  1. How to adjust it? Can someone please show ???
  2. Sorry guys for the lack of update. Will try to set a date of 28th June. See who will come. If you come then the numbers will be closer to 10 !!!!
  3. Got from Wiki and I've seen this before Automotive fuel additive ---------------------------- Some automotive enthusiasts add acetone at around 1 part in 500 to their fuel, following claims of dramatic improvement in fuel economy and engine life.[3] This practice is controversial as the body of systematic testing shows that acetone has no measurable effect or may in fact reduce engine life by adversely affecting fuel system parts.[4][5][6] Debates on this subject and the perrenial claims of a "Big Oil" cover-up intensified when the practice was addressed on the popular American TV show MythBusters in 2006, and shown to have negative effect in the televised fuel economy test.[7]. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acetone
  4. Rebuild the engine, some forged piston and its ready for a turbo!!!! Aiyeh ka ramba baby! BOOST !!!!!!!!!!!! ..........
  5. Thanks... I guess what I'm looking for is doing a turbo charger.. is there really anything I need to replace on the engine itself to handle the turbo? Try http://www.mmsport.com.au/ for Meridian Motorsports. They're great and deal with kits (turbocharge or supercharge) specially for the 2ZZ-GE engine. They're even developing kits to make your engine from 1.8 to 2.0 but that's like a total overhaul. Hahahahha, i was drooling when I heard that. But it's gonna set you back at least 5 grand (minimum) to 10 grand. They are good and will be worth your money but not cheap. You get what you pay for. Speak to Toby. He's your Toyota man there. I'm sure a few of the guys here can tell you the same story.
  6. Roil Roil Roil We want Roil Roil Roil Roil Roil Roil Roil Roil Roil Roil Roil Roil Roil Roil Roil Roil Roil Roil Roil Roil Roil Roil Roil Roil :P
  7. Not sure what sort of product did you use last time. This stuff really makes my car much smoother to drive. I put the same thing in my girlfriend's car and she even can feel the difference. For a girl that knew nothing about car to feel such a difference, i should say it must be working to make such a difference. smetimes i'd like to call them the psychological changes :P... its all in ur head!!.... :P :P Placebo effect or butt dyno (my butt tells me its better/faster) I used heaps of all these additives on my previous car (1994 Hyundai Excel) Not sure if its because of the age of the car or what but don't feel much difference. I use the odometer on my car to see what mileage I've done and see if there are improvements. Not obvious is what I can say. Have yet to try it on the new Stivo but what is life without a bit of risk :P Something tells me I'm gonna get flamed for that statement! Hehehhe.... Maybe we can put in some Roil.
  8. I reakon the Turanzas are not bad. Had it in my previous car. Grip like hell ......... They're a quiet tyre, yet have a hard compound that somehow wear out very fast. Not a fan myself :( What similar tyres would you recommend then? I hate mine atm. Want to change into something similar to the stock Turanza but someone told me its expensive for the job it does. Which other similar tyre?
  9. hahahahha. That question have been bogging me for the longest time. Keep the foggies on or the CAI cold ..... I'll leave them foggies off now .........
  10. Can I ask how does the engine oil look with that autobarn drift filter? Is it dirtier? Is it doing a good job trapping 5h!t ???? How dirty is it now? Trying to decide between drift and apexi ...........
  11. Y the question? You replacing them?

  13. How much and from where? My 3 bottle of lightweight shockproof cost me about 30 ++ each. Can't remember now. it cost about the same as the shockproof, about 103 all up. i bought them from burson autoparts in sunshine. watch out if you're going to get it from the burson branch in west melbourne, there's this idiot who didn't know that there was a type of redline oil called mt90, yet didn't want to admit it, telling me there was no such thing. he was only convinced after he rang his supplier. and he tried to make me buy a 4 litre bottle of lightweight shockproof, telling me it was the mt90, because they didn't have the mt90 in stock, while what i asked for was three 1 litre bottles of mt90, cause that was all I needed. like how stupid can this guy get? i was pretty ticked off and was like: screw it. i left and rang up the sunshine branch, took a drive there 2 hrs later and all done. No worries. Sth Eastern Suburb. Will go to the springvale one to catch it. The nxt service due this year end. Will fix it up then. Won't be too late I hope .......... Does anyone know how long do we leave the gearbox oil in for? 50,000 KM ? 2 years? Driving style is to and from work with occasional track and the LIFT !
  14. Fine you for $116 of your lunch money.
  15. http://www.dpc.vic.gov.au/domino/Web_Notes...33;OpenDocument Referenced from the link above. My Stivo is gonna look 5h!t without them foggies on.

  17. Looks like I will be draining my gear oil anyways ...... MT90 is the one to go .....
  18. From http://www.redlineoil.com/products_gearlub...mp;categoryID=7 MT-90 Popular in Nissan, Toyota and Mazda manual transmissions and transaxles as well as other selected applications, this is a 75W90 GL-4 Gear Oil that’s slightly heavier than MTL. Provides excellent protection of gears and synchronizers and its balanced slipperiness provides a perfect coefficient of friction, allowing easier shifting. From http://www.redlineoil.com/products_gearlub...mp;categoryID=6 Lightweight ShockProof® A unique gear oil designed to lubricate racing transmissions and transaxles which see serious loads (not recommended for most syncro-type transmissions). It has excellent low-temperature flow which allows easier shifting when cold. May be used to obtain maximum power transfer in racing differentials which do not see high temperatures. Similar to a 75W140 gear oil, but with the lower internal friction of an SAE 30 motor oil. Used in most road-racing differentials with moderate power and dogring racing transaxles.
  19. I'm using the Motul Semi-Synthetic without any issues. But any of the other big brands will be fine. I'll have to annoy SB for some of this Roil stuff. I'm told by a reputable race engine/gearbox shop that the issue with the Redline is the oil is too slippery for the synchros to do their thing. Hence why it shouldn't be used in a synchro gearbox. Yet, some forum users use it like holy water here. Hmmmm ............... So no redline oils at all or just the shockproof? Which is better to use? MT90? Motul?
  20. I use to just have the fully synthetic 75W90 (don't know and don't care what it is) in it. Notchy ay every revs and notchy at every speed or temp. Shifting was a nightmare! Totally. I would stay up in the middle of then night and wander how come its so *****. And this was after a full fluid drain when I got the car (2nd hand). So *****. I of course complained and after a week, I brought it back (to my mechanic) and this time he had 3 x 1 liter bottle of redline lightweight shockproof. It was a blue liquid, i swore it could almost glow in the dark! He did a full flush of the old/new gear oil and put this stuff in. Test drove it, was much better but still notchy when changing gears at high revs. Low revs is OK (notice the OK and JUST OK). A bit smoother when shifting. As you can read some of my posts, I was still biatching about it. Cold starts in the morning was also just so so ............ Then I found out about Roil but couldn't get it. So I went the best of the worse thing, Nulon G70! Its a manual gearbox and diff conditioner. Also good for LSD. Having said that, it costs me $9.75 per 125ml bottle at K-Mart (25% sale). I was suppose to use 125ml for every 2 liter of gear oil. None the less, I was fed up so I put 2 bottles in for only 2.3 liters of gear oil. That is 250ml meant for 4 liters of gear oil. I tell you, smooth as ssssssssssssssss ................................. No prblems in cold. No problems at low revs. No problems at high revs ........ All fixed. Shifting has been wonderful ! To put it in another word .......... uber ???
  21. If this is happening then it should be 28th June or later. Thinking sometime 5th July. Will confirm with the place and get back to you guys. Then we'll make a list. Or we could always list it now ........... 1) Guni 2) wil_rolla (tentative on date) 3) Saj 4) dannywss
