  1. I paired my Nokia 6120 with KX-S demo in the yard with no problem.

Is it possible that the Toyota system uses the network to initially recognise the phone. During my play with the demo I noticed a phone number oin the display (not mine) when scrolling through the menu options. I see that the BT can store up to 6 phones to pair with so maybe this is the way (the number) in which the system differentiates between phones.

Just a thought to maybe explain the above problem......

No. The blue tooth carries a set of codes per device ... a 4 pairs of hex code. So it can range from 00:00:00:00 to FF:FF:FF:FF. That makes (with my rough calculation) 4,294,967,296 combination. The changes of one exact combination within the 10m effective range is.... next to zero.

eDIT: I was told it may use more (like the MAC address). So more combination :yahoo:

  2. Its funny how their customer relations person calls me as I am writing a letter of complaint to their service manager. Poor girl, copped an earful.

Well at least, now I know who to address the letter to!

Will be interesting to see what they came back with..probably will say they were short-staffed....

I will not holding my breath about any compensation for your inconvenience that they may have caused... <_<

  3. BTW they have a wiper replacement special for something like $39...wonder if that is with all models...cheaper than the $55 you paid.

I have not paid for it yet because the part was not AVAILABLE! <_< So much for Toyota when a simple rubber is not there on their shelf

  4. Ray

This is not good enough. It is time to name and shame if I were you.

Cannon Toyota in Heidelberg was good. I forgot to ask them about the headlight... (in fact I thought they were a bit too soon to come on since I get it on driving under a bridge at highway speed). I have to wait for 20K now :(

  5. I know in some cars, the headlights remain on for a preset time as a safety feature. I am not sure what the logic is here with the lights turning off as soon as the driver's door is opened....

You can do that. I think you have to get to a dealer to do so.

  6. It will do the mobile radar, the V1 also detect the laser too.

Needless to say they are not legal.

You also need to have the Valentine V1 installed, it is only the display unit only. You should go back to your homelink mirror idea in the first place. Let me know if it is a plug and play item. If it is, then I will get one. My remote is nicely in the easy to reach place in the centre console (just next to the left knee). But putting button on the mirror is cool

  7. In terms of safety and the health of the engine. 91 Octane is find, unless you are towing or racing the engine :yahoo: , anything that the ECU has been tuned for is ok. :) B)

I do mix the fuel ;) . Tell you what I found regularly.

I found 91 Octane have much worse fuel consumption compare a full tank of 98 <_< . I have to honest <_< and said I have not tried the 95 yet and I never have experience in them. They are the slowest turnover fuel there is in the servo. So I think fresher fuel is better (hence 98 Octane).

I tell you my experience. My wife and I just done 10000km in the car.

    1. On city runs (around Kew and no freeway), although it is hard to know since the mixture is not the same everytime:

    I get about 16.5L/100km on 91 Octane

but I get as low as 14.9L/100km on 98 Octane, but it is normally in the low 15L.

    when I put 10% 98 with the rest 91. I get 15.9L/100km

    2. I do long trip twice in this car, that is freeway only:

I get about 10.2L/100km in the 91 Octane.

But I get 8.9L/100km in the 98 Octane. *(then I go to the Great ocean road and it increases to 10.2L/100km, so I dunno)

    3. One a time I tow my sports car, full 98 Octane gets 16L/100km.

Back trip uses the V power racing (100 Octane), I get down to the 14sL/100km

I think when the fuel is only 10c per litre more. It is like around 7.5% more of the 91 Octane. I think there is under 10% increase in fuel consumption. I thought it is very marginal. But the mix fuel is only marginally more expensive, but I get 3% better economy.

    Go figure. haha. :yahoo:

I was told by my dealer that though:

    When towing use 98.

    Every 1 of 5 tank use 98.

I think it is logical. :toast:

Plus 98 has more power. So when I am driving it.... use 98. When my wife is driving it use 91 haha

  8. Sorry to raise the dead thread :)

The Kluger's stability-control system has recently been a topic of discussion after a local car magazine rolled one on a dirt bend during testing. It was a closed road and no one was injured. But the driver believed the stability-control system was a factor in the incident. We don't want to get involved in the argument into who or what was to blame as we weren't there. But we can tell you this. Drive has tested several variants of the Kluger in recent months and I've personally covered a combined total close to 5000km in a number of them. In particular, we got up close and personal during Drive's Car of the Year awards last year, where all cars were tested extensively, including on a slalom, as well as a road course and racetrack. The 4WD Kluger won praise and the 2WD Kluger seven-seater won the people-mover class.

We did note, however, that the stability-control system in the Klugers (and the LandCruiser) we tested had a high threshold. That is, the system activated moments after the car got out of shape and then abruptly clamped the brakes.

We are strong advocates of stability control and believe you are better off having it than not. However, there may be some merit in Toyota revisiting the calibration of its system. In the past, Toyota has been criticised for having a stability-control system intervene too soon, so it seems unfair to be critical of the current set-up.

Kluger owners or potential buyers should not be alarmed or put off by any of this. We stand by our decision and would happily recommend this vehicle. Indeed, most drivers are extremely unlikely to encounter the same conditions that led to the rollover during a test on a closed dirt track.

  9. Yes I will change it when it have streaks, although by cleaning them frequently you will make it last longer. I use rainX a lot and love to keep the front window clean and visible as much as I could.

It is safety for yourself really. So far it does not have streak yet.

  10. No it is not worn but I tend to change it every 10K if I was cheap to make it use properly. Mind you in 4 months and 10K the Mazda one will be worn. But the Kluger one is ok

Yes it is service advantage sorry.

rzkman. $150 is for everything, including any factory repair (presume under warranty). Any extra request is extra. My senior college at work told me once that she complained about the sat nav map in her Kluger being too old and they replaced another one for free! :o Can I try that?

Btw why when I typed the word *** (the man in heaven) it will blank out?

  11. Well first service as most of you in the diamond program is $150. Cheap cheap.

    The wiper is extra cost.

Mazda charges $22 for a set. Well I thought may as well for my Kluger at the 10K service.

**** they quote me $55 a set for the front! :help:

Anyway, they don't have one in stock so I am forced to do it at 20K. Thank *** that there is no rain in Melbourne and the wiper does not get used often.

  12. Well today I try to get up a not very steep muddy track... can't.

Just realised that I have not done any 4WD training and I forgot to turn the VDC off.

No mood to persist on it and went back on the bitumen coz I was about 190km from the destination tonight.

(Side note: Is it possible to have Ausstar but not all the sports channel? I am missing Fox Sports 1 for the Premier League football, My fav Man Utd playing Liverpool).
