heya,

I have a 1986 Celica ST162, with a boot with some issues, namely some serious rust which has affected the area near the hinge, making closing difficult. Also, it's a coupe, not a liftback, which apparently makes things difficult, as they were rarer.

I did a ring around of wreckers today, and the response was largely "sorry mate, good luck with that".

Does anybody have any advice on whereabouts I could obtain a boot panel for such an old Celica, or maybe others that are interchangeable?

Or would I be better off trying to get the boot itself repaired? Could I try and weld it myself, or would I have to take it to panelbeaters? Oh, and yes this is my first car =). And I'm of course, not in any urgent need to get it done right now, which is probably a good thing...lol

Cheers,

Victor
