  1. Super white ain't necessary super bright... most of them are, in fact, the opposite ;)

I have one of those super white in my RX-8, matches the Xenon pretty well in terms of colour, but it does not do its job in terms of lighting.

    I will keep searching though.

  2. $500 a tyre hmmm... why not go for 255/45-19. There are plenty of choices there.

For high prices sake. Read the option lists on the Porsche Cayenne. 21 inch wheel with arch extension costs $16990 for the base Cayenne model B)

  3. H11 does not have any bright bulb available :(

XtremePower does not come with H11 and crystal white from Philips are not as bright. I am still searching a nice, brighter H11 since my RX-8 also needs them.

Let me know if you find one!

DId i also see a white E36 beside ur garage?

Not my garage on photo. It is neighbour's car, always park there. Welcome to do anything with it :spiteful: .

For the record I have a sporty RX-8 in my garage and going to buy a small car to travel so the 8 can be a track prep car with stripped interior and road cage, turboed, track spine breaking suspension, etc etc.

I just bought a pair on eBay. Now I cant wait to get them.

You will like them. Make sure you don't touch the globe part in any circumstances, even if you are wearing gloves.

  5. Here it is.

    3646_1.jpg

They are $79.95 from Autobarn. Cheaper if you have a 20% voucher of course. eBay are selling similar prices $60 + postage in one place, as I am kind of a guy that either get up and do it now or never do it at all. So I went a detour to Autobarn before going home instead.

One thing about Toyota is that they never change their headlight design... I meant I used to own a MY99 Camry, which is 2 generations of Camry ago, and they are using the same H4 light bulb casing.

To remove them, no need any fancy illustrations. Just...

    1. unplug the socket (which is heavily greased on mine),

    2. remove the plastic that cover the bulb,

    3. undo the clip of that secure the globe (if you are facing the engine, the clips are on the left hand side for both lights).

    4. then take the bulb out

:yahoo: Reverse the procedure to install

Warnings: Since the socket is heavily greased, please be careful NOT to touch the glass bit of the globe anywhere. This is to prevent premature failure of the globe. They just blown easily if there is hand grease on them. Use an alcohol wipe to clean them if it really happens.

It only take 5 mins (or as much time as my kids to take a bath  ). The result is amazing. The angle is much wider and the light is more intense and possibly further away. The stock globe is not even as strong as the fog lights, and now you can just able to tell the difference when the fog lights are on. That is the easiest way to explain how bright it is now.

They are just VERY MUCH SLIGHTLY whiter than the parker lights and the fog lights, so it is just SLIGHTLY whiter than the stockie. But I am not after colour here.

I also took some before and after photos :spiteful:

    Inside

    BEFORE (Stockie)

AFTER (PHILIPS Xtreme Power); and I just check the shutter speed, ISO and aperture are the same

Outside (which is harder to tell)

    BEFORE (Stockie)

    AFTER (PHILIPS Xtreme Power)

Someone YouTube on the move. I vouch for that experience

  6. Verdict

Head and shoulders above the rest in this test was the Philips X-treme Power, which put in a performance no rival bulb could come near.

Guess what I brought tonight at Autobarn before going home :whistling:

  7. Since xenon/HID lights are different and they use a different casing/housing for the bulb. If you match the halogen casing/housing with a HID bulb (it will work but) it will cause of a lot of glare!

I have never seen a good conversion that INCREASE the amount of light reflecting back to the driver. EDIT: nor the distance of which the light beam travel increases.

Stock HID, btw, is excellent and I love it to death.

I am more inclined to get some strong halogen bulb which may be a little less yellow.

Once again, I am very happy to be proven wrong :)

  8. Toyota Motor plans to recall about 90,000 Highlander sport utility vehicles in the United States.

The Japanese automaker wants to fix a problem that could prevent the seat belt in a third-row seat from securing a rear-facing child seat.

Toyota spokesman Bill Kwong said Friday the company had issued a stop sale of the 2008 Highlander SUV and hybrid version with third-row seats to retrofit changes to the seat belt.

There have been no complaints or injuries tied to the seat belts.

The vehicles under the recall were built between May 2007 and March 2008. Kwong says owners will be notified of the recall in June, and dealers will install a newly designed seat belt component.

Not relevant #1: We don't have anchors in the 3rd row

Not relevant #2: I think the first shipment was made after March 2008.

  9. :whistling: If we have to stop that animation and the Toyota logo, we would have to write into the program in built in the system.

I wonder it can be accessed via the ECU plug in, like from the OBD port.

Some computer minded Kluger owner should make a program similar to those in the Toyota and see what option we can change!

Or you can ask the Toyota dealer to see what sort of option you can choose from their machine

  10. Admire your effort really Scott. In no time you will be doing your own Sat Nav, bluetooth with steering wheel control, smart entry and push start button, moon roof and electric tail gate! I can't wait for those ;)

What is your next project btw, any of the above?? j/k :P

  11. Nice work Scott. It took you 2 hours because you are taking nice pictures.

    DSC00621.jpg

In this shot Scott, I can see the blue cable from the audio control going to the clip, there is one from the right too.

In Grande there is air con control too on the right (I don't know why and if it is useful), but hey it looks good to have all the control in the wheel. I wonder if it is hard to put them in .... :P:

Would that be a plug and play thing I wonder.

Option up an KX-R is very nice Scott... I am sure you are enjoying it.

  12. Too bad you are in Perth, I can show you what traction control does.

Haha, I am going for a drift practice this Saturday. However I was told not to bring my Kluger <_<

BTW sometimes minor correction does not show the logo or chime.

One time I went into a corner very fast and the EBD came on (to reduce understeer), the traction control light did not show.

  13. 10K service will always be $150 (the Toyota advantage or something similar program). I thought all Kluger has this program in which the cost is $150 on all service at 10000km interval up to 3 years or 60000km!

Smell, slightly burning smell, is the exhaust smell. It should not be there at 10000km.... have you rev the car up yet?? ^_^"
