This might be a stupid question...but??????

Where can you buy a new head unit system for a 1991 Tarago.....does it have to be genuine because of the shape of the existing head unit or can you just buy a standard one from say a car audio place??

We are kind of new to the newer type Tarago's...we had an OLD '84 type and it was shizen hausing to work on.

Hey Man, I got a 1991 as well. I bought a single Din pocket for mine from a local car audio shop, just tell them what car you have and they will give you the right one, then you can buy any single din stereo that you like. You can also buy a double din stereo which may have a cd player aswell as a tape deck or perhaps one with a digital screen for movies or film clips or whatever.

I put in an Alpine head unit and Sony Xplod speakers, and now have a pretty sweat sound. However installing it yourself will probably void your warranty.

I realize that this response is a little late...

However, I went to JB HiFi in Sydney and had a 2din unit (the same size as the original) installed for $500, including installation... :D

It plays all types of disks (including MP3), has a tape deck (for us oldies), plus the normal AM/FM radio stuff...

Also a really cool LCD display when the music is playing... B)
