Hey guys, my mum complains that the lights on her corolla are too dark to drive with at night ...

What globes are the best option for us to make it a brighter? Would prefer lights that will just go into the existing spots as opposed to ones that need any kind of modifications or fiddling around.

Legal as well if possible, but if not, tell me that the particular option is not legal. THANKS ! :yahoo:

Oh and price.

This looks promising ... --> http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...4&hl=globes

EDIT

Don't want HID's

EDIT again

Legal:

Narva +50

Narva Arctic Vision

Philips 50+

Philips Blue Vision.

All ADR compliant and will increase visibility over stock.

Non-Legal:

Philips Diamond Vision

Philips Crystal Vision

These make a pretty blue or purple light, but aren't ADR compliant and have less visibility than those above. Beware that most Autobarn outlets will recommend the Crystal/Diamond Visions.

Since then I've found out.

(Firstly I think I got one of the names wrong there, Philips 50+ should be Philips Vision Plus) A set of these would still have a 'Yellow' kind of light, but in actual fact they have greater penetration than the standard oem fitment. Philips Blue Vision have a 'Whiter Light' and at first will give you the impression that you can see better but they do in fact have the same penetration as standard fitment.

I used BJ Union 6200k Thunder Blue globes in my old AE102. Jap imports so definately not ADR compliant, but not a stupid shade of blue so you wouldn't get picked up on it. Very white and better than OEM.

Bought from tangcla (Celica guy from Melbourne)

Think I will go for the Narva plus 50 .. Any idea what the standard ae 101 headlight globes are ? H4 or H7, whether the highbeam and driving beam are the same globe etc. ?

Appreciate any info .. otherwise, I will find out and post up when I go home and take the car apart. Thanks !

My guess would be H4 combo driving and highbeams ...

Good info on this site --> http://www.rallylights.com/hella/bulb_help.htm & http://www.rallylights.com/hella/hella%20images/h4-3.jpg

They're combined H4s from memory, assuming we're talking about ADM 101s here (although pretty sure the JDM Levins would be the same/similar)

I'd say you are right ..

The car looks similar to "Charlene" that you have there .. but in green

Put these new 130W lights in (given to me by a friend) and was not too impressed ... not a lot brighter..

See for yourself

By the way, can anyone tell me what I can do with the head light adjustments ? What is the best angle for it to be shining at, where should I be doing the adjustments etc.

I found the RHS was pointing down and have rectified that slightly .. But will still get the good brighter/whiter bulbs as named above.

Any tips.
