I had one of my two immobilizer remotes fail, and purchased a new remote from Toyota.

The reader in the glove box would not work as directed.

I booked it in to get looked at and it was found that the Computer Ingegration Relay was faulty. To replace this it would be $334 plus fitting.

It seems quite a bit, and was hoping there would be another way to get a second remote working, whether a genuine or non genuine. The only reason to get a second remote is if the other one fails, the car will be stranded.

Other option would be if the immobilizer can be turned off but central locking left on.
