Hi, I have finally had a 3" turbo back exhaust fitted. The vehicle is now far more rapid in it's throttle response and is a pleasure to drive. I have not yet had the chance to ascertain if it has made a difference to fuel economy . Very happy so far.
My 2002 vehicle, New Zealand, new, does not have any of the smog fittings EGR, Cat etc. so I am not breaking any laws.
the American market got the 4Runner in petrol only.(my fellow colleague's from work who are American an love the tracks new right away what a 4Runner looks like, but never heard of a diesel one)
New Zealand market got the 4Runner in 2.8D(engine named 3L) i’m sure they would have came out petrol in New Zealand aswell, but yet to have seen one. The 3L is a legendary motor, ”never late in a 2.8”. Yet it is under powered on hills it is extremely cheap to run an is good on road an off road, an with a turbo added changes the game.
4runner in New Zealand was a New Zealand new, made for New Zealand.
While my understand with surfs is they weren’t New Zealand new.(possibly some but ones with Japanese writing is not)
correct me if I’m wrong but that has been the information garages have told me and old farmers that get a smile on they face to see them ticking along like they did back in the day.
once again never late in a 2.8 🙂

Hi all
i have a 2019 Hilux rouge and today i drove over a few potholes that were a little larger than expected, was not travelling at speed. I now have a metallic rattle that turns up around 40-50kms on acceleration then disappear when at a complete stop, Can also feel it in the steering when turning. The sound was instant like something was dislodged but not its inconsistent could take 200m or 2kms but always goes away when stationary.
i have had a good look under for loose/foreign object but all looks good cv’s and tail shaft feel good, bash plates tight, exhaust tight
