Headlight switch not left on by any chance?!? If that's not the case, you'll need to do a bit of probing with a test light to trace the bridged circuit from headlights to ignition.

Hi I have just bought myself a 2005 prado gx.

The headlights come on when the vehicle starts up.

Vehicle has been fitted with ignition on lights on would like to disconnect.

Any Ideas

there is a little logic in there if the lights were left on and the vehicle stopped, the lights go off (so that the battery is safe).

then when you start the lights go on.

there is some functionality there about locking the car from outside using the security button.

I had same stuff in my camry 03
