Firstly are you sure you need one? Because if the oil is too cold then your fuel economy will get worse as well as not protect your engine as well.

Cheapest and easiest way is to get a simple electronic temp sensor and tape it to the oil filter. Make sure it can read as high as 120*C. Oil temp should ideally be between 85 and 120*C. If you are going way above 120*C then an oil cooler might be needed. For that scenario I recommend an oil-to-air cooler, the plate and fin type; as opposed to the tube and fin. The plate and fin are so much more efficient its not funny. Also use an oil thermostat with it help prevent the oil getting too cold.

But firstly find out what your oil temps are ;)

hi guys,

I'm after an engine oil cooler for my 1zz, any suggestions?

Or you can fix a oil temperature sandwich plate, ideal oil temp should not exceed 100'c. 90-100'c is fine but anything exceed 120'c like SuperDave suggested would need a external oil cooler kit.
