Which exhaust is better? (TRD and 5zigen LAX TOURING)

Having a TRD muffler(exhaust) on currently, it works fine.

Have an opportunity to exchange for a 5zigen LAX TOURING, just wonder if it's better than TRD one's? Or worse?

My ride is a 03' runx (VVTL-i)

I doubt anyone of us have tried both, seeing that the TRD & 5Zigen would need a custom install.

Nobody here will have tried the TRD one seeing as the Australian-delivered Corolla Sportivos have the exhaust outlet on the right and the Japanese RunX's have the exhaust outlet on the left.

But I'm sure they're both great :D

Now for my 2 cents - I'm a stickler for having things as a 'set', so I'd go TRD.

But just for the hardcore factor I say you get the 5zigen... and then post a real review here.

Actually I am having a TRD muffler on. And my friend is selling his RUNX with a new 5-zigen(only 6 months). So I am thinking if I should switch.

Still thinking about it.

Just a note:

For the difference between the tone of 2 mufflers, the 5-zigen sounds a bit better at the high end...but I know it comes to a personal choice :)

As for actual gain, I don't really believe just an muffler will make big difference. Plus the modifications on my car and my friend's car are different.... so will see if I can get some time in a weekend before he really sold his car, then I can try the 5-zigen on my car.

Yeah good idea, just swap them over and keep whichever you like the best it's a 10 minute bolt off bolt on job

could you post a picture of the exhaust fitted? i want to change my b/box and love TRD stuff - over here most people go for the TTE with twin pipes as they are much cheaper than the TRD ones but i prefer the Jap style.

A muffler can and will make a difference to the way a car performs. Unfortunately most make more "noisepower" other than actual horsepower. But there are a few that will pick you up a few KW's.
