V8 Landcruiser 70

Hi, I have just recently purchased a new 70 series landcruiser. Usually at night when the air is cold there is a weird noise that resonated up the snorkle at about 1200-1400 rpm. I have taken the vehicleto Toyota but they cannot find a problem of course because it only happens when the outside temp is cold. On top of this a mate from the mines has told me that the turbos in the new utes there are "exploding" at around 20000km. Has anyone else heard of this?

a toyota turbo exploding??

typical thing to happen to a mines vehicle. they get flogged till they stop.....then they just get another one.

in reference to the "noise" i would suggest that its possibly the denser air moving in the snorkel.

you could take the vehicle to a turbo specialist and ask if they can shed any light on the noise.
