bar, things would have been really bad. I know its probably a bit late, but have you looked at bars from other manufacturers that might be a little more streamline, or have you considered getting one custom made. Regardless...,from your last comments, as much as I hate to say it, if youve hit roos before chances are youll hit them again, and when it comes to safety who gives a hoot what something looks like if its going to do the job you need it to do. Im not sure how much the nudge bar will help hitting a large roo at 100km/h, besides it doesnt have the coverage area a full size bar has so theres more chance of hitting an unprotected area. Also doing a lot of country driving at night Id say youre going to need some decent spotties that need solid mounting. Thank you for your comments MrBishi. It is going to tne the nudge bar (a lot thought went into this as well as a a bit of compromise as to what my wife thinks etc .. ). Will take your advise though and have good spotties fitted

  18. Taka, I live 10 kms from CBD Melbourne and even that close to the City, there are some limitations. For one, it will not accept my street number which is 4 but defaults to 27. I had this problem with a other addresses as well .... ? There are a few other annoying quirks not to mention the often curious routing. And yes, it would be nice to input POI ...

  20. I expect that there are upgraded map. So they will not show I am off the road when I travel through the Pakenham bypass and the new area in the Tullamarine freeway. I hate to say this but what we get in Toyota Kluger satnav is very poor cousin to the most basic portable GPS unit. It is simply not reliable in more ways than one. I need to travel long distances and it helps me a lot, when planning my schedule, to know the arrival times, distances etc ... The Kluger satnav is not very good at this for a lot of reasons but the most annoying is that some of the proposed routes are, couriously, very challenging. So, I still take my Garmin 276C unit which has never let me down. The point is that Garmin uses the same software vendor as the Kluger, i.e., City Navigator Australia 2008 is "Whereis" software. For example, I cannot key-in my home address, it will not accept my street number but someone elses a few houses away and so on. I could go on with more examples .... there is not a logical reason for the limitations put on WhereIs V13 versus WhereIs on Garmin GPS units. Please keep in mind, this is software issue, not hardware and in this respect Toyota has let us down badly. Would like to hear comments from anyone with WhereIs V14 software

  22. Taka, likewise, my wife is not very keen on the 'macho' bullbar and I yet have to decide which way to go, nudge or bull bar. The bull bar is also very good at protecting the bumper bar from stone chips etc ... I am leaning towards the Toyota nudge bar but I would like to hear from Kluger owners that have a bull bar fitted.
  23. Valid comment. The manufactures claims the bull bar is airbag compatible and the front parking sensors can be repositioned/fitted on the bull bar. Here is another image
  24. I do a lot of country night driving and unfortunately, as careful as one can be, there is the occassional wild life road kill. Putting aside the personal risk/danger. the damage to the vehilce can be substantial. The nudge bar is just that, a nudge bar designed for urban driving and will not protect the occupants and/or the car but a bullbar such as the one on the attached picture may well do the job (I am not into offroad 4WD purely highways and country roads) Any comments/views on pros and cons would be appreciated
