Hi Guys,

Just got myself a TRD CAI and need a hand installing it...ive got an idea on how to do it but i would rather someone who has done it before, either do it for me/ or help me with it. Worst case, if anyone could provide me with a good place to install it for cheap.

Cheers, Steve

hi guys, yes ive searched already and ive seen how it all looks but im still confused on the install thats why im posting if any1 knows a place or if any has done it before and would like to help me with it (obviously your time will be compensated for). Im just not confident enough to do it on my own just yet so any help would be great....even if you guys know of a workshop that does it....cheers

To remove the the airbox remove the MAF sensor and put it somewhere safe, undo the 2 clips that face the passanger side. Loosen the 2 clamps that hold the hose to the airbox and the throttle body. Lift the top of the airbox out and remove it from the hose and remove that thing at the back that has the blue plug (not the plug, the whole lot, it should slide up. Zip tie this somewhere at the end). Remove the small hose that runs between the throttle body and that little blue thing on it's way to the airbox. I usually just fold this over itself and zip tie it, and the upper part of the airbox should come out. Remove the rest of the intake piping and take the filter out. Undo the battery mount and the 3 bolts that are in the bottom of the lower half of the air box. There is a clip at the rear that holds it to some cables, This is undone by inserting a flat head screw driver into the little opening at the top and pulling it up to open it. Then you need to jiggle things around a little to get the free from all the stuff around it. To remove the airbox feed, there is a bolt that was under the battery and a clip at the front of the car just to the centerline of the car from the headlight. Follow those hints and tips in that link given and add the CAI pipe, if the rubber elbows are sticky and wont move easily, apply a tiny amount of engine oil to the pipe surfces and they will go on with no problems. Add the MAF back in and give the engine a test run, if it is idling really really badly like a bomb and stalls under load, the hose you blocked off with the zip tie is leaking.

Hope that helps out, this assumes you have the Sportivo, since the normal rolla has a weird thing that sits where the pod will sit.
