1991 Townace

Hi, I have a 91 Townace, import, with the 2C-T motor, and the A44DL tranny. The engine revs to nearly redline before slamming into gear, I have flushed it with 16 litres of fluid, cleaned the pan, and the smallish filter i could find, looks to be lot of gear to remove on the bottom, to get to the bands, if there are any? anyone had expierience with these, I cant find much info on this model at all, thnaks.

we have a 1990 model import townace with the 2C-T moter. We have had the same problem with the gearbox. We took it to a transmission place. They test drove it and said it was the cable that goes from the gearbox to the top of the motor. All it neede was an adjustment and now it runs beautifully. It took the mechanic less than a minute. I couldn't believe it. We also had it serviced. Only cost $113.50 all up. Apperently when a mechanic works on the engine they don't always know the right setting for this cable and normally just leave it which can sometimes put the gear changing out. Anyway hope it works for you too. Good luck
