For the past few months (since November) the aircon on my car has been emitting 'white-smog' everynow and then and only recently the a/c just started dieing (i.e. no cool air coming out) after about an hour of driving.

Anyway I get it checked and they said I needed the following done:

Remove and Replace Receiver Drier and O'rings

Remove and Replace Tx Valve and O'rings

Service R134A Air Conditioning System

They quoted me for $350-400. I'll get $45 off because that's what I paid for them to "Test operation of Air Conditioning System" and "Evacuate and recharge System for Diagnostic Valuation".

Now I don't know much about airconditioning so does that quote sound about right? Also I'm taking it at the Sandgate Auto Electrics and Air Conditioning on Connaught St, does anyone know if they do a reliable job?

Cheers.
