Fuel Gauge Inaccuracy

Hi all,

My 2003 Camry Sportivo is recently displaying inaccurate fuel readings. Upon filling from say 1/4 tank to full it takes several days to register to full. Upon a recent trip the fuel light came on and the gauge displayed MT. 50k's down the road the light went off and the guage rose by almost a 1/4 of a tank.

Is there am easy fix to this problem or should a trust Toyota to charge me mega $$ to have a look at it.

given that your fuel light comes on at random times, leads me to think that its actually the fuel receiver gaage in the fuel pump/filter assembly.

i know how everything comes apart in the whole assembly, but i'm not sure as to whether the receiver gauge itself is replacable, or whether it is the whole fuel suction plate that attaches to the fuel filter/pump assembly that will need to be replaced.
