hey mate to be honest with ya by the time u do all the stuffin around with matchin a carby up and if possible a head and depending how far u wanna go maybe a turbo setup or somethin u'll prob save more time and money and do a conversion with maybe a sr20 or a late model comm v6 or my favorite the 1uz-fe toyota v8 at the end of te day these would prob prove ore reliable and fuel efficiant and be able to handle buckets of power at a later date.

try this forum mate and check out a few of the v8 conversions on the 2wd luxes everthing is pretty much bolt in now to easy of a job

yeh id just go with an engine convertion, i have the same hilux as you and myn was slow as, granny's in old datsuns had me of the lights lol, i just went with a 1ggte twin turbo six it was easy fit i just had to change a few things like the gearbox mount (cause im running a supra box) shorten the speedo cable, a bit of wiring and weld up inter cooler pipes.

or to make life easy you could just sell your ute and buy myn :)
