  1. A new wheel has been thrown into the mix - old faithful B.boss Eleanors...but these are from the Black series apparently. I think the seller has just coated then in 2k gloss black.

    Photoshop.

    blackeleanors.jpg

Still go the first one apg39... But i personally don't like black rims :P

  2. Just wanted to let everyone know that i took my Aurion ATX in for it's service today had previously had a mate (who runs a Beaurepairs) do a wheel alignment and print out the results.. Still puls to the left but wasn't as bad told toyota about it today and are putting camber bolts in on warrenty... so happy.. Guess the morale of the story is if you can prove that there is a problem they will fix it no questions asked.. keep everyone posted on the results with the camber bolts on..

Just thought i would let everyone know had the camber bolts put in by toyota on warrenty and the problem is completely gone.... runs straight as a die

  3. Theres two levels of premium, 95 & 98

he didnt mention v power so id go with 95

Good point I wasn't debating which fuel was being used just that V- power is 98 RON does anyone have any idea why shell only offers V-power and not 95 RON as well??

Sorry i realise i am going a little off topic!!! :(

  4. hey guys recently got a 2007 zr6 aurion

and thinking about getting a grill for it

just wondering what u guys recommend? black, crome etc.

    My car is white btw

and where would i go to purchase grills?

    perth boii btw :)

Personally I like the mesh grill like JIN got... Think it really suits the car...

  5. hey eveyone this is my first car, im only on my learners so its a fun car for my first, enjoy the pictures

btw, if anyone knows where to get 3S-GE engines from please let me know as mine is on its way out thanks

3s-GE engine is ok but if you got the extra coin dump an SR-20 in the chassi can handle it and it's a lot better engine :D prob can't say that though as it isn't a toyota engine oh well!!!

  6. Ok just pumped my car 50L of Shell Premium Unleaded (95 octane i think?) when i was almost empty and it's just a tiny bit off full.

Resetted my TRIP A odometer and see how many kms i get out of it. Currently driving at about 9.9L/100km to about 10ish.

A bit off topic - but I think Shell's premium unleaded (V-power) is actually 98 octane.

    100% correct

  7. I am pretty sure that with thte learning gear box in the car does that.. Easiest way to fix it would be to reset the trans ECU..

Did the Avalon come with adaptive AI for the automatic transmission though? It seems like a reasonable explanation, but only if it is one of the features that it has.

Good point didn't even look to see it was the Avalon not the Aurion we were speaking about... my bad :whistling:

  8. Basically whenever the gears change it's really jerky. Seems to be worst from 1st>2nd and gets a bit better from 2nd>3rd>4th.

    Any ideas?

Mate do you do alot of highway driving?.If so, i found that in my last car, that alot of highway driving, high speeds for long durations will customise the gear changing, so when you drive around residential area at 60 or 50km the car gear changing in automatic will be jerky and all over the shop. For example if you drove from brisbane to melbourne flat out at 120km, it would take about 1-2 weeks of driving around melbourne city for the gear changing to settle in and get use to stop start gear changing.

Im not sure if this is the same for the aurion, but found it happened a fair bit with some of my other automatics.

I am pretty sure that with thte learning gear box in the car does that.. Easiest way to fix it would be to reset the trans ECU..

  9. Hi can i be contacted to order a grill

    ....

Im in NSW and would like to know the contact for the grills or do the group order as people have suggested.

    ....

Hi. I think you better contact argie.

He is a member of this forum as well and I got the grill from him.

It costs me $165 incl. postage with insurace for upto $200.

another suggestion, search for bondie's tread, get one yourself, contact thai, paypal is safe as. Organising group buy takes time and not really worth the wait.

also, better delete your email address?

and u get the choice of black and chrome

ok no problem, do you have the contact details handy for this guy in Thailand ?

Also, like i said im new to this and want to update my ZR6 the way you guys have but worried about warranty. Does any modification to the engine and exhaust or to any body parts void warranty?? And i want to kill the rattle in my dash !! Its bloddy anoying everytime that its cold in the morning it happens until i have the heater on full blast and the plastic expands.....

And sorry 1 more thing, a strange noise from the motor also when its cold sounds like something tapping as it drives until i get the RPM's up then i cant notice it but once the motor is warm as i speed up going through the gears the noise dispears !

Any suggestions, Toyota think its normal and they cant hear anything abnormal from the motor when its cold d??

    Please Help !

    Thanks

    Rick ZR6

In regards to the warm up noise i am very sure there is a thread in this forum that they talk about noises while the engine is warming up.. Can't rember whether they resolved the problem or not though... Just do a search in the aurion forum pretty sure it's one page back... Congrats on the new car mate know you will enjoy it.

  10. this reckless (even older Camry) lady driver over took me with 15 metres to the roundabout cutting into my lane from the right...

I was doing 60 all along obliging the road rules...

Needless to say I took off the P plate as soon as I got home... never had any problems since... :)

its been 8 years since but I do remember things like that when I was a P plater

certainly doesn't encourage P platers to stick to the speed limit

Looking at this months wheels mag which as flawed as it sometimes is the stats are normally pretty good the Honda accord they test drove was 92kW/tonne..

Just for the record what is it for the Aurion??

that might have been the 4 cylinder Accord, or maybe they used gross weight?

    Aurion A-TX is

    200kW power

    1540kg tare

    1590kg kerb

    2110kg gross

    = 95, 125, or 130kW/tonne ?

the last two ratio is typically assosicated with "hot hatch" lol

Sorry for my naiveity but which weight do you typically take it off of...

  11. Just wanted to let everyone know that i took my Aurion ATX in for it's service today had previously had a mate (who runs a Beaurepairs) do a wheel alignment and print out the results.. 12. Touch up for Rims?

Dun think they exist.. If it's scratched, nothin can be done. Unless u want to repair the whole thing..

Sure canon my last car, fixed mine twice once did it myself which looked ok but second time got a guy to come round to my house and couldn't tell that they even had scratch cost about $200 for all four wheels but this is about 3 years ago..

  13. http://www.honda.com.au/wps/wcm/connect/in...Specifications/

    New Accord V6 are claiming 202kW @ 6200rpm | 339Nm @ 5000rpm with a weight of either 1615kg for standard or 1650kg for the luxury . . . So 125kW/tonne

Looking at this months wheels mag which as flawed as it sometimes is the stats are normally pretty good the Honda accord they test drove was 92kW/tonne..

Just for the record what is it for the Aurion??

  14. The whites on Black has a nice Grill... I think it suits the 'Sport with VIP' theme car.

Dunno how it'll go if it was on Black..

Agree with Speedz, Boxy style suits better for low car, meaning it has to go with Air Sus..

So Bondie, What's new? Gonna get that lip Kit?

    DJ, Let's get a roof spoiler..xD

Mannn i dont know. Ive worked out - that amongst all the pics ive gathered, they aint all the same lipkit. What i mean is one of the lipkits actually comes with the car, the car is called the camry extremo and it comes with a smoother type of lip kit, that actually blends in with the car, which is in the pics ive attached.

The one that thailand sells looks similar, but up close - completely different - it doesnt blend in so well, it looks like it just been stuck on, too many curves and corners and looks a bit sh*t. ( attach pics with 2 different kits)

Has anyone else had any luck with lip kits. What about you dannywss, any luck yet.

Bondie which of these two is the extremo kit?

  15. Yeah i know , im looking for one like this, something that will stand out but not too crazy. But no such luck so far.

    LoL...This 1.

This is from the same company in Indo I've contacted to custom a Kit..

    But yea...Back to fittings..

Btw Bondie, I barely see any differences to the LipKit.. Better ask them whether they can custom a Roof-Spoiler.. ;)

IMO, dun think it's worth the value considering u gonna spend like almost 1k for something people can hardly tell the differences.

I'd rather spend it on brakes with those red clip covers. Looks sickkk..

That is true, what i needto do is to find one between the wald kit and the lip kit.((like the siver kit below) As i think the wald kit changes the curves of the Aurion too much and makes it look like a holden.

Some sort of kit that is going to give it a fuller look but not change the shape it too much. I might have to keep looking.

I dont know about the roof spoiler,......im not a big fan. Each to their own.

Below is pics of the wald kit, ........too much i think:

Good point does look very holden like. My opinion is you need something between your orignal idea and this. The First one you displayed i had to look look twice see if the car even had it on...

  16. Hi All,

My Aurion's front rims got few scratchs from the kerb and wish to fix them with touch up paint.

What kind of touch up paint should I buy for the rims? Does Toyota have genuine touch up paint for the rims or do I need to get an aftermarket one?

    Thanks!

Best bet would be to go to your local auto barn and get them to mix you the correct colour. Toyota only has body paint colours.

  17. Could be a contribution but i ve done about 600k's since ive got the exhaust and have been doin 90% hiway use. ive toped my tank up 3 times just to reset the computer and each time it was about 2.5L/100 more than before the exhaust. But as 'apg39' said they recomended a little wile for the ecu to fully adjust to the change. So ill keep you's posted after this week.

thanks mrdau! pipewerx are at 3/547 Kessels Rd Macgregor (38494011)

    Cheers mate, much appreciated

  18. Normal thing between 2nd and 3rd... not sure why it is only these gears, but guess it has something to do with the internal design.

If you try to accelerate fast, does yours also have a really noticeable gear change lag between 1st and 2nd? I have yet to determine if it is just my trans or a common thing... gets really annoying because you get thrown forward, then back again during the change - which doesn't seem right to me...

Sure does!! I think the fact that in essence the gear box is still a automatic that can be controlled somewhat by the driver has a lot to do with it. Only baseing that assumption on a previous thread I have seen here though!! It will be interesting to see how Fatsatman gets on with the dealer reflashing the ECU though!!

  19. Well i got the grills from Thailand. They come in a carboard box with good wrapping. After liasing with Ying Ying, I Payed by pay pal on Monday the 18th of August and have just received them tonight on 25 August. Total of 7 days.

It is successfull, and im stoked. Well i can say, this company can be trusted and is a good supplier. I will post the link, contact, email address, pay pal account name to pay, guys name. All the info tonight, for people who are interested in sourcing out merchandise through them.

Also if anyone has any questions, i will be happy to help. The hard part was talking to the guy through email, but now we have established a link, it should be easy as. Pretty much you tell him what you want - he emails you the invoice - you pay by pay pal - and he sends it.

Im not sure of the rules, Am i allowed to post this info? To be honest i havent read all the rules, - Well basically im not trying to sell anything, just providing the link for you guys really.

If the link gets squashed, because i have broken a forum rule, just PM me and ill give you the details.

    Here are some pics.

Like your idea about changing the colour think it would be just to much chrome!!! Just my thoughts anyway

  20. I thought y'all might like a l'il story..

A Japanese company ( Toyota ) and an American company (Ford Motors) decided to have a canoe race on the Missouri River. Both teams practiced long and hard to reach their peak performance before the race.

On the big day, the Japanese won by a mile.

The Americans, very discouraged and depressed, decided to investigate the reason for the crushing defeat. A management team made up of senior management was formed to investigate and recommend appropriate action.

Their conclusion was the Japanese had 8 people rowing and 1 person steering, while the American team had 7 people steering and 2 people rowing.

Feeling a deeper study was in order; American management hired a consulting company and paid them a large amount of money for a second opinion.

They advised, of course, that too many people were steering the boat, while not enough people were rowing.

Not sure of how to utilize that information, but wanting to prevent another loss to the Japanese, the rowing team's management structure was totally reorganized to 4 steering supervisors, 2 area steering superintendents and 1 assistant superintendent steering manager.

They also implemented a new performance system that would give the 2 people rowing the boat greater incentive to work harder. It was called the 'Rowing Team Quality First Program,' with meetings, dinners and free pens for the rowers. There was discussion of getting new paddles, canoes and other equipment, extra vacation days for practices and bonuses. The pension program was trimmed to 'equal the competition' and some of the resultant savings were channeled into morale boosting programs and teamwork posters.

The next year the Japanese won by two miles.

Humiliated, the American management laid-off one rower, halted development of a new canoe, sold all the paddles, and canceled all capital investments for new equipment. The money saved was distributed to the Senior Executives as bonuses.

The next year, try as he might, the lone designated rower was unable to even finish the race (having no paddles,) so he was laid off for unacceptable performance, all canoe equipment was sold and the next year's racing team was out-sourced to India .

    Sadly, the End.

Here's something else to think about: Ford has spent the last thirty years moving all its factories out of the US , claiming they can't make money paying American wages.

TOYOTA has spent the last thirty years building more than a dozen plants inside the US The last quarter's results:

TOYOTA makes 4 billion in profits while Ford racked up 9 billion in losses.

Ford folks are still scratching their heads, and collecting bonuses...

IF THIS WEREN'T SO TRUE IT MIGHT BE FUNNY

Thats hilarious and true!!! If only the bigger companies could learn from that example :help:
