  2. Well in my country (Barbados)we have no laws against decatting and loud exhausts and all that stuff. Mods are limitless.......but parts are to darn expensive as we have to import and pay super high taxes.
  3. Well the circle eyes are more continuous and therefore appear more complete but you would have them both in person to make your decision.
  4. That instrument cluster looks really cool.
  5. Well guys, anyone who knows anything about cars knows that hp doesn't come that cheap. However, many people are quite gullible and overenthusiastic when it comes to modding their cars and jump at cheap opportunities to increase performance. What many of these products do is send your car backwards performance wise and can even cause component damage. There are some small things that can be done to boost your vehicle's performance but we all know that 20hp doesn't come so easily. I started this thread to see if anyone could shed some light on the possible hazards of this dodgy aftermarket mod.
  6. Ummm, I think I'll pass on this one but thanks for the advice.
  7. What you guys think of this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/20BHP-TOYOTA-YARIS-C...id=p3913.c0.m22 Claims +20hp.
  8. You know the 20v 4age is infamous for poppin a flame on the shifts but I have not seen a 2zz do suc Has anyone here seen a Sportivo poppin any flames? Is this a common thing or is it rare for a 2zz to do so without ecu tuning and cat removal? What I'm getting at is - Will it backfire with just a straight through exhaust? I absolutely love that vroooom......PAX!!! - with the accompanying flame.
  9. Putting that on a 1zz is over kill. 2.25" tops unless you are doing a hell of a lot of internal work. i think was preping him self for the S/C that is strapped to the side of the 1zz now.... :D back to the topic, i'v spoken to a few exhaust places aswell, and afew of them actully said that alot of the cheap stuff will actully make your car go backwards in power... so i think, regardless of what you get, spend your money on proven gains... dosen't matter whther its a CES or a redback... How can freeing up the exhaust make negative power? Unless you make it outrageously large.
  10. Well it seems that since the stock exhaust is less than or equal to a quarter inch smaller than 2.5'' that the gains are not that great or even noticeable without a good after market muffler. Since the stock exhaust size provides adequate flow and back pressure it would be feasible to just keep your stock piping and get a good muffler to improve your top end especially. The next step would be CAI(if you don't already have one as it is a basic mod) and headers if have the cash for the PPE ones. That's my 2 cents.
  11. There should be a hose to reconnect to the intake.
  12. I've done some searching at retailers and on Ebay w.r.t. acquiring a OBDII reader and I have come across units ranging from $25 to $400 and most of them claim to do the same basic things. Does anybody here have any advice on a good OBD scanner? Thank you.
  13. Man and boy's best friend too. Wth. This goes to show the terrible addictiveness of the Wii.
  14. Didn't start this thread to highlight or promote illegal street racing. It was just a topic for fellow car enthusiasts to express their views on a particular comparison arising from a chanced encounter, with the hope of possibly enlightening others on the characteristics and potential of the cars in question. I pretty much think there will be enough info on a Sportivo on here to see what the potential of the car has. A "chanced encounter" is pretty much on the road which means street racing. You mighten be promoting it but you have people who are silly enough to say " i race a such and such down such and such a street and we were doing this speed and i nearly beat him." To me that is encouraging other to tell of their stories of their street racing. Like I said before if people want to talk about breaking the law then do it on MSN. Or I will delete any posts mentioning any illegal road activity. Cool.

  16. Well that's not my territory cuz I got the jdm one where speedo doesn't go pass 180.
  17. A few days I met a WRX on a highway in my Allex and I expected it to blow me away but I was able to keep up with it for the most part - the WRX only pulled away slightly and only in the lower rpm's. Has anyone here in their Sportivo/Runx/Allex/T-sport or whatever battled a WRX or similar and what was the outcome?
  18. Sorry no pics. This procedure should not be done unless you have some serious patience. There some important parts that have to be reused (the top and bottom caps, a top cap rubber washer w/ short plastic tube, and the rubber that holds the pump up into the top cap, and some other obvious parts). I got it done finally but I wouldn't want to do it again. Anyway, if anyone needs any specific advice I can answer any questions about the procedure.
  19. Thanks for the feedback. Will be attempting this today. I'll try to get some pics of the procedure.
  20. Hey guys, I got a fuel filter to replace in a 2002 Corolla but I am not sure of the location of the fuel pump fuse or the actual procedure. Anybody know if this is a DIY job and if so what are the steps. Thanks.
