Hey i'm new to the forums, i'd like your opinions on changing the front speakers and installing speakers in the rear of the car. I've noticed a grille in the back of the wagon on both sides, are these grilles for speakers? Any help would be appreciated.

i dont think those are grills for the speakers i think their just to protect the old shabby paper speakers from ripping! if your planning to keep the wagon for a long time, i guess its worth changing the speakers but otherwise i wouldnt, its nearly a 20year old car.

My camry came with speakers in the back, behind the grill. assume yours does too. Get a copy of the manual to get out the grill, and all the plastic from the rear end basically, so you can get to the speakers. I put 6x9 in the back of mine, instead of the standard 6 inchers. sounds 10 times better, but remember that because they face each other, and not towards the occupants, there is noise cancellation in the back. Then there is the trouble of the fact that the sound has to go through the rear seats. So it depends, its an easy job once the plastic is out, but the end result is a lesser sound compared to the sedan installation of speakers in a parcel shelf. Hope that helps.

yeh theres no speakers in the back as you can see in the pics below.

Is it possible to put some 6inch speakers on the top of the rear suspension pilar? Subaru libertys wagons have the speakers their. Has anyone done it in a camry?

If you want some half decent sound quality forget rears and just have fronts then build pods so you can 6.5'' splits. like these
