  1. Don't care about stretch. How about scrubage ???

    stretch is the bomb guan.

    So 16x7 with a 38 offset and I won't scrub on a 205 50 16 tyres ???

I've got 16 x 7 +43 using 205/50R16 RE001s... Fits like it was meant to from factory... *nudge nudge Toyota* lolz

  2. not a yaris, i don't care how jdm ppl think they are

    whitestivo

Not a Stivo either... I don't care what people think of them :P

I wouldn't touch Caldina unless you like being a owner of a fairly rare car in Australia with possibly only the engine having something in common with other Toyota. This isn't against the Caldina, I've driven both the ST215 (GT-T) and ST246 (GT-Four), they're really something! However even if you have minor issues and need replacement parts, it'll be difficult to source...

  3. fair comment not everyone here is biased but most of the people aren't exactly gonna say bad things about their sportivo's

also, getting off topic a litte, the tyre R's are awesome but probably arent as good as daily drives as say a sportivo but for the track, the r's especially the integra is good

also agree with waiting for the right car, i ended up looking at 6 sportivo's b4 i got the right one so look around

The old Type-Rs aren't for you if you think its not a good daily compared to Sportivo :P It never was and never will be "comfortable" ;) It was made purely to beat the living crap out of anything that's in its class and scare those above it XD

Type-Rs are basically (Old Type-Rs were, the newer ones are soft as...) road legal racers :) Never aimed at your average person wanting a little fast daily =P Minimalistic and raw is the best way to describe them =) They're made to go as fast as possible (NOT in a straight-line, absolutely not what Type-Rs are about) with total efficiency of all components, stuff creature comfort, road noise, etc etc etc...

If you can't handle that, don't bother =P

  4. Diesel sound? Sounds like tappet/shim issues...

Well this happens with the 20V squad anyway... Unsure if it directly applies to you guys... Use the correct viscosity and quality oil, your diesel sound should be heavily reduced... Eventually however engine rebuild is a must. Mine stock engine seems to be like this, it lets you know when you're using the incorrect oil (very quickly the diesel sound develops). Since changing the oil viscosity and quality, my "diesel" has been heavily reduced...

When your engine reaches a certain age, sometimes 5,000kms is a little too much, you're Toyota will let you know :)
