hey guys i have downloaded the service guide for corollas but i am wondering if it is normal for the oil light to turn on when you turn the car on( then it goes away) ?

i read in the manual that if oil is low there will be a light and warning signal.

i also checked my oil in the engine bay and it is on the full line. and my oil seemed pretty clean too//

i just want to make sure.

P.S i bought some castrol edge 5w 30 incase it needs a change.

The oil warning light is pressure, so it will always come on when you first start the car as pressure has not been established (oil pump is driven by the engine).

As an aside though, the battery, oil and check engine lights should all come on when the key is in the ON position but the car hasn't been started, this is a standard check.
