  1. $215 Newcastle Toyota last Friday 3/9. 20K service with ECU change etc
  2. Hi All I know some of you are doubting the recall and its motives based on what the service people at a particular dealership tell you. It should be plain to see by from this thread and countless others on this board VERY FEW service managers/underlings know anything about the cars they are trying to service. Especially when it comes to cars that are slightly out of the ordinary such as the sportivo. Wether this is the result of ignorance (thru lack of communication on Toyota Australia's Part) ,just plain incompetence or apathy I dont know and to be honest I dont care. What's Important is to know the facts so that when you come up against one of these morons you can "tell him/her how it is" so to speak. I am much more likely to trust advice given on this board by certain members in the know rather than some "service mongo" Just my 2 cents.....and this is not meant to dis all service depts... as we know some are very good.
  3. Mine has given reliable readings since a got the car (july 03) usually +/- 1 degree with the waether reports on tv/radio cheers Doolybird
  4. Good old Newcastle University. Have been on this site for ages...but hardly ever post. Have owned my Sportivo since July last Year....no major hassles yet (must be lucky) coming up on 20K Km's
  5. IT manager at Uni ....very flexible hours........lets me go surfing whenever I want
  6. 32 *****.......not many of us "oldies" in this forum. Looks like Im going to have to upgrade to an Avalon or Hyundai Sonata from my Sportivo........
  7. Hi Blade Hunter I have had zero issues .......but my headlights were koala spotting as well...got fixed straight away. We must be both lucky or have a higher threshold of annoyance....... Cheers
  8. Hi All Looks like the sportivo has been dropped from the website (it aint there anymore). Does anyone here know why? Cheers
  9. Hi GZE_Bandit 95 ron fuel is normal premium unleaded. 98 ron is the optimax, synergy 8000 , bp ultimate etc. fuel. Regular unleaded has a much lower ron rating than 95 in Australia. I wouldnt put regular unleaded in any performance engine turbo or not........we are not saying the sportivo is a racecar.....but it isnt a regular corolla either Cheers Josh
  10. Mr Duck Got it for $31200 drive away....with no trade
  11. Hi Car has just done 9000kms. Just did 3500k's in 2 and a half weeks over chrissy. on some very windy / bumpy roads on the NSW-QLD border near Mt Lindsay. Only a few very small niggling problems. 1) reverse braking noise....not that bad 2) slight rattle on instrument cover in dash....stops if i put my hand to it 3) Rattle in tailgate when first got it....fixed at 1000k service. Nothing else yet. ***** from reading some of you other guys problems....either Im far more tolerant of small problems or I have a good car. I most likely thinks its the former. Cheers Josh
  12. A white one http://members.iinet.net.au/~doolybird/ Its the only one they had on the lot and I didnt want to wait 3-4 months to get a different colour. Black was my first colour choice (like my old rs turbo) but I am very happy with white. Plus they gave me $1200 off....plus tinting, rust proofing, plastics, floor matts etc for free
