Slow to take off

Recommended Posts

I have a CSI AE 92 rolla and my take off is really slow and then picks up. Is this normal or are there DIY methods to fix this problem. This is my first injected car I'm used to fiddling with carburettors and so forth, to increase the initial get go. Also thought perhaps a better air filter would be a starting point but as I'm unfamiliar I need as much hints and tips as possible.

Mcuh smarter people out there than me, but here are my suggestions.

1) Clean air flow meter. Can get soapy sprays, but be careful. If you take it out of its housing, don't drop it!

2) Check for any holes in the air intake pipes/tubes/carby. Too free a flow of air can result in false sensor readings - think of a massive CAI - it'll kill low end power.

3) Hmmm, that's all I can think of.

Cheers mate I'll check that out. I've only had it for a few weeks so I thought I'd give it 2-5 tanks of fuel through her before I started changing things, mostly to see how she drives with different driving styles and changes. If any one could suggest anything more it'd be appreciated. As I said I'm not in the know regarding injected motors.
