  1. After doing some research on the Defi DIN guage, if I were to purchase this product, would it be possible for me to remove the 3 gauges supplied with the product and put in 3 of my own seeing as I already have an Autometer oil pressure, voltmeter and vacuum gauge installed in the vehicle or is the product fully sealed and prevents any such alterations? As an alternative if I were to use the DIN bracket (the one with the 3 holes in it) that xoom put up in his last post would it fit right into the bottom section of the existing headunit or would I have to mount that on the front of some sort of DIN housing and then screw the DIN housing into the bottom section of my existing 2 DIN slot? Once again many thanks for all the responses and I look forward to getting these final questions answered as that will determine which set-up I use. Regards
  2. That's exactly what I mean xoom. Now that I know this set-up is possible can you tell me where you were able to source that kit from? I live in Barbados, West Indies so if you purchased it locally I may not be able to have access to the same shops that you did that's why I'm hoping that you purchased it on the Internet. Thanks again!
  3. Are they any conversion kits that allow me to convert the double DIN space that the radio fits in, into two single DIN’s so that I can install a DIN radio in the top space and then install three(3) 2-1/16” gauges in the bottom. The car in question is a 2001 Toyota Sportivo I’ve searched on the Internet and I can’t find any information, and hopefully there will be someone on this fforum who would’ve already done this on their car or can point me in the right direction. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  4. 1. 00602-17802-001 2. http://www.toyotapartsstore.com/default.php?cPath=53_62 - TRD USA website. The CAI can be ordered from that site 3. http://www.trdparts.jp/english/list_zze.html - TRD Japan website 4. http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=e...hl%3Den%26lr%3D - C-ONE Motorsport website Hope this helps.
  5. I installed the spacer between the upper pillowball mount and the upper spring seat and the problem that I was having with the metallic "chong" noise when the wheels were moving towards either "full left" or "full right" lock has been rectified.
  6. Has anyone here installed the C-ONE pyro ball upper mount set (part #: CS4860-ZT230) on their Sportivo. http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=e...hl%3Den%26lr%3D If so, I need to know if the 2 small spacers supplied need to be used or not as I plan to install them on my coilovers.
  7. I own a JDM 2001 Toyota Runx and I should have the Tein® Basic Wagon height-adjustable suspension in my possession within 2 weeks and am planning on lowering my car approximately 41mm . My question is, can I fit 215/55 R15 tyres to my vehicle without them rubbing the wheel arch guards as well as the engine and gearbox guards when the wheels are in the max. right or max left lock position either right or left? I currently have on the OEM 195/60 R15. Additionally, any rim offset that would be required to ensure that I do not have this problem would also be greatly appreciated.
  8. I own a 2001 Toyota Runx w/ 2ZZ-GE engine and I recently purchased a Greddy oil block/sensor adapter which can be seen below: I intend to install an Autometer oil pressure guage w/ corresponding sending unit and I would like to know if anyone here who has a similar product installed on their vehicle has had any issues with mounting the sending unit directly to the oil block/sensor adapter. The sending unit has 1/8" NPT threads and two(2) of the outlets on the oil block/sensor adapter have 1/8" NPT threads. Additionally, if any of you have the sending unit mounted anywhere else other than the oil block/sensor adapter you can let me know as well as posting any pictures of the set-up. Thanks in advance.
  9. Does anyone here have the C-ONE thermostat and radiator pressure cap installed on their Sportivo's and if so, have there been any problems associated with such an installation. I'm just a bit concerned at the fact that the C-ONE thermostat opening temperature is 68 °C and I believe the radiator cap opening pressure is 131 kPa.
  10. I think that the front pyro upper mount camber plate set from C-ONE is an all-around better choice than those Monroe camber bolts. The link to the C-ONE product is shown below: http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=e...hl%3Den%26lr%3D In addition to giving you a much stiffer top suspension mounting point, it also has graduations on the camber plate scale to allow you to adjust your camber to suit. The problem I find with the camber bolts shown by Monroe is that over time the elevated step on the bolt wears down and you lose some of your adjustability as well as the fact that should you have to change your shocks for any reason and a "mark" is not made on the position of the bolt head, you can alter your cmaber when putting the bolt back in to tighten up the installation of the new shock.
  11. The torque value on those nuts is 149 Nm/110 lb-ft. I installed this myself as well and torqued the nuts to specification and I haven't had a problem. It handles better as well although it can tend to oversteer sometimes but for me, that is not really a problem.
  12. I own a JDM Toyota Runx (equivalent to the AusDM Toyota Sportivo) and I am planning on installing some automotive guages in my car and I wanted to know what is the wire guage size of the wires existing in the car, that is, AWG 12, 14 et cetera. I have been given an estimate on AWG 14 wire from my local electrical shop so that is the reason I am asking as I don’t want the voltage drop that would come from connecting wires of different sizes to be too significant Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.
  13. I have been looking around on the Internet for some stainless steel brake lines and the only company that I see that manufactures them for the ZZE123 Runx is TRD. I was wondering if anyone on this forum has stainless steel brake lines fitted to their car and if so, what is the name of the manufacturer. I live in Barbados and to order TRD parts through my local dealer will take approximately 3 months to get here :( Therefore, the names of some alternative manufacturers that would ship to Barbados would be greatly appreciated as I would like this item as soon as possible and preferably without having to go through my local dealer.
  14. I live in Barbados and I own a JDM Toyota Corolla Runx and I too have completed this modification. As long as you have located the wiring harness for both the RH and LH fog lights, you will need the following items: 1) RH and LH Fog lights 2) Fog light relay 3) Fog light/Indicator/Headlamp stalk I purchased an ESUSE fog light kit and I only used the fog lights and the fog light relay from that kit. I did not want to splice the wires and install a switch, so I purchased item 3) from our local Toyota dealership for US$112.50 and it was simply a matter of taking out the existing switch and replacing it with the new one that I purchased from the dealership. However, if you so desire, items 1) – 3) can be purchased from your local Toyota dealership albeit and a more costly price. P.S: I will post the part # for item 3) tomorrow as that information is at home. Good luck and you can message me if you need more details about the installation
  15. Has anyone here installed any fuel pressure guages on their Sportivo's and if so, could you give a brief description as to where the sender was mounted and the location on the engine's fuel system where the sender sensing line was "tapped in". Thanks in advance.
  16. I am in the planning phases for the installation of an Autometer® oil pressure guage on my car, which is a 2001 Toyota Runx Z. I plan on mounting the sender that came with the guage somewhere in the engine bay but in close proximity to the OEM oil light unit, as the sender is not as light as I expected. My question is, what is the thread type and the hole diameter (1/8" BSP, 1/4" NPT et cetera)for the OEM oil light unit as I plan to use a T-fitting so that I can accommodate both the OEM oil light unit and the stainless steel hose that will transfer my engine oil to the guage sender unit. Any assistance is greatly appreciated
  17. Great work SuperDave. It's always nice when a member posts step-by-step instructions for a technical item as it saves all of the DIYers some money :D
  18. Can anyone tell me, especially vitagen, what was the reason that your brakes used to squeal only when in reverse, I have that problem too and maybe you can shed some light on the situation or even point me to the link of the TSB that deals with this problem. I do not want to take this back to the dealer as my car is not out of warranty and I can probably do the modification work myself. Thanks in advance.
  19. You can also try the TRD Sports oil filter. This allows you to change your oil every 6000 km as opposed to every 5000 km if you were using the OEM filter. Here's a link to it: http://www.trdparts.jp/english/parts_oil-filter.htm
  20. Buzziesportivo & Northy: Thanks for your responses. I really appreciate it and I will definately go ahead and purchase these products. Sportiyo: I got that picture by copying it from another member on this forum, I can't remember his forum name, but you are free to do the same with mine if you so desire.
  21. I own a 2001 Toyota Corolla Runx 1800cc 2ZZ-GE engine w/ the 6-speed gearbox and I am thinking about installing both the TRD radiator pressure cap and the TRD thermostat, however I would like to hear from people who have both of these products installed if they ever had any problems with their radiators "springing a leak" shortly after these products were installed due to the increased pressure that the system will be under due to the higher-pressure radiator cap. Just for analytical purposes, I think, unless I am proven otherwise that these upgrades will give the engine a greater temperature band to run in without getting unnessarily hot since the standard pressure cap operates at 88kPa which means that the water in the system will boil out at 96 degress Celsius whereas, with the new cap its rating is 127 kPa with a corresponding boiling temperature of 106 degreres Celsius, also the new thermostat opens at 71 degrees Celsius therefore, the operating range of my engine can be anywhere between 71 - 106 degrees Celsius with the cooling fans cutting in at 93 degrees Celsius as they normally do, however, my only concern with this upgrade is the issue I think there might be with the radiator. Can anyone share their thoughts and experiences. Thanks
  22. Does anyone have step-by-step instructions for removing the rear spoiler on a Toyota Corolla Sportivo so that the brake light cluster can be changed if any of the bulbs are blown. Thanks!
  23. I own a 2001 Toyota Corolla Runx and I am trying to find a possible location where I can purchase silicone coloured hoses for the cooling system (radiator hoses, throttle body hoses, etc) and maybe some of the other rubber hoses in the engine. I live in Barbados and any help rendered by any of you will be greatly appreciated.
  24. I know this might be a stupid question, but how do I know if my Sportivo has "Daytime Running Lights" installed. Thanks.
