  1. Dwyers Toyota Bairnsdale Victoria (its listed in one of my replies) You will find ALL OF THEM, will be singing the same tune on this cluster f7ck. I have had no return phone call today, I'd say they are sh7tting themselves as well as Toyota in general! I bet they did not expect to have to deal with such a group of outraged majority rather than minority customers ;) DON'T GIVE UP THE FIGHT!!!!
  2. Out of curiosity, if any rubber will degrade over time, then how come a fair amount of the oil lines from the engine/transmission to the radiator and all around the engine use rubber. If those fail you would get some pretty bad effects as well. Im just wondering if it was the composition of the rubber hose or the lack of reinforcing in the hose. Simple answer no rubber wonder hose is suitable in that position/application, that is why no new engine is fitted with it ;)
  3. Out of curiosity, if any rubber will degrade over time, then how come a fair amount of the oil lines from the engine/transmission to the radiator and all around the engine use rubber. If those fail you would get some pretty bad effects as well. You need to be clear on what those hoses are doing and what they are exposed too & how they are constructed and fastened as well. On the motor we have if you have a close detailed look the rubber condom hose has some token bits of urethane to help it stop rubbing against the motor lol, this is not required on the hard line. Also if you put your hand on the hose with the motor running you will see it under a fair few stresses, Rubber with dodgy spring clamps relax over time so sealing integrity years down the track is questionable as the rubber sets in position and the pre load of the spring clamp is vastly reduced. Other types of external rubberized lines like used on oil coolers under pressure are a crimped enclosed style of fastening and they are much more capable item, bit like what you would find an a hydraulic actuator you see on any tractor or earth moving bit of gear. Water at 15 psi pressure is far different to oil at up to 130 deg C containing all types of acidic nasty by products of combustion and being subject to minimal amounts of cooling air wedged in against the motor and the right hand strut tower. This is why this "optimal solution" is not found on any new version of this engine, it is a disaster waiting to happen in reality. Very poor engineering decision at the start, least new motors rectified this design defect. These "amazing rubber solutions" need TIME to be properly tested, this cannot be accelerated or done over a small sample range you need 5 years + and thousands of repeated results to guarantee this wonder solution where the original wonder solution FAILED lol in the test of time *remember that*. thus from this point on Toyota made the choice to go with tried and proven solid line known for 50+ years to not fail or try the next wonder bit of rubber with using all of us as a test bed lol. Deep down I know its just a cop out to get through the last 18 months of warranty and then its a problem the poor sucker owner will need to face and not Toyota or their Dealers ;)
  4. Just wait until your car gets recalled for a fatal engine fault and your treated like a f7cken idiot and are asked to accept a sub standard 50 cents rubber repair that is not good enough for the new vehicles in the Dealers lot OH WHAT A FEELING ! Toyota!!!
  5. Ok, now I understand! thanks for educating me :D I agree, it isnt right and something has to be done about it. Does anyone know if they replaced it with the full metal line in the US? Earlier on in this thread another member listed the service bulletin which shows and recommends a solid line and lists all of the part numbers :) To quote him Toyota then got sneaky after figuring out chief executives may have to delay their new boat purchases due to the increased pay outs on needing to do this to hundreds of thousands of individual cars! thus the MAGIC RUBBER CONDOM SOLUTION FROM HELL! which is not acceptable for any new engine but is o.k. for us LOL
  6. ^Rubbish, this is an accountant dealer lie put out to make you feel better about being scammed into a shoddy low cost repair. Simple cross check is to see what the correct solution is on all new cars ;) < you will find a proper hard line from factory :D I agree, the new engines will tell us what the best solution is.. but what is wrong with the new "improved" line that has rubber? Any rubber exposed to hydrocarbons and heat cycles let alone years of duty degrade and fail, it is a totally unsuitable material to be used on a critical component such as this. Thus it is not fitted to any new version of this engine, why? because Toyota do not want to fork out for failed engine many years down the track. For us though apparently the new solution will get us past the warranty period then its go suck a massive c7ck when your motor blows as we don't care attitude from Mr Accountant backed Toyota Motor Corporation. I am not sure about you but I have been building cars since 1992 and I know what is garbage and I know when people are trying to save them selves work and money, I wont be settling for a BS fix that is not good enough for all new cars ;) and neither should any one of you either.
  7. Rubbish! Any rubber will degrade and fail over time, a hard line will not, thus NO car from factory is fitted with the "special rubber line" Its a penny pinching exercise period. I do not give a sh7t what my dealer needs to do to fix the problem correctly like on ALL NEW CARS, I will NOT put up with a sub standard repair no matter how costly it is for them to fix the f7ck up they did originally. Pure and Simple.
  8. ^Rubbish, this is an accountant dealer lie put out to make you feel better about being scammed into a shoddy low cost repair. Simple cross check is to see what the correct solution is on all new cars ;) < you will find a proper hard line from factory :D
  9. Dwyers Toyota, Bairnsdale, Victoria http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...t=0&start=0 Stay tuned! They have promised to keep me happy on the dodgy oil pipe engine blow up scandal.
  10. http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...t=0&start=0 ^ I am finding Toyota to be a total joke, and in my case its over a $40 part *proper fix* V's a 50 Cents fix to save their **** in multi million dollar recall. Lord help me if I pop the motor like you have, Toyota is a Joke I will never buy one again.
  11. http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...t=0&start=0 WARNING! ALL OF YOU RECOMMENDED READING
  12. I would not be accepting that as from factory all cars are fitted with a proper fix, that being a hard line. I have taken it upon myself to highlight this double standard for us who have bought a dud and are being forced to accept an accountants decision V's the proper engineering solution as found on a car your would buy today ;) Don't take it lying down, it is your right to get the proper fix and not the 50 cents Toyota boat Christmas fund appeal fix ;) for anyone interested you can read my spray on this issue here > http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...t=0&start=0
  13. http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...showtopic=25078 ^ Highly recommend reading for ANYONE with a 3.5lt V6 engine (with dodgy rubber oil feed line that is proven to cause ENGINE FAILURE!) as I have in this car. Since this thread is so popular and gets many hits and comes up high on search engines I would like to make this as visible as is possible towards Toyota's level of shoddiness and sub standard treatment of customers in an effort to keep their accountants happy and retain a big fat Christmas bonus for the C&UNTS who authorize these sub standard level of "warranty call back repairs" BE WARNED (if affected) you will be f7cked around and will have to take it upon yourself to get a suitable outcome from this company. This has f7cked me off so much that this piece of sh7t of a car will be for sale and I will NEVER EVER buy another motor vehicle from these tight ****'s ever again nor will I recommend anyone else to either.
  14. I hope a bit of my rage & willingness to detail it here gives people the tools to get appropriate & common sense (dare I say decent) action for themselves as well. I won't let it rest due to my engineering background and other life experiences (where I too like them had to lie to save a buck for my company at anyone *but ours* expense) unlike Toyota though I learned from my bad ways when I was younger and did not know the true meaning of Karma. Least this way the Dealers can Man Up and take it upon themselves to have a happy return customer (all over Australia repeated dare I say thousands of times), or if they are short minded and all ready have Christmas holidays booked or put down down payment on a new boat well they too will realize that with the power of modern technology and viral spreading of internet information that it will cost them quite a bit of business ;) < that is something you don't get taught in Accountancy studies :D I know I will get my own situation sorted, but it really hurts me to know that most people really if it were not for People like yourself and lesser extent me who make an issue of this blatant double standard would otherwise just cop the BS line delivered to them and not even question it (difference between a cheap shoddy repair and the proper one from factory). It is a real pity it has to come to this, but that is what happens when you are talking bottom lines and profit margins !
  15. The new hard line in the proper fix solution dealer directive as found on all new engines is this "This line have been improved to prevent this condition" < before the accountants worked out it will cost them too much money!@ V's us "We don't give a f7ck about you or your car, and for $40 saving to us we will stick in a top quality piece of rubber and feed you bullsh7t through our service department saying the Engineers deem this to be a perfect quality fix" If this is the case WTF are not all engines fitted with this high quality rubber condom of death like they want us to accept Even blind Freddy can see we are all getting screwed so these shallow accountant driven profit whores can have a Merry Christmas bonus, while we all have to put up with a sub standard botch job performed on the cars we parted our hard earned ca$h on, just to know that all new cars have this fatal fault rectified in the proper way.
  16. NOTE: this is funny look who I got a f7cking reply from. Peter Thanks for your email re your concern raised to me today. We have left a message with Toyota Technical Assistance to give us a call, so we can confirm with their Engineers that your suggested fix is OK with your vehicle. Will keep you informed, but probably won't be until Monday Regards Reg Holt Accountant Phone 03 5152 9797 Driect 03 5152 9704 Email rholt@dwyers.com.au My returned message ! G’day Reg, It’s std on the 2009 Blue Kluger in your lot we looked at today. For your knowledge I am a qualified Mechanical Engineer and Automobile Mechanic and also a Fitter and Machinist  so when I see some dodgy fix like was performed on my car today it makes me sick (and a fair bit angry). To add insult to injury this faulty part is no longer used on new spec vehicles fitted with this engine, it’s a bit hard to swallow. If you can make sure that your parts department gets in the proper replacement pipe as fitted on the 2009 models then I will be happy to have this factory warranty repair conducted to a standard I find acceptable. Best Regards. Peter www.riceracing.com.au WTF an accountant needs to ring some sh7t hotline to check my request when every car in their sh7t dealership is fitted with the proper hard oil line is totally beyond me. These people are flat out retarded! If I ran my business like this I would have no customers! The proper reply would be: Peter we are finding the correct part number as per your request and will FIX YOUR VEHICLE AS PER THE STANDARD THEY ARE DELIVERED FROM THE FACTORY FOR YOU. SORRY FOR WASTING 2 HOURS OF YOUR TIME TODAY and we look forward to rectifying the situation as quickly as is possible
  17. Also a good time to quote the Trade Practices Act and "Fit for purpose" requirements. Absolutely, IMHO any argument they have is destroyed by popping the bonnet on any new car fitted with this motor I am still so angry about this, being a realist I suppose this is what happens when you put accountants in preference to engineers and customer satisfaction on the bottom of your priority list as a company. Simple maths like I told my dealer today multiply however many millions of cars by $40 V's 50 cents and there goes your CEO and chief executives new boat or overseas holiday plans. Best thing we can ALL do is arc up and give it to these kents! and tell as many people as you possibly can if you get screwed around with the cheap fob off options Toyota are hoping you will settle with. Get on it people and feel free to e-mail this thread to your Dealers E-Mail. The more of us who express our rage for Toyota to see the more it will benefit people who are not as resourceful as us and the same poor ones who will have to pay for a premature engine rebuild long after Toyota and your dealer have wiped their hands clear of you and their sh7t product they made originally once the token warranty on rubber oil feed hoses has expired LOL .
  18. I think thread title needs a tweak or two :P WARNING!!! dodgy Toyota penny pinching scam alert or something like that lol c7nts
  19. Yes bastards ! Its pretty clear cut to me, the new cars are not fitted with garbage like we have. It's a pure penny pinching exercise nothing more or less. Really did not expect that from a company like Toyota, and it is so f7cking blatant! IMHO why change on all new cars to superior one piece item Makes me sick, wtf uses a rubber hose on a critical oil feed line anyway! that is just flat out dodgy! then to not go all out with the proper fix for all the poor customers who bought cars earlier but in the same breath to sell cars with a proper oiling system is plain slap in the face to all of us FFS I don't even think Holden would be this shonky!
  20. Bypass your service manager is all advise I can give you, they are programmed to feed you bs, go straight to the top and make plenty of noise. Do not be ashamed or feel awkward about doing the same as I have. If the Dealer is worth his weight in dog sh7t then he will swallow the $40 worth of proper parts and extra hour of labor for the 50 or 60 grand they skinned off you when you bought your car. There is no excuse to implement a shoddy dodgy fix like this on a quality car like the Kluger. Tight economic times means they try every trick in the book to cut costs, but when it so blatantly dodgy a fix like this you have to question WTF the Toyota brand is coming too! especially given back in the fix for a POS Avalon they went out and did it properly just like on the new car you buy. That is my say for the day, I hope it helps people in their battles too. Peter
  21. E-Mail follow up I sent my Dealer ;) Hello, I am the owner of the blue Toyota Kluger who today talked to one of your managers about the shoddy fix Toyota have implemented on the Toyota Kluger. Here is a link for your company to read why I as a customer today was VERY ANNOYED. http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...mp;#entry364663 I have gone out of my way to show how the repair should be properly done and what parts and service recall bulletins Toyota themselves used on the Avalon. For me owning a Kluger which I paid lots for to have it fixed a shoddy cheap way to save Toyota Motor Corp and Toyota Australia is not acceptable. I trust you will rectify this situation as soon as possible at least in my case. As I showed your service manager today all of your new Toyota Klugers are fitted with a solid pipe (just as per the proper fix on the Avalon). I expect the same to be done on my car which only just missed out on getting the proper factory fix by a couple on months. Best Regards. Peter
  22. Here is the proper fix on the Avalon! I just wanted to alert everyone here about a possible design defect in the 2GR-FE V-6 engine. There have been many reports about an oil line leaking/rupturing causing catastrophic loss of oil in Avalons, Camrys, and RAV4's with the V-6. Here is some information I've cobbled up from several forums: There is a TSB out for the newer Avalons concerning a small pinhole leak from the rear bank VVTI oil feed hose which can grow into a larger leak, and in some cases, cause catastrophic failure due to lack of oil in the system. The problem is that Toyota has ONLY issued a TSB for the Avalon, even though this EXACT same condition can (and has) happened on ALL Toyota vehicles using the 2GR engine. This is causing a MAJOR headache for dealerships (especially the people that handle the paperwork), along with the customers that go through this problem. Try calling a Toyota dealer and ask for the parts department. Ask the guy for Part 15772-31030 "Pipe Sub-AS". When they tell you its on national backorder ask them why. From what I can tell the V6 engine, a 2GR-FE is also used in the Avalon, Sienna, RAV4, Lexus ES and RX 350 models, Highlander and Previa. The part # 15707-31030 is the one with the rubber connection. The replacement part that was installed in all of the RAV4s Limited V6s on 04/2008 and later is metal and the part number is 15772-31030. Here is the Avalon TSB: Why we get inferior service with the Kluger which we paid over 60 grand for is totally beyond me!!!
  23. Taken from another thread this is what SHOULD be replaced ($45 worth instead of $0.50 worth of rubber and spring clamps). http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...showtopic=22775 Full thread on proper rectification of problem just as they are done on all new vehicles fitted with this motor! If you wanted to be safe like I am, you can purchase the replacement pipe plus gaskets for around $45 and either change this yourself, or get Toyota or another mechanic to change it for you at cost. The part numbers are: Pipe Oil No. 2 - 15772-31030 Gasket - 90430-16012 Gasket - 90430-16016 Gasket - 90430-16017 Rubber original two part assembly feeding back half of motor as on our Kluger fitment Solid part as fitted to ALL new Klugers! Just show your dealer if he is dumb New proper part fitted (notice no dodgy rubber!) which Toyota them selves have abandoned!@ Do not put up with this dodgy solution put forward by Toyota Australia! Make sure you go straight to the TOP! at the Dealer you bough your car and refer to this thread if you want :) I wont put up with this crap and neither should you as a paying customer. Like I said defies any logic except one of saving money for Toyota at YOUR EXPENSE!
  24. WARNING! Just had mine done, and it was replaced with dodgy rubber crap! I went off my brain to the manager of the Toyota dealership and told him this penny pinching exercise of Toyota is nothing short of a joke and I would NEVER buy another car from them or this company if they think that they can get away with a shoddy "upgrade with better spec rubber" solution. When every new properly fixed from factory new engine has a solid pipe as I showed them in their own dealership!!! Manager promised me that he would resolve the issue to make me happy. I hope everyone kicks up as much of a stink as I did highlighting the obvious logic flaw in this cheap money saving exercise Toyota Motor corporation has decided to embark on.
  25. Just got my letter in the mail this morning :o going in at 1pm to get it changed :D Told the dealer: "Toyota sent me a letter saying I have a dud and it is going to blow up"
