Wheel alignment...

My steering wheel is slightly slanted when traveling in a straight line. If you hold it level, the car slightly veers to the left, so you have to hold it on an angle. I just rang Toyota about it and they said that they generally fix that with a wheel alignment. The thing is, I recently got new tires and they (not Toyota) did an alignment on it but it didn't fix the problem. Any ideas?

My friend had the same problem with his crappy 98 Barina. :lol:

Sounds as if the shop focused on aligning the wheels only, without taking notice of the steering wheel direction.

Heh dont bother removeing and re-aligning the steering wheel...sounds easy but its not.

Personally I would have it re-aligned (for piece of mind).....

totally agree with Brad!

There's something suss about the shop you went to get the alignment! Go to midas, K-mart auto (NOT recommended there though), JAX, etc... when you ask for a wheel alignment they do the aligning of all wheel and the steering! Unless you tell them NOT to do it (which they would NOT recommend)

Hmm, sounds like Beaurepairs didn't do a very good alignment on it. I think they did a fairly quick job. The only reason I got it done there was because I got the tyres there. Maybe I'll get a proper one done by Toyota. I just didn't think wheel alignments had anything to do with the steering wheel. Thanks for the info!

Found Bob Jane to be the best, but they could not align my wheels properly recently because I changed springs and needed a camber kit...they told me to go to a suspension specialists...

Next time I'll just go to a suspension specialist because they have the parts there and I won't have to pay for a wheel alignment just to get told that I have to take the car somewhere else for further adjustments! <_<

      Landcruiser Prado (150 series) AVS suspension

      Hi, I have a 2012 Prado (150 series) which is the LC5 (UK top end model) with AVS (suspension). My problem is that I find the AVS very brittle and a bit uncomfortable (on UK road tarmac) compared to my two previous LandCruisers - a 2001 Colorado and a 2006 Prado (120 series) with standard mechanical suspension. In the UK there are so few Prados sold with AVS that the dealers have no knowledge, and there is no Toyota UK technical support. Although I have no warning lights on the dash, there is no difference in the poor ride quality between Firm and Soft settings, thus I feel something must be broken between the dashboard switch and the dampers. Note that my dampers have been checked and two rears replaced, but with no improvement. Does anyone have experience or knowledge of this situation?

      Dangerous rogue dash speaker reflection

      Yeah its the silver surround that not only reflects up onto the windscreen but on the road on the way to and from work reflects the light straight into my eyes. I have just thrown a dark rag over eqch for now as a low tech fix but it looks pretty daggy in a vehicle I am otherwise really happy with. I have asked the dealer how to remove the covers, which they will have to do anyhow as the right one has a small dint in the face. Again only noticeable as the finish is not matt so the dint stands out. I have also messaged JBL nothing back so far.

      Hi Guys. My trip meter stopped working recently. When setting back to 000 it will rotate until it gets to 040. the third wheel, which is in 100m increments keeps scrolling but the km wheel is stuck on 4. Any advice would be helpful. Cheers

      The 2024 GR sport have the same speakers but mine are black faced with a silver surround. The silver strip can be seen in the screen still but the face is ok
