I was considering doing a HID conversion to my headlights.

Has anyone done one and could reccommend a kit to buy to replace my h4 ones?

i was looking on ebay earlier and they have the hi-low kits on there but i was a bit hesitent to buy a crap brand(as im only an apprentice i dont want to waste

this $220 and have to buy the more expensive ones later anyways.)

So yea anyone that has done this before any tips of what to buy?

And how much to spend?

Thanks.

Yeh i bought mine probably 10 months ago from http://stores.ebay.com.au/ebuyproduct-graphic-n-car-stuff

And they havnt failed on me yet. The brand is Visional (off my head) and it has 18 months warrenty ballast and 12 months on bulbs (or the other way round but yeh).

Its pretty cheap compared to other BUT they work fine ! and has never failed :D I do recommend

Almost ever HID kit will be made in the same factory, with the same internals, just with a different sticker on the front. No kits will last more than two or so years, all I can really suggest is you buy from somebody in Australia so you can get any warranty issues sorted out easier.

  • 1 year later...

I just bought 6000k HID for my 96 celica, and it looks great, alot clearer and brighter then standard halogen, and you really notice the different once you get behind the wheel, so i definately reccomend getting HID. 6000k will be brighter in my opinion, you can go for 8000k if you want it to look cooler.

I bought my H.I.D's from ebay a few months ago and they're working great too. As mentioned, most ebay kits are basically the same so search around for a good price and an Aussie seller :)
